I've lived in both cities. I've grown to hate San Francisco. Los Angeles for all of it's horrendous faults is a more exciting city hands down, it is more urban and possibly more urbane. Despite San Francisco's pretentions,, L.A. is a much more sophisticated and stimulating city. There is more diversity of attractions and activities. San Fran is only 47 sq. miles and change and so, comparing the two city's transportation systems is tricky. The city of L.A. and nearby suburbs is probably 10 times the size of SF so LA has a much more dynamic mass transit system than it's given credit for and I can tell you, BART and MUNI in SF just ain't that great if you live here. Tourists and out of towners might think that the systems in SF are great at first glance but, these systems are really over hyped and, there's nowhere to go anyway. SF, despite all the hype is not really that friendly. In fact, it's actually genuinely unfriendly unless you are in the right demographic and work for Google. I think L.A, is at least marginally more friendly. However, the flip side of that is, L.A. can genuinely be characterized as not only a tough town and, that indeed it is but, it is also mean, hostile, hateful and racist. In fact, there is no rhyme or reason to the meanness, hatefulness and flaming hostility. However, the other perspective to that is, in a city with such a large population, you're bound to find people that you can engage with eventually if you don't get discouraged too soon. There is also something supernaturally negative in the air in LA and is something that you constantly have to defend against. The place will contaminate your soul if you let it. Ask anyone that has spent enough time here so, you constantly have to monitor your mood and state of mind and stay involved in positive activities, locations and with good people...if you can find em. Keep looking, they're there. Don't let yourself get discouraged. Otherwise, the place will eat you alive. SF in comparison is Hicksville. It's an overgrown Glendale.
Born in San Francisco the natives know it has went down ,we even once and a amusement park located near the beach and a roller skating ring at very end of #goldengatepark and it was aways easy to get a job
I like the subject of these videos. The last person that highlighted the positives in CA was a guy named Huell Houser. He use to work for KCET, and he left a great void when he passed! There are a lot of hidden gems in CA that the world doesn’t know about.
San Francisco ❤ all day mos beautiful and unique city on the map …. We can go from being boujee to collected… LA are a place for fun but SF all about making money and turning things into techs! ❤❤
San Francisco population is around 800,000 . Not 3 million. La has a pro football team- the Rams. La has no there there , mostly tract suburbs. San Francisco area has more surrounding open space . SF has more depth . LA however has great weather and beaches. SF is more distinct LA is more plastic like. I’ll take SF. But don’t move here, we have enough people.
It’s absolutely NOT a dump. But we need to dump some folks out of California😃! We need to change some things just like New York & Chicago. Stop the crazy Sanctuary City, because it’s extremely expensive! It’s advertising to the WORLD to come here, and we’re already filled with the homeless from other states and, from the world, and it’s NOT sustainable!! I like Newsome, but sanctuary city is insane!!

It's a tough choice for me.

Great Insights!! I like both cities. However, I'd prefer LA over San Francisco 8-10 times.

If I stay in Calif it would be near Monterey Bay or Los Gatos. I currently live in L.A., but I might move within 2 yrs closer to one of those cities.❤

Most people that talk bad of California have never really stayed here. 40 million people can’t be wrong.
