Sims 4 Speed Build of a canal boat tiny home or rental in Henford-on-Bagley on 3 Olde Mill Lane lot. Available to download: Gallery ID: Isambardy 'The Canal Boat'
Hello! This is such an amazing build. I found something VERY similar on the gallery under my #DesignMeDevon hashtag, but my community has pointed out that you are the original creator and it appears to have been copied by them. I'm so mad about this, because this was your hard work! I will make sure to credit you as the original builder on the video, but if you would prefer I can take the video down on my end. I'm sorry this happened to you :(
Hi Aden, first of all I’m a big fan so it’s very surreal to see you comment on my video! Don’t worry it’s not your fault, no need to take the video down! These things happen, I guess I’m flattered they took inspiration from my build 😂 Thanks for reaching out, I really appreciate it 💛
@@isambardy I'm so glad it's ok with you! You're an amazing builder, and it's so nice to see more UK-based builds on YT, I just watched your 1930s Semi build and loved that too! I'm subbed to your channel now and shall be watching some more 😁 I'll send my community over to show some love too, nice to meet you lovely 🥰
This is brilliant! Seeing the thumbnail I genuinely thought this was a tiny home video for a canal boat :D And don't feel like a fraud for using the debug houses, this is so much easier and who would want to live in a brick house there anyways if you can have the canal boat?! :D
I loved this so much! I did study abroad in the U.K., and spent spring break on the Oxford Canal in a canal boat called the Camilla of Medley. There were six of us crammed into a space meant for 5. We had such a blast cruising up and down the canals. We even lost the boat once when we went into the village for provisions. We came back and discovered she'd become untethered. "Hey, is that our boat?!?" became the most infamous line uttered during the trip. Learning how to work the locks was quite the education too. I can't believe they rented it to a bunch of college kids. What were they thinking? Three tiles wide would have been more accurate, but I get why you made it four. very fancy. Anyway, this build brought back great memories. Thank you for that. Adding the shell buildings was just fine. In fact, they confused me in the thumbnail, and were the reason I clicked on the video. I had to know where this was built. You got me! Beautiful build!
This build is mind blowing! I used to live in Twickenham a few years ago and this reminds me so much of the boats I would see walking along the Thames. Brings back some wonderful memories and is totally gorgeous and realistic!! amazing work!❤❤
Instant follow. This is an incredible build, setting the scene really works! I’m so impressed you did this with no CC. Will be adding to my world shortly as a rental lot as you suggested.
I am in love! Can't wait for my Legacy Sims to live here. I know it is shameful that someone copied your work.... but this build has exposed you to a whole new audience. I have subscribed. Thank you!
This is SO creative and it looks so good - i just came from Aden's comments to check the original out, I hope this mishap :) drives lots and lots of people to your channel. I love watching UK Simmers build and you're a great realistic builder. Subscribed, I hope you get bumped to 1k+ subs!
shared the link in one of my groups. This is gorgeous. I think using the debug buildings in the background is GENIUS to give the illusion of a more filled out world.
Your builds are so pretty! This is the first video of yours that I've seen, but I'm looking forward to watching more. Your voice is very relaxing too :)
WOW!! I adore this build very much it's the best I've ever seen been made /designed ❤. I lived on a Narrow boat for a longtime in the UK and travel to remote beauty spots in the countryside and would see the sheep & rest of the farm animals greet me through my window each morning 😂but!!! I moorhen attacked me at breakfast whilst tried to eat my toast haha but I have no regrets even though I can't swim I found it cozy and peaceful.i sadly moved because of work in the city so I wouldn't have to commute 3 hours at 5am there and back 6 hours!! each day because I'm a Doctor & need to be closer to my hospital!! 😊
This is such a clever build. I live in a village with canals and it looks just like this. I think it is very clever to use the debug houses to give the effect of the canal going through a village and keeping the costs of the bills down. In real life you would only pay for your canal boat and not the rest of the houses. I will be using this idea of debug houses in my tiny builds to give the illusion of being in a village or a town. Really lovely build, thank you.
Just stumbled onto your channel, this is such a cute little build. I used to clean narrow boats when I was in college and this really looks like them 🥰
such a fun idea! can't believe I haven't done this myself, since I had a period of time when I was obsessed with canal boats lol. you did great, thanks for sharing :)
I love that you are using debug houses. Otherwise it would be too expensive and don't make sense when playing and have to do taxes for a mansion while living on a boat
You are a very talented builder, and I hope that more people discover your channel. If I may offer a suggestion, you sound a bit quiet. I have to listen on max volume in order to hear you. I'm looking forward to what you build next!
Hey Chloe, thank you so much for the suggestion on the audio, I have been worried about it I won’t lie! I’ll have another tinker with it before the next video🤞🏼
This is a very cute and fun build! The only thing bothering me is the front door with two open doors even though there’s only space for one door when closed. I know that’s super picky but i cannot get that out of my mind
Good spot! They’d be half the width in real life and I didn’t want to lose kitchen space by doing a double entry way, but yeah it really annoys me too 😂😂
This is so amizing, i'm still in the middle of the video but i hope u puted this on the galery couse i already have so many gaeplay ideas for this lot!!!!
