This is a very good tutorial, but I thing that the part with the grid is not good. When you put the rectangle for the frame, you can select the lower left corner. Then select the respective fields in the properties to manually write X and Y coordinates for it. Than you can add the smart dimensions for the frame X and Y size. Other things. Probably because I am perfectionist or something, but I don't like the text to be on a random position. I draw a diagonal line in the text field and then attach the middle point of the text to its center (for center aligned text), and so on... My opinion is that this is a very good tutorial.
Great tutorial, thanks. I'm having trouble with regard to the Custom Properties Tab. When I make the custom tab with all of my file properties in it, it links up to the drawing just fine. However, the custom properties tab doesn't update the values stored in the File Properties dialog box accessed on the top toolbar. While this isn't a problem for me personally, what if a user comes along and stores all of his part metadata in the File Properties box by accessing it through the toolbar instead of the screen-right-flyout properties tab? Is there a way for the two to sync up? Thanks again.
At 11:45 you set up grid spacing to place lines "exactly" where you want them, but why wont the system snap to the "exact" place the you want? You still had to zoom in to kinda get it "exact." I tried it and I cannot get the snap to work either.
Click on the bottom line..........hover over the far right end point of this line.....click on that point and then click on FIX to add a fixed relation. This will keep the border in your exact final placement position. Good Luck.
This video is too elaborate. you need to explain slower and give more examples instead of talking in generalities. too many times u talk about what u could do instead of showing how to do it

SolidWorks templates and the entire process of creating title blocks, drawings etc is a failing pile of garbage.
SolidWorks is older than 80% of its user base. Think about it.
