you're supposed to let go of w when s tapping. this causes your character to move backwards, which you can use to reset your sprint. holding s and w at the same time, which is what adviser did in this video, produces the same effect as traditional w tapping.

the way adviser is doing it is thr same as normal w tap
the interval just depends on how long you hold s down
you can do the same by letting go of w for longer
real s tapping is achieved by letting go of w and then pressing s
kinda at least
just watch a keystrokes vid and you will get it

Pressing s while holding w will bring you to a stop significantly faster than letting go of w. This can actually be pretty important if you just barely get a rod combo or something.
