Who says bag pipes can't be used in rock n roll?! Absolutely awesome!!
That was Bon's intention.
He learned them expressly to make the song.
A true Son of Scotland
Dropkick Murphy's would agree
In seen a Mexican do it with an accordion and then a tuba. Need I say more>>> :)
Seven Nations & Celtica Pipes Rock agree.
❤
Best rock band in my opinion, plus beautiful 70's Australian bush dancing...God i miss the 70's and early 80's ....we are fucked now.

anyone that can incorporate bagpipes into a top rock n roll song is a genius.
if you just think about it sounds like a silly idea but works well here
Bon’s voice is pure Rock and Roll 🎸
Way kool the bagpipes
And it's not Falsetto
Ça voix,ma guitare même fréquence
Great voice ❤🔥❤️🔥
I love the way he grins when he sings, "I'm dirty, I'm mean and mighty unclean." Lol. RIP Bon ❤😢
I'm 79 yrs old and have only just really started to listen to AC/DC. God, i love it.

Better late than never.
I'm 72 and I am more inclined to lean toward lyrical music like Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison but AC-DC is my one guilty pleasure. And this is my favorite song from these guys! The bagpipes knock me out.!
Nailed it!
Love the bagpipes 5:57
This is bad ass fn love this fngrate 75yearsold im
Me too but I'm only 40. That was my father's generation and I envy you guys. The culture of music is today generally very different. Music was once culturally relevant had even political power. Bob Dylan is a good example. And the lyrics he wrote. It's alright ma is one of the most abstract and genius songwriting in music's history in my opinion. Razorsharp cynicism paired with an impeccable talent to see through society's layers just genius. I was very sad to know since I was a 90s kid that most of rock's history was long over when I was even born. But there is hope. Gen Z doensn't even like their own music they are increasingly listening to older stuff proving the people right who criticize today's pop music. Even Gen Z doesn't want any part of that and it shows in the numbers. Old catalog music is outperformin new music. And it is even worse: The market for new music is shrinking. I would recommend you to search and read the article "Is old music killing new music" written by Goia. Google it you will find it easily.

Bon was born in my hometown of Kirriemuir in Scotland and we have the Bonfest rock festival in his honour every year and it lasts for 3 days and it’s going on right now as I type these words 🏴🇦🇺
Sounds like I need to make a trip to Scotland
@@spencerallen482 You will love it my friend 👍🏼 the little Scottish town is rockin for 3 days 😉 and remember to visit the cool statue of Bon and his bagpipes 🎸
Nobody cares dude

D'"'head!
I agree. The red head in green has a lot of soul in her dancing. Hope she’s still alive and dancing.
The girl the the green jumper in the front row still is the most rhythmic dancer after 55 years that I EVER saw.
And Bon brought all off those dancers to his hotel room and nailed all of them.
Lol
@jameseaton5980 It can't be 55 years because this clip is from Countdown in 1974 which makes it 49 years ago...still a long time though lol.
I wonder if she was a girlfriend or the wife of one of the guys in the band, because I have seen her in other Ac Dc videos.
She is beautiful
Bon Scott was the absolute best !
Huge loss for rock & roll !
Sadly… drug/ substance use is the “ Achilles heel “ of many young artists…. A big loss for R&R!
Rock In Peace - Bon Scott
Rock nows roll
The youngest girl grooving in this video is now someone's grandmother. :D
People get old. Rock is forever young.
And she is probably still, rocking. 😜🤪
We get older rock roll get louder
The lead singer is dead, too. I'm a granddad 8 times over. I was probably still a virgin when this song came out.
Life is short as shit :/
When I listen to this song I'm 18 again.
The girl in green living her best life. 😊
Agreed🤸♀️
Yes indeed.. she's awsome ❤
Absolutely, yes she is, oh Lord if I can live my life over

