    Kevin is just plain awesome. He sold me a Prima Luna PLPIA (shipped to South Korea) and I have since upgraded it with Cryo tubes. Paired with ELACs its is definately the sweet spot. Hes not big on NEW tech like Roon, Raspberry Pi, or Volumio, etc. As a electronics tech/audio buff I like feeding my system with HiBit audio streaming. Its just much more "techie". The bottom line with Kevin and Prima Luna...both are in your corner and both understand value is backed up by your hard earned dollar. Kevin is my hero...just wish he would look into streaming solutions that are open source...guess hes too old school for that but never to late...

    Can you do a video highlighting the differences between the Evo integrated models (maybe the pres and amps too? The chart online for example shows no difference between the 300 and 400 integrated amps (other than wattage) yet the 400 is $1000 more

    How does the EVO 200 vary Soundwise with the 400. I have owned 1 for about 6 weeks mated with the base Martin Logan XLS, good cables, brilliant sound, what are the advantages of the 300 & 400.

    Hi Kevin, I like all your reviews it is all fair and just. I bought the EVO 200 and I am really happy to have it as my first Tube amp. I have a question and I know you are the right person to ask. I tried tube rolling and replace EL34 with KT-120. Sound differ from each other and both Love them. I noticed when I switched off the power the led light of tube 4 blinked, what does it mean? The bulb is new. thanks

    What do you lose by going integrated over separates? The tube compliment is the same as the power amp. Does this mean the preamp is solid state to cut costs? Sorry new to this and want to learn.

    • @upscaleaudio
      @upscaleaudio  Před 4 lety +2

      No. The integrateds are all tube, but different than the power amps. But PrimaLuna integrated amps will outperform separates from other brands. If you are in the USA reach out to you us through the website and we can help.

    Hi,
    I currently own the PrimaLuna DiaLogue Two. I thinking about upgrading.
    I learned that the EVO 100 is the 3rd generation of my unit. IDK for an extra $1,000. if it's worth it.
    The EVO 200, is $1,600.
    more than my used unit.
    I am confident that the EVO 200 will be a better overall performer than my current model.
    But I'm wondering if the new EVO 100 will provide an 'appreciable difference in sound performance'
    Both the new EVO 100
    & 200 come with an amazing headphone amp which my current model doesn't have.
    Any thoughts regarding the costs of these products vs
    Performance?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the awesome video. I would love to order a PrimaLuna for my actual B&W 804D3, but I don’t know if I should choose the EVO 400 or 200 integrated amp. Any suggestion?

    • @beagle7622
      @beagle7622 Před 3 lety +1

      I have the 200 , incredible Sounding unit, easily drives Martin Logan ESL’s Electrostatics. If I had the money would definitely go for a 400. Power should never be an issue, that was huge surprise to me. The 300 is also worth considering.

    Kevin !, That is a fantastic looking amp !, you should look up the EAR/YOSHINO valve amp's by Tim De Paravacini !, They look Fantastic !, i would have guest that you know this man , he is a Valve FREAK like yourself .........

    • @mr.dynamite2543
      @mr.dynamite2543 Před 4 lety

      I believe EAR uses printed circuit boards. I had the 834 integrated and the 890 amp. When I returned them, the whole socket wiggled. Unacceptable at their over-inflated price.

      @@mr.dynamite2543 First of all my audio friend , i am going to agree with you !, i bought my 834 in 1992 and my 834P in 2004 and have just striped them down to replace all the capacitors and valves at grate expence , you do indeed need to be cairful when changing the valves but my one is as good as new and sound's every bit as good as the PrimaLuna !, The PrimaLuna has got stronger construction for the valve base's and point to point wiring like the old day's but all this is done in China where as Tim wind's all his transformers himself or by someone he can trust and apart from the rather flimsey circuit board's it is built with high end stuff and in my opinian look's fantastic , I have also seen a couple of PrimaLuna's in for repair and they are certainly not bulit proof , but Agree'd , i don't think that they can be beaten but they certainly can be matched when it comes down to what count's !, For me my friend i would still Buy an EAR for it's look's Sound and where it is built and by whome designed it and i'm sure the circuit board's is to keep the price down a bit and as i said i'v seen the inside of a couple of Prima Lina's insides FRYED !!!! , To be Continued
