- With more than 50 years of stunt driving experience and more than 100 credits in film and television, Rick Seaman is considered a legend in the stunt driving community. Now retired, Seaman teaches the next generation the ins and outs of stunt driving at Rick Seaman’s East Stunt Driving School, a three-day course held at Wall Stadium Speedway in Wall, New Jersey. Students learn and practice a variety of stunt driving techniques including skid turns, flying 90s, 180-degree slides (both forwards and backwards), and multi-car interactions. Participants in the class range from professional stunt drivers looking for more experience to stunt performers and actors hoping to add to their repertoire of skills. We followed a group of students participating in the driving school in May as they attempted to execute a host of stunt driving techniques commonly featured in film and TV today.
Stunts were performed under supervision of professionals and should not be attempted by amateurs.

How Stunt Drivers Are Trained | What It Takes
- ''Why do you like stunt driving?''
- ''Cause I'm fucki*g crazy'' 😂😂
😂😂😂😂 after the intro says that "there is a misconception that you have to be crazy to be a stunt driver".
Love his logic 😄🔥🚗

Please keep in mind this class is designed to give potential stunt drivers some basic skill sets to build upon. One thing the editors left out was how many times I stressed this in the interviews. Taking this class does NOT make you a stunt driver- It only introduces you to the side of the business with these particular cars, with this particular set up and this particular geography. It is then up to a student to pursue honing these skills in different cars, different scenarios and every variable one can think of -over and over and over again- in order to start actually becoming close to a professional stunt driver. It is a very dangerous occupation- One that not only requires great skill, but also an enormous amount of trust and adaptability when screeching a ~4000lb vehicle toward a group of crew and actors on a production. This is an awesome start to one’s stunt driving career- It is in no way, shape or form an exhaustive class- That is up to the individual as to how far they want to go…
So if I’m a racing driver does that mean I would be decent at this!
Thank you for this important information.
yes, this seemed very limited. More introduction to car physics. With 30 year old Technology too. Nothing past 2010 to see here.
Oh hey! That's me with the red hat. I had such a wonderful time at Rick Seaman's stunt driving course. I am so grateful for everything I learned at that course.
I hope everyone enjoys the video!
Time stamp ?
@@dax1776 I am all over the video, as stated I was wearing the red hat. But if you want a really good look at me 9:32
How much does something like this run if you dont mind me asking?
@@thatxonexguy5438 They have a website. Apparently the level 1 and 2 courses are around $2,800
Rick Seaman should definitely have his own reality tv show💯
have a sip whenever he says 'That is MMOONNEEYY'
We take a sigh of relief when we hear it LOL
@@ussambo Ya sure
"Craziness and success are not synonymous " why do you like stunt driving :"cause I'm F ing crazy"🤪
He looks like the best stunt teacher of the trade; I love his voice
Training with him is fantastic. It was cool to be part of this video
So they all didn't get their start illegal street racing?
Sorry, no. I wish my life was that exciting! 😅
@@MsMegadude64 What's the coolest car you got to drive on set?
Well....none that I've been caught for :)
No one does that lol
@@everythingallin4905
I was an extra in a movie where he was the staring stunt driver who got to drive a Bugatti La Voiture Noire and wreck it.
This dude is amazing. Had a lot of fun and learned a lot from him
I look up to these guys like the james bond cameramen who always get shot at the start.
lol
ဆဆ
That guy is the best. “We blow about 30-40 tires per class, and we LOVE IT” 😂😂🤣
He needs his own reality show or netflix series
A daring skillset, perfected with practice. E-brakes, grid racing, and Jam cars are incredible stuff to master.
Crown Vics and Impalas. Pretty sweet!
Right!! In Latvia I did a light 3h version of this in a fuccin FWD Skoda Scala with abs and all the other smart boring modern car features and it wasn’t even close to as fun as this looks!
Stunt team should get more credit 👌👍
I have friends in the stunt industry. I've done some smaller stunts. But this is the kind of stunt work I wanna do
I wanna do this class so I can do school pick up like a badass
The fact that they use boats to do the training is awesome. Infinite amount of old cop cars for cheep. I’m actually a little surprised at what looks like a lack of safety measures. Helmets etc. But I guess they’re professionals.
I've done most of these stunts in my own cars. I watch the pros in movies, tv, online whenever and have read about performance and handling, then went out and broke the law, tires, and too many cars to remember. My favorite is driving on snow/ice, or mud (my home is 5 months ice, 4 months mud and 12 months unpopulated).
Im curious how much tires they use up a month
I’m*
how many*
You forgot to put a period at the end of your sentence.
@@yammmit Bed time!
First step. Get a driver's license. Then go here for fun 😁
This is so nice to watch 👍🏼🚗🚓
As someone who took my driving test +5 times and generally afraid of driving, I really admire these guys
Thanks so much! I know there are so many factors to take in while on the road, so I understand your fear of driving. Stay safe out there :-D
@Freddy Fiddle Really don’t have to call people stupid, bud. That’s pretty disrespectful.
@Freddy Fiddle hi Freddy. Its actually not about intellect. Part of reason for my taking the test so many times Is to do with poor training and corruption in my country
This is so cool. Thanks for this video.
Great video these instructors seem fun to learn from
They are!
I'd love to do this but it's 3k a class lmaoo. I'll just go slide my own car at a warehouse
Those cars must be super strong
He sounds just like the coach from Dodgeball
Definitely gonna train for this!
Yeah..money money!!
Can you make one about a regular stunt double?
Watching this as an “older” Mustang owner… this looks like daily driving on back roads
i wanna hear more cool praises from Rick
I'm not a Stunt Driver but I would definitely enjoy a class like this. I am pretty confident with most of these skills as I grew up having some pretty good roads to practice on out in the country. Although I'm more comfortable on gravel then I am on pavement as I grew up backroading on gravel roads. That's the nice thing about living in the country is that it's easy to find a road to have fun on with just you and your buddies. Which keeps other people out of danger and more importantly keeps the cops off of you because no one else is out there. Although sometimes I can't help myself when in the city and I'll weave in and out of cars on the interstate or if I'm in a hurry. I have never had a wreck and have done some pretty crazy s*** but anyways it would be nice to take a class like this just to be a little more precise
Awesome looking class! Rick has that voice that could be in a video game as a character that helps you along your driving career.
Are we gonna just ignore that his name is Richard seaman
Dick Seaman LOL
I'd watch lots of this type of stuff. Where can I watch more like this
Those Crown Vics man, they’ll last to eternity
Where do we sign up
Looks cool didn't see the video yet🙃🙃
Probably some of the strangest people you’ll meet