So strong ACDC, the sound, the voice of Bon Scott...,what a "scottish" good band 💪🤟🤟🎸
Bag pipes Bon Scott and title It’s long way to the shops if you want a sausage roll ,what could be more Scottish .
More like 'Scottish Australian' band.
And the dancing redhead in green!
As a kid, I got into AC/DC heavily when Back in Black came out. I knew some of their earlier music but I didn't realize just how great it was until recently when I went back and listened to all of their Bon Scott albums. This was absolutely AC/DC on top of their game. Bon Scott is arguably the greatest frontman of all time.
He's in the same category as Ozzy, Ronnie James Dio and Bruce Dickenson.
And definitely The Greatest Rock Bag Piper ever!!!!
@@philipeaston5465 No argument there.
I do not agree. Bon Scott was an great musican and singer, but the "pressure sound", which make AC/DC famous, has been a work of Brion Johnson too.
@@italienreisender8557 without the groundwork that Bon laid for the band they never would have reached the same success with Brian. He does not possess the songwriting abilities, charisma, stage presence, and voice that Bon had. These are facts. And, Bon almost certainly wrote the majority of Back In Black. Creatively and commercially, they peaked with Back in Black and started to decline after that. Though I would argue and many others agree that Powerage was their finest album. Brian Johnson is a placeholder who did a fine job of keeping the band going all these years.
The National Anthem of Australia!!!
Bon could allways make me laugh. He had a huge collection of funny faces, smirks, winks. He was a really funny guy indeed, anybody can see that.
I'm 54 too..and I still love ACDC❤🤘
Yo tengo 56 y me encanta AC/DC 🇵🇪💯🎹👍🎸🎸🎸🎸
Mate I'm 67 and AC/DC is the bees knees, age is nothing....still rocking the good stuff

AC/DC is the best painkiller!

First time I've ever seen this video version of this song and I'm 61. I am not worthy! Legendary band!
Met Bon down in Atlanta backstage 4 years after seeing them in Rockford. Illinois. He was great and when I told him I was going to make it he told me I believe you lad. Then he signed my backstage pass and smiled as he got on the bus.
Bon is the greatest front man in RR history …RIP
The bagpipes are everything in this song.
Consider this, all those girls are now ordering prunes with their Farina and wearing sensible shoes because the walk to the Mahjong tourney is pretty far down the hall. Long live AC/DC, rock on!
Never ever thought of the bagpipes as being one of the coolest instrument to play until I heard this track!
This track is masterpiece to say the very least!
Apparently it's difficult to.learn and play.
@@marneeklintworth9300 They look difficult too!
@@marneeklintworth9300 I'd bet it was one of the first instruments that Bon ever touched.
I. Bought. Long way to the top album. Back in 1976 still got it
It’s a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll
It's only rock'n'roll, long live rock'n'roll! Greetings from Italy!
Didn’t think this song could get any better.… I stand corrected at a young lady in the green dress dancing and I think we have a hit
Bin 64 Jahre und gehe im Juli auf mein 3 AcDc Konzert.Fur mich die größte Band der Welt
You’ll grown out of this stuff said my dead mothers horrible partner 25 years ago. Well 25 years on , seen the band live, numerous tributes, Brian in Newcastle with Geordie, but I ain’t seen him since 2011 thank goodness!
Saw Bon in 1977 in New Jersey.

