Becose dream was in the stone he didnt age. Nightmare forgot about his brother or anything about his past before the axident. Dream doesnt remember anything eather, only his name. Horror decited to take dream home with him becose he reminded him of himself when he was all alone.

Would not surprise me if horror leaves dream there and tells nightmare that a yellow skeleton is in an au or nightmare can feel dreams negativity but when nightmare sees dream and says hi dream goes umm do I know you?
Well in my AU nightmare and dream doesn't remember they're past becose it was 500 years ago, if ya wanna understand it better the expectation of my AU is in the description
