Shettar wanted to relax (without ministership post) that is why he was denied a ticket. This is what I suspected too. He is a lazy man
🤦 Shettar felt humiliated to work under Bommai whom he had defeated in 1994. He felt the party was sidelining him. Not given enough respect and importance that he deserved. For example Annamalai was given more importance in the party than Shettar. He had self respect. Couldn't take it anymore. And left the party.
