    Great choice of power plant with plenty of power for not much money. I have had the same itches for years with track day cars, unfortunately you always seem to be thinking "if only I had this or that"! It got so bad I was buying stuff for cash so my wife didn't know how much I was spending; maybe there should be a new Govt. helpline for petrol addicts!

      Yes it can get addictive can't it! Sadly this project was sold unfinished in a desperate attempt to bolster cash reserves!

    How did you do the wiring? I have the same motor/trans planning to go into a Willys Panel, but also have a MG Midget too, if I could get it running no issues, not sure I even have the ECU anymore, was planning on a speeduino to run it. What did you do? (btw, my 71 Midget has a Suzuki 1.0L 3-cyl and Samuri 5-speed, but I have another 63 no motor)

    Great fun looking little monster, the rear differential,did you do any modifications to it ? I understand that it's not a drag car so is the stock rear sufficient to handle racing? Thanks for sharing.

    Your way ahead of me, couldn’t you have put remote filter on, saved bonnet mod and got more clearance on column? I’m sure you know why , I thought saw a column Universal joint in one of the images

    • @VisionAutoGarage
      @VisionAutoGarage  Před 5 lety

      Roger Matthews no, it won’t go lower in the chassis rails, the bell housing hits. I have been playing with some uj’s for the column, it’s all a bit close.

    have you sorted the rear end out ? I know the stock midget half shafts are glass to say the least !

    • @VisionAutoGarage
      @VisionAutoGarage  Před 5 lety

      Hey Dylan, the rear end on this one is Ford Anglia 105e unit, currently undergoing (sitting in a Carcoon) a coilover 6-link conversion. That really must get finished this year!

      Did you have to shorten that axle? Or is it colse enough to fit

    • @VisionAutoGarage
      @VisionAutoGarage  Před 5 lety

      Dylan kitley it’s about an inch wider if I remember. With wider arches its no problem

    What color is that? My mgb is very close to that color. Love it

    Did you get the v6 running well? Are you happy with the power to weight?

    i have the same rims on my midget as you revolution

    Well, I was about to remove my fiat twin cam turbo and fit a rotary, but this happened. Where did the oil filter go and steering column? Engine management and front spring rates?

    • @VisionAutoGarage
      @VisionAutoGarage  Před 5 lety

      +Roger Matthews haha don’t you hate it when that happens! Oil filter is still in the same location, just shorter filter. Steering column is tricky and not complete. I need to redesign the exhaust manifold to make it work. Emerald K6 ECU. Front springs are 400lb/ft, probably a little too firm

    Which engine management system did you use. I'm currently trying to unpick an X-type's loom to use on my kit and I'm slowly losing the will to live! May have to bite the bullet and spend some dosh on an aftermarket job..........I hope the wife's not reading this...

    What are the specs for this and main parts to accommodate the v6?

    • @NatsWorkshop
      @NatsWorkshop Před 6 lety

      And what exhaust system etc did you use?

    • @VisionAutoGarage
      @VisionAutoGarage  Před 6 lety +3

      It's 260bhp in standard form in the Jaguar, with 4 cats. I've mated it to the Getrag 221 manual gearbox, again from the s-type Jaguar. In order to reduce the size of it and simplify wiring for the Emerald K6 ecu im using, I swapped the S-type variable geometry intake manifold for the x-type manifold. I've used a Ford Mondeo ST220 oil sump pan to give some clearance and make use of its better baffles. Exhaust is basic log manifolds in to 2.5" stainless pipe, x-pipe and two 2.5" cherry bomb silencers. I expect it to make 250+ hp as there no cats and a mappable ECU.

      I was thinking of getting a whole s class and just breaking it so I can use all the other parts roughly how much did I cost?

    • @VisionAutoGarage
      @VisionAutoGarage  Před 6 lety +1

      GASGANG engine was £250, gearbox, flywheel and clutch £300 😁

      Vision Auto Garage so it’s automatic I’m assuming?

    Sorry to say it you swapped the engine we all know MG engine with dual carbs was junk now with Jaguar V6 that engine sucks also.

      noble uses them. they are very reliable at high power... Cosworth and Porsche mostly made the engine. ford just bought the rights and did some tweaks then jaguar reworked the heads. They've been known to handle 1k hp with few mods

      Oh yeah, the mazda speed 6 uses the same engine as well. a lot of people turbo those too
