- We went to Dragon Quest Island!
This new area in Nijigen no Mori on Awaji Island opened only yesterday (May 15th 2021)!
As a fan of Dragon Quest I’ve really been looking forward to this one. Even if you aren’t a fan I absolutely recommend this place!
We had so much fun doing quests around the town, fighting monsters in the forest and doing boss battles!!
The restaurant had delicious food and the gift shop had all kinds of adorable slime merch.
We weren’t allowed to film the boss battles and some of the videos related to the quests. I also didn’t want to upload the answers to the quests so I didn’t show everything around the town.
I hope you enjoyed this video and thank you so much for watching!

As a lifelong MASSIVE Dragon Quest fan, hearing the town music start to play near the vendors actually brought a tear to my eye.
Same.

*Can’t wait to spend 90 hours doing all the side quests and the main story!*
it'll take 4-5 hours at most.
according to the website
It took me 2 hours to finish
I'm so impressed that they offer a full English experience, and it's been properly translated with all the quirky English puns as well! They're obviously expecting lots of international tourists. Meanwhile... new Dragon Quest theme park in Japan and there's hardly anyone there. What the--??
probably because of the rain
@@miguelferrer7251 and covid
Yes!
@@MrKJ444 Raining COVID.
... oh I hope I didn’t jinx that into existence.
@@RandomShinigami7 too late, covid is raining down on us
dragon quest is literally the only thing that'll bring a tear to my eye of how amazing is! it brings me nothing but pure joy when i start hearing the music
I'm still a pretty recent Dragon Quest fan, but this is amazing and I now really want to go
Oh man, I so love DQ😍 & this looks insanely great😍😍 thanks so much for doing this video!!
WOAH!!!😍😍😍😍AND THE MUSIC!!!!!! I would cry tears of joy instantly omg
The algorithm brought me here (because I like Dragon Quest) and I'm glad it did. You two are adorable and I _need_ to visit that place when I go to Japan next year. I love that they offer that experience in English! Thanks for the video!
Thank you! 🥰 I’m glad it brought you here 😃
I live in Tokyo since 2015 and I am sooo happy I found your channel so I can watch videos from other cities of this beautiful country too very interesting ☺️☺️ Me and my japanese husband are big big Dragon Quest fans so we will surely go next year!!
何て言ってるか全然分からないけど、楽しいことは分かった👍私も行ってみたい🎵
This was definitely a enjoyable experience! If I ever get to go visit Japan, I'll definitely see if I can come here for a day or so
I have to say, this more interesting than the Super Nintendo world.
It’d be cool if Nintendo World had something similar to this for Zelda or Metroid. I don’t know if it does or not, everything I seen for Nintendo World has been Mario based
That was the best... makes me want to come to Japan...just to go here. You guys look like you had fun. Great video 😊
There’s even Mini Medals hidden all over the place! Heck yeah!
Now THIS. This is a place where I can happily die.
Made me wonder if they include the graveyard.
This is insane. It's so meticulously designed to play and feel like an RPG. It seems like those enemies you can battle can actually kill one ur party members if you're not high level enough. So its not like you can just waltz in and fight whatever you want. You also need good equipment as well which you get by receiving gold by completing quests.
Further establishing that Dragon Quest is THE JRPG. And a series that actually cares about being one first and foremost, unlike FF which focuses so much on telling a cinematic story.
As a huge DQ Fan since the 80s, this looked so amazing! The merchandise looked so good!!!
I can't express how much I need to go there. Thank you so much for making this video and giving us a look 😁
In my headcanon, the evil lord spread a foul miasma in the area, which is why the townsfolk are wearing masks and gloves
This theory reminds me a bit of DQ 9. One boss is a plague monster that causes an entire town to fall ill.
Honestly, with Corona, this would actually make a really good inspired story & even game
@Bacon Pancakes i... think that was what OP was referencing...
This is a brilliant video to stumble upon, i've been playing Dragon Quest for years and i would have never thought of something like this being built!
also the video and you guys are really fun to watch! very informative too without you making it so! this will definitely be going on my bucket list of things to do when i finally visit japan, thanks!
I've subscribed i hope to see more content! :)
Thank you so much! 😊
Thanks for showing us this! Looks like a lot of fun!
This is just about the coolest thing I have ever seen. I love how they translated everything for foreign tourists as well. Too bad they won’t do the same thing and localize DQX.
😂 honestly tho. They could just as easily too! And give it cross platform play Switch and Playstation UGH. Sometimes Square Enix makes me so mad. When they made that horrible game Balan Wonderland or whatever, they could have instead been localizing DQ X :(
This is the greatest thing I ever saw!!!!!! I can’t believe this is a thing!!!!! Thank you sooo much for sharing!!!
This is even cooler than I ever imagined, thank you for sharing your experience!
I am shooketh. This looks like it would have been so much fun.
This looks great! Definitely want to check this out one day. I love Dragon Quest!
WOW! I'm amazed they have everything in English, that's so awesome! Thank you for sharing your experience with us, I would love to go and do this myself someday.
This looks so fun. I definitely want to go some day!
They always have amazing people working on the DQ localizations.
omg I fell in love with the white slime bun😍
It's so nice to see many foreign fans of Dragon Quest as it's been told that DQ is not so popular overseas
I just LOVE LOVE how this video ended, GREAT JOB! 🔥💯
They're using a mix of different games' graphics. It's funny !
Your characters are based on Dragon Quest Walk's characters.
The NPCs are based on DQVIII and sometimes DQHeroes
The surroundings of the battles and the monsters are based on DQXI
Dont forget the music of dq3
@Serena Nintendo That explains a lot about FFXIV considering Yoshida works on both.
