Most Nigerians are hard-working, friendly people who want to help their country be the best it can and should be in Africa. When you're a petro producing country, there's no reason why the money received couldn't be used to improve the lives of all Nigerians.....

You came to and says in Nigeria there's traffic everywhere that's a big lie. Base In Lagos Nigeria and not everyone staying in Nigeria love to move to Lagos due to Lagos life style. I've also been to Port Harcourt. Traffic there is just as bad a Legos. Also, I've never said traffic was bad everywhere in Nigeria. I said the infrastructure doesn't support the demands of an average Nigeria. I believe it's something we can agree on. I've stated that Nigeria is misunderstood. That all of the country isn't bad, but it has bad parts just like any other country

Yes, I'm safe in America just as I felt safe in Nigeria. Regardless, I'm not talking about the US. I'm talking about Nigeria based on my experiences going there.

This video was completely unnecessary and misrepresents Nigeria, a country of over 200 million people. It's disappointing to see such a portrayal coming from a fellow black person, something one might expect from Western media. Nigeria is incredibly diverse and vast, with both good and bad areas, much like any other country. I live in one of the most dangerous cities in America, yet you don't see Nigerians generalizing the entire city as dangerous. Despite the poor infrastructure in some places, people are still encouraged to visit. Travelers know they need to be cautious, just as they would in Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago.
Referring to "Nigeria" broadly without specifying particular areas or cities is misleading. Is traffic terrible in Ado-Ekiti, Akure, Ile-Ife, Festac Town in Lagos, Sakponba Road in Benin City, or Badagry in Lagos? No, and failing to mention specific areas only spreads misinformation. Warning about spicy food is also unnecessary; anyone with basic knowledge knows that Nigerian cuisine, like Mexican food, is often spicy. Yet, you don't see people cautioning about Mexican food in the same way, which is both hilarious and silly.
This video will likely do more harm than good. Instead of attracting subscribers, it might cause people to unsubscribe and avoid your channel. Nigerians are known for helping channels grow quickly, but this unfair and unnecessary video has likely ruined that opportunity. There are so many positive topics you could have showcased about Nigeria, such as "Beautiful and Interesting Cities to Visit in Nigeria" or "Fun and Fascinating Facts About Nigeria."
In the future, consider focusing on the rich culture, vibrant cities, and the welcoming nature of Nigerian people. Highlighting mostly positive aspects, while putting little words of caution about relevant and general dangers that are important to know about, in any city, would be far more beneficial and would encourage a more accurate and appreciative understanding of Nigeria.
To further illustrate my points, let's examine the thumbnails you've chosen for your videos. The disparity is striking and clearly shows a bias against Nigeria. For this video, you used an image of a skull, symbolizing death and evil. This is not only misleading but also unfairly negative. In contrast, your thumbnails for videos about European cities, where crime rates can be just as high or even higher than in Lagos, are beautiful and inviting.
This choice of imagery is problematic for several reasons. Firstly, it perpetuates a harmful stereotype about Nigeria, painting it as a dangerous and undesirable place. This is far from the truth. Nigeria, like any other country, has its challenges, but it is also a nation rich in culture, history, and beauty. By using such a negative image, you overshadow the positive aspects and contribute to a one-sided narrative.
Secondly, this bias can have real-world consequences. Potential visitors to Nigeria might be deterred by this portrayal, missing out on the country's vibrant cities, friendly people, and unique experiences. The choice of thumbnails for your European videos further highlights this issue. By selecting attractive and welcoming images for these cities, you present them in a positive light, encouraging viewership and interest. This stark contrast in presentation between your European and Nigerian videos is not only obvious but also wrong.
Instead of resorting to sensationalism and negative stereotypes, consider using thumbnails that reflect the true diversity and vibrancy of Nigeria. For instance, images of bustling markets, beautiful landscapes, or cultural festivals would provide a more balanced and appealing representation. This approach would not only be fairer but also more informative and engaging for your audience.
