- The plaintiff hired the defendant to help her children get to the United States from Haiti. She claims that instead of helping her, the defendant scammed her, so the plaintiff is suing for a refund. The defendant insists he tried to help the plaintiff and did a lot of work, but the plaintiff provided fake birth certificates, so he couldn’t complete the job.
He thinks he is all of that and a bag of chips with his dyed black scalp.😂😂😂

i moved to germany from south africa, i wanted to use an agency to assist me, theres no guarantee from them if your paperwork is not right, it costs lots of money if using a agency

My daughter-in-law is from Haiti and their family did it legally but there are many predators out there that will take advantage of those who do not know and these predators need to be shut down.

I get what you're saying because I was feeling that way too, then this episode reminded me why I watch everyday for the past 20 years. Her parents were immigrants from Cuba. I feel she always rules solely on the law and the situation. She does show compassion but also will tell you like it is.
You clearly haven't seen enough episodes (I'm jealous of that bc I'm running out of new ones). But she has an enormous heart. I've seen her hold her tears, and she's tried so many times to teach people how to forgive and move on.

Please watch the emotional episode of where a young girl was harbored from her parents for over a week. JM was LIVID wth harboring parents and gave full judgment to girl's parents and even gave legal advice. Was horrid! 😢

This poor woman, this broke my heart. She clearly thought she was doing the best thing, and tried so desperately to do the best by her family. I can only imagine her pain and heartbreak. I'm so glad the judge went back and gave her a hug. That didn't feel like an act, that was genuine earth shattered gratitude. I get the sense that she was just so glad to be heard, to be listened to, and to finally get someone to genuinely help her. Bravo to the judge and I'm so glad she got the first step of help, and I only hope the best for her future and getting reunited with her family.

This is a case proving the diligence of the American legal system. There are several cases of scam in other countries and the victims are left high and dry, and getting in touch with a judge is a real problem in those countries like where I live. People in high offices abuse their power to stiff ordinary citizens out of their money for services they need them do. Thank you judge Milian for your verdict.

Adoption changes the natural parents in all US States. I adopted two children and both birth states reissued the birth certificate with me as the birth father. No other paperwork needs to accompany that certificate-I am considered the natural parent. It sounded like Haiti does the same, but the plaintiff couldn’t seem to get it across. I’m surprised JM didn’t seem to understand that.

As a Haitian American; They BOTH knew what they were doing. There’s all sorts of ways to get someone into the U.S. My friends from India do it all the time. Bring them in the U.S. to work for a few months. Once they make a certain amount of money, send them back and get the next family member to work at there place of business.

The plaintiff know what was going on. The guy was going to apply for bogus visa . Probably a student visa for his seminar and they children was going to overstay. Happens alot unfortunately.
I cannot STAND people like him. Do it the right way, lady. Get a good immigration lawyer, file the paper work, and while it may take time/years, it’s legit.

Immigration is a pain in the ass. My husband is Canadian and it’s been over two years and tedious as hell trying to get him to be able to live here permanently.
You definitely need a lawyer to do it correctly, unfortunately. It would be too time intensive to not have a lawyer, file and be missing paperwork required. It’s all very convoluted.
I am Canadian, I was sure it was easy for us because a lot of actors and singers live in the US. Was your husband born in Canada? If he has another nationality, that might be the problem...

Wow so sorry to here your story.My husband is French and I received a visa for 1 year to live in Franc. We got married in France and we went to the American embassy there we filed all the papers ourselves, but we had to prove that he had money to support himself until he found a job and I had a job too I'm a teacher. It took 1 year for the paper work and he received a conditional green card and we arrived to the USA .We received a letter from immigration for a interview for the permanent green card .I was pregnant by that time so he received his permanent card right there. They saw it was a real marriage not fake for the green card.That was 30 years ago my husband found a job 1 month after we arrived as an engineer the same as in France we did everything by ourselves ,we didn't use a lawyer good luck to you guys.I just received my carte de sejour for France my French green card because we plan to go back and forth when we retire, we also kept our home there.My son has dual Nationality Good luck.
Of course this is tongue in cheek with truth, but he would have more luck flying to Mexico and walking across the border. Then the red carpet would be rolled out for him.

Reminds me of the whole Pat Robertson controversy in 2010. The press only reported the incredibly stupid stuff he said instead of the millions in supplies including equipment to provide Haitians with potable water. His relief efforts after the earthquake saved a lot of lives. By contrast a Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean's "charity org" for his country was a scam just like the defendant who is also Haitian. So it turns out the guy who did more for Haiti than anyone else was forgotten. He's actually a tragic hero.

You do not require an attorney for immigration filing. I met my husband online and went 2 meet him in Jamaica in person. When I returned, I filed for a K-1 fiance visa. We were approved, he came here 2 America, we were married within the 90 days, filed for his green card, changed his status, naturalized and he is now citizen and I did ALL of the paperwork myself...It is no small deal, but I never even spoke with an attorney.