@@dxrbkn5145 Zoma is also from DQIII
Looks like the onion slimes and king onion slimes are a Awaji Island regional specialty, not from DQX.
@@mattwo7 Yep! Onion Slime is original to this park! I love how they included regional produce into the park.
What a great video! Thank you sooooo much for posting. I watched every second of it, glad u got the slime in the gift shop!
Thank you! ☺️
The rare time I am happy with the algorithm. This is epic.
Wow I've been so invested into the game and the anime and I never even knew this existed. It's really amazing I've got to go try this one day.omg that food looks amazing this is like every dragon quest fan dream 🥳
This looks FANTASTIC.
Do a double trip of this and Super Nintendo world
IDAIFOLL
Looks like the Dragon Quest Heroes from Smash have their own theme park. They can visit Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios anytime
Heck yeah!
I thought the same😅👌
This is so neat! Thanks for the vid. I woulda loved to see Sylvando or Yangus, but this is pretty cool
I would of had a fanboy meltdown seeing Erdrick's Sword in real life like that!
would have had*
Dudes I'm so happy this is in english and it has the iconic Goo-fy writing charm along european accents.
I'm pretty sure they got the original localisation writers to do all this or maybe they gave SE japan the Bible/Reference book of how to do simple english translations of dragon quest content on a small scale like this.
I would be so happy to go here and play this.
That slime puff-puff at the end XD
this looks super amazing!
This looks so incredibly awesome!
Thanks for the day trip!
It won't be a complete experience until we see people cosplaying as the entire cast of Yakuza: Like a Dragon in this park. Especially Kasuga.
Kasuga would've loved this place for sure.
ドラクエ好きな海外の方がこんなにいるとはびっくり!
楽しそうな動画でこちらもわくわくしました(^^)
I really really want to go here lol
This made me think of a possible theme park where, you go and rent an equipment of what class you wanna be then party on some random strangers that participated in the event as well and go beat a set game given, like an mmorpg
Oh I would literally cry if I went there someday!! So awesome!!!
Omg this looks so much fun!
I didn't know there was a Dragon Quest Island at Nijigen no mori?! Thanks for providing the awesome footage, I've gotta go there!
Bold prediction: you're going to hear the same song throughout the entire park
It do be like that in dragonquest sometimes tho
It seems to play specific area music (in regards to the game).
For example, they were in town so we heard town music. The moment they crossed the gate, they can hear field exploration music.
It makes sense for the DQ Overture theme to play at the front entrance.
GOOD. Good...
OK, that is REALLY cool! Thanks for doing such a great video.
This is so cool! Thanks for posting!
Wow super cool. Love Dragon Quest 🐧🐰
Wow so cool i want to go 😀😁
This is so rad
This actually looks really cool and fun!
Thank you so much for filming this! I hope I get to go there one day! =)
This is amazing! I've never wanted to go to Japan so bad
This is so so cool! I absolutely want to go!
Oh man, this just made my bucket list of places to visit.
Omg, my favorite jrpg get's a theme park of it's own ❤ another extra to add to my Japan list when I visit.
And now I need to spend my life’s savings DQ is my favorite video game series
I’m definitely going there someday. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing, loved it.
Added this to my list of places I want to go before I die. So cool!
Wow, that place looks AMAZING!
Putting this on my bucket list!
finding out this exists has made my day, im such a big fan of DQ and didnt know this existed until coming across this video.
Nice video, I didn't even know this was a thing. It is really cool that they have it in english as well.
so gooreat of them to include english text on all the displays
Man! This place looks freakin awesome! I need that slime Merch tho!
Ok, that is freaking cool... thanks for showing it ! I want to go !
What a neat experience! I am so jealous! I hope I can visit someday!
UGGGH THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY AWESOME!!!! I WISH I COULD GO TO THIS!
INCREDIBLEEEE 🖤
Amazing! Wonderful!
yooo this is cool af makes me want to revisit all the games i played growing up
i love all the goo puns... theyre so fun
I've never played a Dragon Quest game, but dang this is amazing!
This looked like so much fun
It’s amazing how this exists
It's been like a week since I finished my first dragon quest game, it was dragon quest builders, and honestly I really loved it
Dragon Quest Builders, huh? The second Builders game is even better than the first.
I would absolutely love to go here with my siblings someday!! We’ve been playing Dragon Quest IX together lately and it’s been so fun, definitely one of my favorite games. I’m glad they have everything in English too, I’ve never travelled abroad nor have any foreign language skills so it’s nice to see it’s accessible :) would also love to go to the gift shop and buy metal slime plushies
Yea....i'm very jelly!! I definitely need to visit this place when i move back to Japan!!
Looks like so much fun!
This looks like so much fun! I want to be able to travel there sometime.
This is my hometown and my favorite game.
I'm gonna add this to the list of reasons why I should visit Japan more often.
This was great, so much stuff I would have bought at the end! 🛡
Oh wow, that looks so fun!
jeez id be freaking out. thats cool as hell!!!
I want to go!!!! This looks awesome~
I'm sorry but the puff-puff reference at 15:35 just had me laughing so hard! Well done!
so cool!! 楽しんでるのが見てる側にも伝わってくるいい動画:)
This is so great! I'm planning on going at the end of the year with my family if japan opens up by then. How long did it take you to complete the entire quest?
It took us about 2 hours :)
@@KelseaDyer thank you!
Wow, looks fun! I have never played Dragon Quest but I like these kinds of experiences. I live in Hyogo prefecture so should find some time sometime to check it out!
They designed this to play exactly like a DQ game. Amazing!
Wow it's a dream for all Dragon Quest fans i like it
So awesome! Wish I could go
