He’s doing Pesci
It’s usually what dads say to their sons
I love how they made Buscemi the senior man of the firehouse. Considering how he was a FDNY firefighter before he became an actor.
He also was there, on the front lines, along with Pete Davidson's father (who died). Buscemi worked round the clock during and after 9/11 at his old firehouse.

I swear Davidson displays the utmost depression at all times.
You should watch the time Jimmy Fallon did a zoom interview with Pete and Judd Apatow. Pete's moods are manic. I have seen other interviews where he acts real happy, giggly, and hyper.

I can’t believe I’m watching Bill Burr be embarrassed by someone else being over the line and completely egregious, it’s a total role-reversal. Excellent scene.
I swear Pete's lines were eritten by burr. It literally sounds exactly like something he would say
Bill Burr is an awesome comedian and he played a convincing and funny thug in BrBa, but he really showed his acting ability in this heartwarming tale.
Davidson, Burr, Buscemi, Jimmy Tatro, Dom from Entourage... solid cast
Pete is trash and not worthy of this cast

@Johnny Savage The actors like each other. I don't think it is clear wether or not their characters like each other early in the movie.
Feel like he might’ve made this scene a little personal
I mean a lot of this film is modelled off his own life and childhood in Staten Island. I’m pretty sure in an interview somewhere he said he’s basically playing himself

Glad to see Pete raising awareness for Crohn's disease. I was diagnosed in January 2020 with it. It's disappointing how many people don't seem to even be aware it is an actual condition.
Not to be to be too nosey, but was Pete’s description accurate? It seems like quite a burden if it is.

Pete's performance in the film, especially with the fireman rant, reminded me of Good Will Hunting. The way he's trapped in his anger and using words to only dig himself deeper is a very similar thing.
You're right. Reminds me of that first meeting between him and Robin William's character, Sean. They were testing each other and Will Hunting was just pushing any and every button he could find because of his anger towards all the previous psychiatrists that weren't really interested in helping him, knowing him, or truly challenging him in a way he could respect.
@I am the Best Which is why you are here watching a clip of his movie? 🤔 Maybe Pete became a millionaire because he spent time doing things he actually liked and not bothering people.

Now I gotta watch this movie, great scene. The acting, emotion and conversation feels real.
It’s a good movie I really enjoyed it
Pete Davidson dad really did die in 9/11 so it kind of is real.
If you’re into dark, grounded comedy, go for it. Pete Davidson excels when he’s not being forced to do political humour that he clearly doesn’t write or understand. He really turns in a hell of a performance, not just as a comedian but also as an actor. I don’t think this film would’ve been half as good with anyone else in the role.
Feels real? Seems like the kind of thing that only happens in a movie to me.

Love the reversal at the end, when Pete claps but Burr doesn't. It feels like something that Pete said resonated with Burr's character.
He was talking about Firefighters who die and leave their children if they are killed in action (which happened to Pete's dad). It would resonate very much since Burr's character has kids and it does make him worried about a time where that might happen to him.
@@MasonKLutz Worst thing I ever saw was my friend's Dad who was a firefighter turn up to a call for a car accident and it was his daughter who was in it, dead. We were pulled over behind and his scream/shout will live in my brain forever in a horrible place next to that phone call on youtube of the guy calling from the world trade centre when it started to collapse.
But why would that discourage a firefighter's kid from following in their parent's footsteps, even when they died in the line of duty?
What I love is the sarcastic “ YEAHHH AGAIN WHOOO “ when the crowd cheers .

I was here when they filmed this scene, I was working for the Stadium 2 years ago. I got to meet Davidson and burr both. What an awesome experience.
On top of Steve Buscemi having been a real firefighter before acting, he also did volunteer services the day of 911 with the firefighters in New York.
"I'm just trying to spread awareness" bet Bill came up with that line :D:D:D
I wish they would have included the fireman's response.
Watch the whole movie. They talk more about it and it's a good flick.
I loved how he was gentle with him when he could have ripped into him. Seemed to come from a place of understanding
One of the greatest comedy/drama scenes put to screen in a long time.
It's amazing how Bill Burr has managed to never appear in something else but good projects.

Steve Buscemi was so good in this. Real fire captain energy. Found out later he was a Firefighter and even volunteered during 9/11. His line when he talks to Bill Burr later with "what was the first thing you thought about when you heard [Pete's Dad] died?"... Bill Burr responds "Did he have any kids? ". And the firehouse essentially adopting him later really hit a heart string with me.

Bill Burr is a legit good actor. Great at reading and responding to emotion.
Davidson and belluchi, awesome. Steve actually went to the buildings on 9/11 to help the firefighters since he was as retired one and Davidson’s dad lost his life there😢
half way in i was like wait, aint his father a firefighter rip❤
That’s why the anger behind his monologue is so real. He went through everything this movie was about. He once said, the only reason he isn’t dead right now is because Comedy gave him an outlet for his emotions.

Not so good at articulating my emotions right now, but seeing Bill Burr in this movie makes me feel the same way I felt when I first saw chocolate covered oreos. Good, comforting cookie. Pete really did do a great job in this movie. His acting was great. It could have been a really great movie but there was a lot in it that didn’t need to be.
The movie is about his life and how he grew up why would he take anything out.
@@zombiehunter675 It was what his life might have been like, if he had not started doing stand up at 16 and became famous. I could see how they could have left out the part where he goes to the college party. The attempted robbery was too funny to leave out though.

The only thing extra was that 3rd statement you made. The movie is basically flawless, and any downtime is Pete's character growing as a person without outside influence. Kinda the whole point of the movie.
