In fact, it surprises me when I hear something like this story, or songs from the White movement, for I thought that the Soviet regime would've erased them. Too bad for them, and good for us, that these wonderful pieces of history still survive.

While the nazis onslaught in 1942, general Denykyn, who lived in Paris at that time (One of the most powerful leaders of the White movement) even bought and sent a lot of supplies by train, in order to help his Motherland to survive the invasion of the steel hord of Wehrmacht. Soviet leaders were very surprised, but accept that help from "enemy".

This song inspired a bit of worldbuilding in my D&D group's homebrew universe of Soma:
Gazin coughed, in spite of his best efforts not to do so. More blood. He could feel his skin sloughing off in places.
Boilwood. The gnolls had burned boilwood, then used magic to blow the smoke into the fortress. Just touching the sap would be enough to raise blisters. And those savages had ensured that we'd be coated in it, inhaling it!
He could barely move his lips. Instead, he simply clutched the symbol hanging from his neck - a depiction of a broken spear and a poppy. And he laid back, ready to breathe his last. Strangely, he tasted whiskey on his lips, and for a moment, his vision cleared.
He was just like the stories said. Clad in a worn campaign uniform, face lined with fatigue, and an eyepatch covering his left eye. Maurn screwed the cap back on his flask.
"You called, soldier?"
"Am...I dead?"
"Not yet. But you're the last one. The gnolls are advancing. And they are getting ready to breach the gates. I've heard your prayer. And there's time enough for one last request. What shall it be?"
Gazin thought for a moment. Thought of the valley beyond the White Pass. They were the only trained soldiers within three days journey. If the fortress fell, everyone below would be enslaved, or simply slaughtered.
"Just...let us hold the line. Let us last until we're relieved."
Maurn nodded slowly, then lifted his spear, and thudded the haft against the ground. Around Gazin, his brothers in arms took agonized gasps. They stumbled to their feet, fumbling for their weapons as steady pounding shook the gates. Many of them were still spewing blood, skin and fur falling off to reveal raw wounds. Gazin groped for his sword, having difficulty seeing through eyes nearly blistered shut, and felt Maurn press the hilt into his hands.
"Until relief arrives. You will hold the line. And I will be proud to carry you across the Bone River myself."

The general stared in disbelief. The head of the gnoll's clan chieftan, still snarling in bloodlust, stood piked at the entrance to the fortress. And outside, in full dress uniform, stood the garrison. Each one stood before a grave, dug perfectly to regulations, while the corpses of gnolls unfortunate enough not to have fled burned on a great pyre. None of the men were even recognizable - their faces masses of bloody flesh, their fronts stained with gore. Gazin stepped forward, and pressed the log book into the general's hands, before returning to his grave.
"Officer, your relief is here."
With a grimacing smile, Gazin saluted, as did his men.
"I stand...relieved."
And with that, the garrison dropped dead, days after they should have perished.
And Maurn the Weary, god of the common soldier, began lifting their souls onto his shoulders.
This gives off sheer badass energy.

The final chorus and the music behind it all was friggin amazing. Like it was the last time Sabaton was ever going to perform it so they went all out.

Attack of the dead men was the song that got me into sabaton, this is cool to hear now.
Already one of my favorite songs from Sabaton, and one of my favorite battles in history, not needed, but definitely worth it.

The field was covered in a pale, ghastly and disgusting green fog. The trees and grass turned black, and birds dropped dead from the sky. The Germans, after a few minutes, decided to prepare the advance. We watched, coughing up our own lungs, then He appeared. He walked among us, wearing no tattered cloak, but dressed as an officer, His uniform used and wore. His hands did not wield a scythe, but clenched a rusty Nagant revolver and a tarnished Saber that shined maliciously in the green light of the battlefield. His face was that of a rotten corpse, and He kept coughing like His lungs were rotten on the inside. He raised His Saber, looking at us, and yelled. "Come on! You're all going to die regardless! You are doomed! But will you let your killers do the same to your people? Your families? Will you surrender? No, you won't! Stand up and hold the line, no one allowed you to rest yet! Aim your rifles my soldiers, my Hounds of Hell! Fetch me their souls!" The entire trench roared with Him, taking up arms and charging at the enemy. Death glared at the field, letting out a chilling laugh and directing the charge Himself.

This fits with a character and battle scene I'm writing very well. He arrived with 9 or so clones to a battle against one person, made good progress but was sadly no match for her. The 10 of them, one original and 9 clones, were going to die soon and his fragmented soul could never reform to save him. Then he acquires the power of Radiation, and all the bodies fuse together into one compete person again, with several extra arms (Get it, I am become death, multi-armed Vishnu reference?) and proceeds to absolutely wreck everything in his path.
sounds kinda like my character Miyu Tatsu. she's a girl who follows the code of the samurai and her skill with the blade is enough to match even an army of samurai by herself. her blade possesses the spirit of the Dragon Taifa and during her final stand against the former goddess of creation, Raelia, Miyu sacrifices herself to switch places with Taifa and unleash a devestating wrath upon Raelia and her remaining army that Miyu couldn't defeat on her own. however, because of her noble sacrifice, instead of just become a spirit possessed blade, Taifa essentially made Miyu a "living weapon". she can communicate, offer advice, sense danger, and impart her own skill upon her wielder, and if so-be-it, possess her wielder temporarily to get out of a desperate circumstance. she can't however, permanently perform a "sacrificial possession" like Taifa could where she can permanently take over the body of those she posesses. it's only temporary and eventually Miyu is forced to return to the blade.
