Chat was right; it's a really sexist way of thinking. Having a job means not having to find something to keep your brain busy, and while I'm not a girl, if I were with a guy who told me to quit my job so he could support me I would wonder how I got involved with him in the first place. He definitely still has a School mindset: right now he has the easiest access to any kind of training he'll ever have in his entire life. It seems like work and a hassle then, but it's far more difficult to find ways to effectively learn new skills as an adult when you have to work enough to support yourself. He doesn't know what kind of salary he needs to support two people and he's already imagining that he can do so on his own.