My ears are still ringing!!😆✌🏼
Let's just get this started.... Who is still listening in 2027?
If I'm still alive, I'm Rockn with Bon
And if I'm not, I'm still rockn with Bon
@bobbymosley8522 I heard a movie about bon is in the works? 'The kid from Harvest Road' is the title I think?
Yep
I was yesterday.
OMG , how young they all are ! Unbelieveable . And Bon on the bagpipes.......
You can tell this is early AC/DC Bon Scott still has a tooth missing. RIP Bon.
ACDC Just an INCREDIBLE Band Love how the Bag PIPES Took over
My favorite line up ! Bon/Angus/Malcolm/Phil and Mark Evans ! They put out their best stuff with these guys ! My opinion
It's amazing how during solos it's all Malcolm. God rest his sole
Easy to see why they hit it big - great memories of Bon Scott. Brian Johnson continued it seamlessly - the energy and love of AC/DC music
Bad boy Bon on the bagpipes! Old skool AcDc!
One of the most theatrical guitarists ever and they couldn't be bothered to film his solo!😆
I miss Bon. What a band! 👍🎸🥁❤️
Grüße aus Deutschland ja einer der besten Band 50 JAHRE AC/DC .
Best band in concert I've ever seen (I've been to about 300 shows):
No warm-up act.
Started at 8:00 pm.
Finihed at 12:30 in the morning.
5 encores.
We're talking 4 1/2 hours of ACDC (...and Angus never stopped moving).
They played every hit they had at the time (mid 80s) that you could think of.
It felt like my ears were bleeding after that one (...those cannons).
^That was the 2nd time I saw them.
First time, Def Leapord opened for em.
I saw Def Leapord a 2nd time, too, after the arm.
Hella respect to those guys for waiting and for the drummer stepping up the way he did!
Great band real music can't beat old school rock
Love this song! Never knew bagpipes could be so cool!
With the right song!
THE ONLY ROCK SONG WITH BAGPIPES.
korn tried but never this clean.... in my opinion.
I 💓 Bon,saw him at the horden pavilion when I was 16,no one can replace the man!!!!!🎵
Still as awesome since the first time I heard them play live in 1971, absolute legends❤️❤️
1971??? 🧐This was released in 1975.
Acdc had a different singer in 1974 and earlier.
@@lzzfriedmilo4204 AC/DC was started in 1973 and yes they had Dave Evans who were fired in 1975. There wasn't AC/DC in 1971.
71 settle down lol.
RIP Bon !! The BEST !!
Bagpipes are one of the best parts of this song, woohoo, kick ass song♥️
Count this 61-year-old brother from the southside of Chicago a Bon AC/DC fan. I go back to the WLUP LOOP days.
Bon Scott's spirit still rocking 🙂🤘
Bon Scott was one of a kind, never to be replicated.
You can't beat this OG Bon Scott
They were all so young, so great. 50 years later - the music lives forever, but so sad half the band gone. Angus still rocks, but he's an old man. Even the cute dancing girls are wrinkly grandmas with bad hips and knees now. so sad. Time is merciless. Enjoy your youth while you still have it everyone!
It used to be cool with a 400 watt amt in my 66 mustang now it's 1500 watts in back of my Suzuki sidekick with 2 12' and I'm 65yrs old

Malcom Angus and Bon three great musicians born in Scotland
And raised in Australia! Educated in the Australian Pub music scene and touring the country, which provided the inspiration for this song.

What a surprise to come across this video. Many thanks for making it available. I've liked this song since the very beginning, without knowing, for my sins, that it was ACDC!
Me!!! I remember watching this on Countdown with Molly back in the day.

Agree! I really like the extended intro to groove it up a bit. They should do that with more songs. Keep the original but ram it up a bit. 😀

I was 11 in 77' . What a great time for music 🎶
Truly awesome. What's the best part about this - Bon playing the pipes, Angus jumping around, or the redhead girl in the green outfit dancing her butt off?
Its a dead heat.
I grew up in the Eighties during the "Satanic panic" years and remember how the high and mighty would denounce bands like AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and all the amazing bands during this time. But now looking band, this performance as an example, i find thses bands more wholesome, honest, hardworking then the politicians, powerful, and rich who sat in judgement against them. That certainly continues on thru today.
This is awesome. Miss MR. Scott. A great loss to all.
Greatest band to ever exist.
Greatest Rock & Roll Band that Is!😎👍
Those girls loved this music, as I did.
That girl dancing behind Angus; Va va va voom!😊
Man could you just imagine if bon had stayed alive
Not to be too existential, but would he still be alive?

Love bon with the pipes timeless
Him and Roddy piper be legendary lol.
AC/DC is timeless
When you are half Mexican and half Jew, but the pipes make you feel Scottish , thats fkn music!!!!

I still have the unused tickets of the last concert Brian played with AC/DC...Damn I miss Bon !
I love this song cause it tells the real truth about trying to make it!!!!!!!
Bon Scott - those were the times, real AC/DC ;-) ... thanks for sharing