The first driver looks like the studio guy from Big time Rush😂
Now I'm curious who the guy from Big Time Rush is :)
after seeing striking distance car chase as a kid ( Bruce willis ) im like im hooked
2:51 oh wow im in south philly in grays ferry
I’ve seen the guy in the intro one two many times

They probably go through so much tires
At 1:17 you can see when the stunt driver switches to Paul Walker in the the Nissan Skyline R34. Look at his eyes!
old man loves money money alot
Omg where is this school? I really want to go there.
Motion Picture Driving Clinic is in Rosamond, CA and Stunts Elite Driving School is in Bellmar, NJ They're branches of what used to be Rick Seaman's Stunt Driving School
I see that steelers cap 👀
What are they going to do when they run out of Crown Vics with no ABS and mechanical e-brakes?
Only work on period pieces LOL
Sign up for the advanced class.
lol
I have never been this early
Crown vic baby!!
He sounds like Stan Lee and I’d love to take those classes!
How my parents think im gonna drive
I just emailed them. I wanna sign up for a session!
Its a nice gift for a car lovers, anybody knows how much does the course cost?
Why do u like stunt driving
Cause i m ........ Crazy
😂😂😂
In movies why don't they get rid of glass pieces on seat after they smash the car window ?
They forget that the glass hurts in real life. On the set the glass that is broken is sugar glass basically clear plastic like substance, it doesn't hurt also shot consistency sometimes the camera man want to have that glass in the shot. Don't know why, but that is the reasons I've been told
MONEY MONEY!
poor tires
Well, you have to be anything but poor in order to have enough tires to get through just one day ;-)
Money money!!!!
Kinda cool. I wouldn't do it lol
I have to believe Hollywood doesn't know the existence of formula d and the JP drifting scene, if they did they would flip out with the skills of those ppl 🤣🤣
Man Initial D sure look different nowadays
I did the stunt work for baby driver
How much does this cost?
U dont wanna be that Guy!!!!!! Uhhhhhhhh i felt that👀👀👀
Before liking the video it was 1k like after i like the video become 1.1k
This will all be but a memory in a few years as AI and AR become common place. Human drivers are at the end of their run.
*RIP wheel alignment* ⚰️