This is so stunning & a concept that had never even crossed my mind. BTW, I think the _shhshhh_ sound from your microphone means you need to lower your gain. Either that, or use some sort of noise gate? My audio knowledge is very basic.
Thank you so much for the suggestion, I think you’re right! I have changed these on my videos since this one so I’m hoping it’s better 🤞🏼 but I may just need to get a better mic 😂
this is so clever and stunning! instant follow I do have a question tho (I've never been in one of these so I definitely don't know for a fact) but wouldn't the plates and delicate stuff be inside a cupboard instead of in the open in case the boat moves because of the water?
this build is lovely, but i had a really hard time hearing what you were saying 😭 i hope you’ll adjust your audio in the future bc your content is fantastic!!
Great video! I don't think you should feel like a fraud for using the debug buildings, because I think using them probably helps the lot function better for people with lower end PCs than if you actually built the houses. It also reduced the chances of a Sim trying to go wash dishes in one of the houses or something silly like that! 😜
I hate you. You're making me miss the boats from the Sims 3 Island Life... ;-) I'm just kidding (well, on the first sentence at least, the boats were cool, the game breaking bugs much less so...), but it is a really cute build! It's a shame there isn't a world builder as there is a boat permanently attached to a jetty in central London that could inspire a restaurant build, but there isn't really a world with a lot where it feels like it could be put in and it would fit. For the storage, it's a shame that someone hasn't done a modded sofa which also includes drawers, it's a feature of canal boats and caravans. There are also a lot of overhead cabinet type storage which isn't typically interactive in the Sims, so someone modding those would make sense (although it would be even better if they were added to a tiny home refresh so all players had access to them). Heck, even having functioning drawers at the end of a double bed would be a nice way to remove the need for a dresser. As for why you're back in Henford-On-Bagley, going by your accent (Surrey?), it makes sense that you're going to be able to build things more naturally there, you're not going to need to look up reference images to make it fit, you've probably seen a lot of it in your life time. I wish the Sims 4 would arrange worlds in clusters as I'd love to see what you and JessicaPie could do if you had to rebuild the high school town in an English style (I'm thinking somewhere like Reading), the University town maybe like Bristol, the San Myshuno City centre as somewhere like Birmingham - it bothers me enough in base game that you can casually walk from Willow Creek and Newcrest (which seem like Northern California) to Oasis Springs which feels like a completely different part of the country (Arizona? New Mexico?), so the immersion whiplash I will likely get from Henford-On-Bagley is going to be bad. If it clustered, and a sim spent time and money travelling to different 'clusters' (with townies mostly staying in their own cluster) it would make the worlds feel much more fully formed and individual or at least it would to me. We could also get our own British celebrities, although I don't know how popular a James Corden sim would be...
Wow what a great comment, thank you for sharing! Haha I do have a soft spot for Sims 3, even with its quirks. You’re so right on the storage, some more creative storage options for tiny homes would be great (I tend to not use mods so people on the gallery don’t have to download extra stuff). Really interesting points on the world builder and ‘clusters’ of worlds, especially given how many we have now with all the different packs! The game has gotten so much bigger over time than the original base game! Would also loooove to rebuild the worlds in British form, would be so fab!
@@isambardy Oddly, the clustering is an idea I get from Football Manager - in that, when you start a game, you choose how much detail the game goes in to, so you can have the big divisions in full detail, and then have it do quick and dirty calculations for the lower leagues. It means that the world is only as detailed as you want for the computer you have. Smaller computers can run a limited number of clusters, but people with higher spec ones could run it so all clusters are in full detail. I could see people in the sims running just one or two clusters (and maybe vacation spots), and maybe not all clusters would have all features, or they could be subtly different. Could you imagine an English cluster having the acting career being more theatre than film based? Would it have to lose most of the after school clubs like Cheerleading or 'football' because we don't tend to have those in the same way? I don't know if you have heard of Edenbridge, but could you imagine a little town with a few mock tudor homes, and a big park where each autumn they have a big fireworks festival? What about having celebrities unique to some clusters?... We could have a fight between clusters and the loser gets James Corden! I obviously don't know the technical side, but they are trying to introduce worlds with limited numbers of lots to help lesser machines run it (and I personally think that is great, and why I love builders who don't use CC - it lets more people play). It's why i think instead they should find a way that limits how many worlds a machine runs and find ways to add lots (relating to a pack) to existing worlds. That way, you're not adding more families and worlds to run in the background. The trouble is, it's a lot of work, and not very marketable - in the short term it creates a whole load of new worlds for people who have already bought the expansion packs. So alas, I think the idea will remain a dream... At least I can save my machine from having to run Batuu by avoiding the Star Wars pack! I'll be adding you to my subscribed list- selfishly I'm following the European and British builders so it might save me from having to try and build homes that are in a more familiar style. It's odd, I either have no ideas or impossible ides for building - I've been faffing about with glass roofs to see if I can make something like The Eden Project so I can put every plant in the game in one place that can be harvested all year round. Started and deleted three times so far... (And also, if you go to Cornwall, visit the Eden Project, but give yourself another day to visit the Lost Gardens Of Heligan - it's a lot of the same plant life, but there is sort of mystical beauty to Heligan than gets lost in the slightly sterile way the Eden project is put together)

curious on the two ovens for a small boat

please dont come for me but how did you plonk down the houses? Is that CC ?
