I saw this mod in the mod hub yesterday, and thought about it, but stopped myself as I keep restarting my farm cos I'm not happy with the layouts and have run out of cash lol,
After watching this play, I MUST go and download this map, and START again.... Again lol.
Off to a good start although I think having front attatcher on the tractor is a great benefit, that way you can do 2 jobs at a time, ie cut and bale or cut and windrow at the same time, even picking up loose with a mower and forage wagon to put in a silo to save on the wrapper, shame the map has nowhere to sell logs at the start.
Yes, VF is doing NML, and a literal start from scatch. Can't wait to see more.

I was really struggling to stick to a map since I’ve picked up FS22 until I saw this series. I always enjoy the survival/start from nothing style and this looks like a great map for that. Took a quick peek and might start the field just south of yours :)
I like the turner on the wrapper for sure. I think there’s a vertical grabber in the telehandler or skid steer section I’m not sure if the adapter to front loader is out yet.

Yes. Was hoping you'd do a NML series VF.
Last time I did a low money start I started with 2 tractors. I got a mod tractor by fednt. It's tiny with either a swap body front end (where the engine should be on most tractors) or loader. It has a standard pin hitch system on the front and 3 point on the back. 125hp I think. And a connection on the side for the provided sickle mower. Swap body one I'll start with dump bucket. Loader one I'll have a bucket and the mower. General cost is around 30k each if I recall right. Fun little tractors.
I'll also start with a chainsaw and buy a silage bunker. Just a small one.

I enjoyed your way of doing things so I had to subscribe. I'm always looking for different starts of ways to start. I do like the way of borrowing instead of leasing. At least you don't dont have to worry about extra costs and you own it ; plus sell it later on.

I've been playing without fixing the start conditions and the first challenge I ran into is there's nowhere to sell wood, like the FS19 version had a built in woodchipper sell point, so I placed a Carpentry production point on that area of dirt ground up near the shop. Now I just wish it ran quicker, as I'm producing lumber (a lot) faster than it can process it. Inexplicably there's no Lumber Mill placeable as yet either. Early days anyway. Loved this map in FS19, more of a challenge in FS22, well done AlienJim for getting the first mod map on ModHub.

When you get the Farm Shop on this map you’ll be like Jeremy Clarkson off Clarkson’s Farm.
You can add a from pto linkage from the mods store its for the tractors who don't have from pto linkages like ur massey Ferguson
Set you seasons to whatever amount of days then save and quit for it to take effect

I'm unable to purchase equipment from the shop in no mans land/hard setting, any clue on how to fix the issue? I can purchase the used equipment and this is on PS5

Buying is the price you sell for and selling is the price you can buy it for.
There is still a partial bale you left in the baler. Why didn't you wrap it?
I don't know a banker on the planet who would give a loan to someone with no assets. Why not just start with some land and broken down equipment?

Unfortunately I'll have to wait for the update to sell them as the shop doesn't currently take bales. The economy is set to normal otherwise the series would unfortunately be too slow.
I Love No Man's Land in FS 19
Hey VF, love the videos and I'm just getting into FS and I love it. Quick question, how do I start a NML with just a truck and £50 like yourself, when I do a start from scratch it gives me 500k to start with.
I started on Start From Scratch, sold all the equipment (except the truck) and then used the power tools mod to remove most of the money. (You could also edit the savegame XML to remove the money too). On console you can reduce the money by repeatedly leasing and then returning equipment.

Easiest way to start with no money on console is to lease and return equipment until you spent it all and then start from there.
@@VirtualFarmer yeah I just hate having it recorded on the amount page. I just started on start from scratch and paid all the loan back and just started with what was left. Still not buying any outrageous equipment.
You say you’re mowing the grass to get some early money coming but then spending around 70 grand on equipment to do it. For a measly few bales. That’s if you could even sell silage. I realise you will be using the equipment again but it’s not a way to get an immediate profit which seemed to be the intention.
Yeah, I don't think I was clear on my intentions. It's not so much making a quick income from these bales as making a steady income from grass silage in general (as there is A LOT of grass on this map). These bales were just an initial example of this.

It's true. I only had £50 and an old truck and had to borrow money to get started. In order for this series to be successful, all that loan will need to be paid back too and it's a constant drain on the farm's finances until it is. With no contracts on the map, there is no other way to do it and I'm not going crazy with what I'm buying either, limiting to small and less expensive items.
This is much harder than a strat from scratch, as you'll see.

The way you’re looking at buying and selling is opposite to what you think. Buying means it’s buying from you and selling means it’s selling to you.

I think there was problem with it. It has long since been resolved now though.
Why start from scratch and then take out massive loans rather then working and build your money up , all you have done is started a normal save but have loan money rather the money given to you at start :( disappointing start but I hope it will improve
Unfortunately with no contracts there's no way to build the money up to get started, so a loan was the only way to do this. However I am looking to keep it to a minimum and the aim will be to setup the farm and clear the debt, so I will still need to build the money up carefully and watch what I spend.

You can do it either by editing the save game xml or using the power tools mod.

Would of been better if you didn’t borrow loads of money at the start
Not much choice. Normally I would have used contracts to raise the funds I needed, but on here that's not an option and just to get a plot of land I needed £85k. I will be trying to keep the loan to a minimum though.
Why do so many people start No Man's Land on lot no. 26? Lot 26 is one of the worst lots on the map. You would be better off with lot 57. A much better lot.
Ummm....what was the point of "£50 & An Old Truck" if you immediately borrow like 150K? Truck don't even look that old tbh and the £50 never mattered. Enjoyable video but misleading title.
Well the title is true - I am starting with only £50 and an old truck (it's got 1500 hours on it!) and that's why I have to borrow money to get the farm land and initial equipment. Everything I borrow will have to be paid back to successfully complete the challenge too, so borrowing the money also puts me at a greater disadvantage initially too.

The idea is to make things more difficult because every bit of money i borrow will cost me in the long run and make it harder to pay it all back and make the farm a success. Normally on a series like this I wouldn't borrow money and instead use the contracts to raise money to build up the farm, but there's little choice here as there are no contracts, so a loan is the only way to get started.
