The first accessory I've gotten so far was a lanyard for the DJI RC. I initially got it so as not to drop the RC off a bridge while concentrating on flying from one, but it turned out to be really handy otherwise. Now if I need two hands for something while holding the RC, I can just let it hang down then pick it up again easily. (The one I got was by SEASKY and was good quality, though I'm sure there are plenty out now that will all work just fine.)
I'd love a video on using a CPL filter, if you need a video idea; I haven't tried one, but I've read they're directional (which makes sense, I know a bit about optics), and I've gotten confusing reports about what happens when they're not angled correctly, from "does nothing" (which would be fine) to "makes the sky look weird with asymmetric lighting", which would be a big deal.
Hi Mattheww, thanks for all your very useful videos. As a newbie, I'm finding them extremely useful. I've just bought the ND filters and the prop guard as they seem the most useful to me at the moment. Yes, even the ND filters as I'm looking to use the manual settings once I've got the hang of all the controls and done a few cinematic shots to get my eye in. Looking forward to all the fun of drone videography although TOAL restrictions are currently doing my head in!
2 velcro cable straps connected together are sufficient for a prop guard/prop holder. You can get a pack of a bunch of velcro straps for the price of one prop guard.
Thanks for another informative video, Matthew. I wonder of you can help I am getting the odd frame which flips the image upside-down. I end up cutting the frame out and stitching the back together (I use Adobe After Effects). Could this be a card issue, I am using a Lexar 633x 64GB Micro SD XC [3] 1.Which card do you recommend for my DJI Mini 3 Pro? My first drone btw, only got it two days ago and loving it. ive just bought the skyreat filters. it seems the plastic ones now come with an adjustable cpl filter. ive never used these before but your videos explain things well. the pack i have bought go from 8 to nd128 which im assuming will be fine for a beginner like myself. would you say the uv filter (even as just a lens protector) is worth getting?

Just got back from Rhodes and to my shock I've discovered the vinaigrette you mentioned from the Freewell which has spoiled my videos I did in the old down, didn't notice while in flight as it was bright, good to know there's less chance of the and the 3 pro. I would suggest you get a silicon case for the remote as well.
CPL filter is hardly used by people, you need to have it 90 degrees in relation to the sun, and when the drone is up in the air, you can't really tell how it will look, nor can you rotate it when it's up in the air.

I’m still holding off on the ND filters until I get more affiliation with the stock setup, a bit intimidated by them for some reason. Your videos are excellent.
I have the same propeller holder from skyreat but was to tight so i heate a littlebit and streach a little and work perfect now, just a bit and tested until fit correct
I use an orange, hard foldable landing pad (so it won’t blow away or need ground spikes for prop snags) It’s hood forces still locating me and my home point when manually landing. A high quality add card is essential. Emphasis on ‘high quality’ (Sandisk)

The strap for the RC controller is really good to have as well
I fitted a screen protector as soon as I got it but I also bought an anti-glare film protector as well to put over the top of that which helps in strong light
I had nothing but trouble with the ND filters on the mini2. Always a gimbal error regardless what I tried, I just stopped using them. I have the same "Glass" screen protecter on the mini3 Pro RC and find the touch screen is less responsive. I really need to push and hold, at least more then my 12P Max phone (mini2) with a similar protector. I have also found that the mini3 Pro needs a pretty smooth area to take-off, due to the rear props. I have never used "landing pads" on any DJI Mavic or mini2 and now I'm bringing a focus card to take-off and land, not a big deal. Really enjoy your videos! Yes the case notch out in the foam will accommodate the Mini 3 with the propeller holder.
however the case doesn’t have really enough room for external wall chargers or cables. you have to move things around and possibly cut out a new hole.

I have their Propellor Guard, I agree 100% it is outstanding. I was surprised by how well thought out and fitting it was, better than previous holders I've purchased for other DJI drones like the Mavic 2 Pro and the one that came from DJI for the MIni 2 with the Fly More Kit. Totally recommend it for the Mini 3 Pro which has props that catch easily on the bag without this,
I find the propeller guard is way too tight. afraid it's going to bend the props

One thing I must buy is a set of replacement sticks for the controller. Dropping one (or both) of these in loose dirt and/or long grass could prove impossible to find. Get them off by turning the filter counter-clockwise? Turn them on clockwise? or the other way around?

Hi, I just got the batt plus pack kit and wondering what is the maximum voltage when it is 100% charged, because mine have different voltage, for example batt plus A voltage for cell 1 and cell 2 are the same on 4.20V on the other hand the other batt plus for cell 1 is 4,20V and for cell 2 is 4,19V...is these normal? thanks in advance

Top tip for the gimbal cover - keep the foam piece from the box and place it behind, much much easier to fit the gimbal cover then! ;)

Screen protector is a good buy I think. Would rather scratch a cheap protector than the actual controller screen!
You have to remember judgment in this case is slightly biased because the items were sent to Matt freely, as a first look (which is code for incentivised review), and although Matt may remain unbiased, you will never actually know for sure.

