Farewell, Jeremy Paxman, you will be missed. And on a side note, I'm glad the Guardian realizes that University Challenge compilations shall always include the legend that is Monkman.

@@anthtan Aside from being a very knowledgeable quizzer, his personality was conducive to a number of CZcams clips and internet discussion centered around his moments on UC.

Of course one of TV's most hilarious moments, but alas too sensitive for the Guardian.

I'm going to miss him terribly. He really had some amazing zingers, especially when he was a little faster. The glimpses of his old self we've seen in the last few years were bittersweet - "that's enough from the Uzbek tourist board" (or something like that), etc.

I remember I got a question correct once and felt like the smartest person alive..... then the rest of the quiz humbled me and showed how poor my education was.
Rather disappointed not to see ‘Cheesemongers, Bob’s Own and the Immortals’ mentioned here 😂

Life will never be the same again, we've been watching UC since Dave Garda (thanks Dave) started posting episodes on YT and Paxman has become like a member of the family. Being Australian this is really the only thing Jeremy is known for, apart from his interview with David Bowie. Looking forward to watching the final of finals and I hope he's going to do the Christmas specials one last time.
