Great to see you guys trying food from the SEA region, especially Singapore! Carrot cake is so called because it's made with cubes of shredded radish + rice flour (the mixture is pressed into rectangular cakes, then chopped into smaller chunks/cubes), and radish is also known as "white carrot" in Mandarin! I love both Asian and Western carrot cake, haha.

Martabak is kinda similar to pancake... But it is served with differenr flavour such as "cheese + chocolate" or "peanut+chocolate" and other combination. Essentially just a pan of sweet sin🤣🤣🤣

@@Bufflunch HIGHLY recommend eating martabak. There's two types of martabak, martabak manis(sweet) and martabak telor(egg). Martabak manis is like a very thick pancake with sweet fillings sandwiched between the two breads. There are more filling options of martabak manis than what I can't count. But personally, I would recommend the chocolate, cheese and condensed milk. On the other hand, martabak telor has a more savory flavor. It mainly consists of, you guessed it, eggs, and is usually dipped with vinegar. Unlike the sweet variant, the martabak telor stays mostly the same across all food stands.