Matt, this isn’t an attack, I just like to be transparent and make people aware. This person is basing a purchase decision on your video, which is what Skyreat want, but it’s not quite genuine is it. Regardless if you say it’s your personal opinion, the fact they were free will always put doubt in most peoples heads about how good they are actually are.

Nothing wrong with this comment ScouseTrooper. You are absolutely right, I was sent these items for free. I do however genuinely believe the screen protector is a great buy. Doesn't have to be a Skyreat one, I just used the Skyreat one and it was great. Some people would prefer a matt finish and if that's the case buy one with that finish.

Hello from the Ards Peninsula Matthew. I’ve ordered the PGYTECH cover for the RC controller. Same as I have for my “Smart controller”for the Zoom. Anker charger, lanyard & brackets, spare sticks as well.
Small word! Spare sticks are a good buy, they are quite easy to lose!
Looking forward to some sort of review on the ND filters as I have read that they create problems with sharpness when autofocus is set.

Would you recommend using the prop protectors during flight (the cage style)? If so, what brand/model do you recommend?
Personally I wouldn't. If you are flying out in the open you should be absolutely fine without one.
Hope you also include a lanyard and sticks for the controller.
One item which is not an accessory but can be important. Do you have a log book to recommend? I know how I wish it was organized. Always disappointed with the choices I have found.

I’m really confused which ND filter (and which brand I know you will test soon) for a bright Sunny day at the beach…meaning like a ND (which number) or a UV or a polarizing or a CPL…very confusing lol hope you respond with which you would recommend for a beach day that will make the water and sky pop with beautiful color 😀. I’m in Florida at the ocean. ND32 on Mavic 2 Pro works great on really bright days but so far I think Mini 3 needs 64 due to 1.7 aperture.
I purchased the screen protector via your link. However I’m a bit disappointed with them as one was chipped in the corner and neither of them will fit nicely over the screen without bubbles. I’ve spent the last hour trying every which way to apply these but it always seems to be the top right hand corner on both protectors can not shift the bubble. So when using the controller it blurs that section of the screen. Would be interested to know if anybody else has had this issue or is it just that I’ve had a bad batch.
I got all of those plus the RC rubber glove, propeller guard, and i'm surprised you left out SD card ;)
Now, the mini 2 came with the prop guard, didn't it? At least mine did, so I'm not sure. I like it actually to put in the my backpack or even jacket pocket when I am not putting it away in the camera backpack.
Is the proper guard kinda tight on the top propellers? I'm worried about mine changing the bend on the propellers.
Mine wasn't, but I have had comments from others saying theirs was. You can stretch it a little to loosen it, if it is. Hope that helps!

I just got the screen protector and the propeller holder as well. And the screen protector the first time did not work so I used the second one and it is perfect - would not know there is one on the screen.

Also you can get silicone covers for the controller for around £7 that stops scratches on your controller when in bag

I have the Freewell All-Day Day ND filters - only minor annoyance is that the original DJI lens cover is too thick to fit in the case. I believe that's also the case with DJI's own filters. Bit of an oversight imo.

We did consider this; however, by giving space to that empty frame, we will risk all other filters being damaged by leaving gaps in between.
Since I got my Mini 3, I have never placed an empty frame anymore; it should be replaced with UV for a better protection.
Even DJI own filter set doesn't allow to store that blank frame so they are giving message with that.

I sent mine back to amazon. And reviewing the comments, there were others that said the same thing, the propeller holder is too tight. it bends my propellers. it is a nice snug fit and fits in my new hard case but i am afraid that keeping this wrapped around your propellers could permanently bend them. What do you think? comments? (yes I have the propellers in their correct storage position)
I am wondering the same thing!!! seems too tight, not so much on the bottom but the top for sure.
Skyreat need to adjust the prop guard, it’s way too tight. You can’t close it properly without really pulling tight on it which then bends the props. I had to put mine in boiling water and stretch it out quite a few times. Now it fits ok, but you shouldn’t have to do this for it to work. I’m not the only person to suffer this, read it on Amazon reviews and also from several people in Mini 3 groups.
Really, this is good to know. I haven't really noticed this issue myself but will pay more attention next time it put it on now. After you stretched it has it returned to it's normal length or is it still ok?
I bought the case but will return it since the foam is just cut too tight. Until I found a wide ribbon to put under it to pull it out with, I could not get the controller out without screwing in the gimbals, and pulling really hard on them to get it out. Also when the RC Controller is in the foam, it presses the Right and left top button down the whole time. Well really, that can't be good for it! I must say the Drone cut out is perfectly sized. it's just a shame that this case is damaging my RC Controller.

It takes me time to get use to it. Just be yourself. It is not a critic. Just takes time to adapt my ears.

Not sure about the mini 3 but for the mini 2 I was using extendable feet attachments to give a bit more ground clearance. Cheap, easy to fit and quite handy
They're available for the mini 3 as well, but it brings the drone over the weightlimit of 250 grams
