Being from LABRADOR , Born and raised , I have NOT EVER carried any metal what so ever to set my tent , having been hunting , trapping and fishing for more than my 50 plus years. I have sewn my own tents a few times from " scratch " WITHOUT A MACHINE at one time ! However , if you have $ 4 ,000 dollars to or 2, buy the tent , easy peasy. Great video by the way.
My brother and I have 2-10×12s, 1-12×14, all 3 Davis tents, they're a great tent, great customer service, quality product. We've been using them for over 20 years.

I like the way you make your tents.What I would like to have is the biggest tee- pee. Davis makes. The Term pee. Is still the best tent to have.
We do not make tee pee tents. We do make a single pole tent.
Thanks for the video, just curious as to why you did away with the 14 X 16 and also, why you didn't review the windows?
We went away from the 14x16 for a number of reasons. #1 our material comes in 5' lengths. In order to make more wall tents it makes sense production wise to keep our tent lengths in increments of 5'. We can still make a 14x16.

QUESTION: Why not extend the sod-cloth up the sides/doors about 12 inches for ultimate protection at ground level? Would be easier to keep clean / quicker drying than canvas at ground level. No?

I’m not really sure because I’m unfamiliar with the strength and the OD of a closet rod. We would love to know how it works if you give it a try!

Can a person get higher side walls?

Does this tent not have a floor?
Carolyn Sparks you can go to their site , google Davis tent and awning , from my research davis tent has the best looking floor tarp , it's tan and it livens up the place compared to other floor tarps , like the dark green ones and so on .
You can choose from several floor tarp options , i webt for the "cut out" one where the ground is exposed only around the tent stove , but you can also choose one that only covers 3/4 of the ground inside the tent
