if your words or true then kaeda is actually a yangire cause she was sweet at first and became even violent to the person she like accusing him for her mother's death and abusing him it's later she understand what she did and try to make it up to him by doing everything for him (cooking,cleaning etc) she also found out about her feelings for him so she turn into a yandere
I guess you could say Kaede is a yangire when she is a child,because it is stated that she was a sweet child who became violent to the point of attempted murder due to her mother's death. In the VN that's the end of it and the grown-up Kaede instead wishes to just serve Rin as her penance for her actions (no crazy violent feelings involved). In the anime, grown-up Kaede is a Yandere and a very stereotypical one at that. That said, I thought Sekai became violent due to love. Then again I tried to erase all my memories of School Days and I'm not going back to confirm this.
Kaede was nothing like this in the visual novel. In fact, she was the exact opposite of a yandere...she was sweet and innocent and didn't have much trouble letting Rin go. I find it rather annoying, how they changed her to be like this.
It`s her identical twin sister with the same name. I don`t think there are many other explanations. It is the same reason Saijoni Sekai gets more selfish with each adaptation of School Days. They`re not the same person. They just conveniently have the same name, appearance & all.
I prefer Asa, she was the only girl who didn't use underhanded means to make Rin fall for them. She was true to herself the entire time and their relationship developed naturally as love should.
In the VN none of them end up forcing RIn to do anything. Kaede even rejects Rin (the Yandere Kaede is a fabrication of the anime based around the story of the cruel Child!Kaede) and both Nerine and Primula push him away in their own ways (Nerine basically decides to return home and Primula locks away his memories of her). So in the VN Rin actually has to push for the girl he wants. Asa is actually the most straightfoward romance and their only real issue was the whole "no magic" crap.

In the VN Kaede is shown to be completely repentant of her actions as a child, to the point she believes she does not deserves to be RIn's girlfriend. In fact, her route in the VN is about her REJECTING Rin's advances because all she wants is to "serve" RIn as a punishment for her past actions. That's the complete opposite of how she acts in the animates series. Which is weird because the rest of the arcs were pretty accurate,like Primula's story (although the VN's story is more about her starting to act more adult-like and human and leading to her powers going out of control rather than just going out of control out of nowhere). And the winning girl's story (Asa) is exactly the same, with her refusing to use her magical abilities and her health getting worse because of it.
I never got those harem animes all these girls like one guy when there are clearly other boys to chase after and most of the time its obvious who he like and will end up with

When people watch movies they are most of the time perfectly able to feel the story because they don`t so much identify WITH the character as they identify AS the main character. Same with comics and games, and I just wish manga`s (and lots of other media) got that memo.

yuka and yuno are alot different though. yuka doesnt start going crazy til in mid series. and yuka and kakeru were really close and grew up together and she was his emotional support where as yuno started off as yukiteru's stalker. yuka is so sweet an innocent though she is emotionally and phsyically frail unlike yuno and i think the reason she goes yandere is out of a paranoia of being abandoned unwanted or forgotten .
oh yeah thats also part of the reason. though i feel really bad for her she wasnt in the right state of mind and couldnt think strait ,it was almost like something eating her away...
@katelyj Here is two things Shuffle! could of done: One- they could of taken the Clannad Afterstory route and continued on with the relationship between Asa and Rin and persue the other characters stories after that day (like where Kaede and Sia kissed in the credits, that could of been an interesting plot twist and bring closer to Kaede's obsession) Or they could of persued the other story archs, with Asa, Kaede, Nerene, and Primula as the love interest that Rin eventually chooses

Even when I tried to do stuff I thought would make Mia (said yandere) happy. The first bad ending everyone apart from her died horribly. Second bad ending, my character goes over to her house, and is never seen or heard from again. :O
