@@ricogothitz9997 yes you can. Go ahead. It will work like a normal external hard disk bro. All your old personal files+windows files will be there. If you are not going to use your laptop afterwards, you can even delete the windows files for some more space....

I guess I can use this technique so I can save my files. I ran a diagnostics test on my laptop and the hard drive works fine . I just want my files to be saved I have to much school work that I do not want to lose .

That's precisely the problem, one day it was recognized but I didn't back up all my info... then another day my laptop no longer recognizes it... I thought the drive could be broken but I can still see pictures on my tv so... It must be working.
