Sky walk | Calicut University Campus

"𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝘆𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸." ♥️
Rs 2-crore worth tourism project is rusting in the Calicut University campus. The skywalk built as part of the 'Forest Neighbourhood' project of the tourism department five years ago is corroding.
The construction of skywalk was stopped halfway in the natural forest region close to Villoonniyal in university campus. About half-kilometer-long skywalk was built using iron bars, in the height of trees. The project also included watch towers to view the forest from a certain height and cafeteria. The then minister of tourism A. P. Anilkumar inaugurated the construction that started in 2015 February.
The construction was stopped in its last phase. Weeds and shrubs have covered the iron bars that is worth lakhs of rupees. Though it was inaugurated in the campus, university has no connection with the project. Also the university has not signed the agreement with tourism department regarding the proprietorship and implementation of the project. This place was actually marked by the botany department of the university to prepare an arboretum, a botanical collection composing exclusively of trees for their conservation
