      I had guessed so, but I just found it hilarious when it happened. Anyway, great vid, I actually watched it just for the Bullit Spirit cause I'm in love with it but the whole vid was nice. It'd be great if you could make an entire vid on that one, including a driving test and everything because I'm considering buying it and can't find any test...

    The Bullitt Hunt looks identical to the Hanway Raw 125 which also comes in a 50cc fuel-injected version for 2018. I expected the bike to be smaller. It's modeled after the Triumph Bonneville.

    I am taking my CBT test later this week and I am looking for a new 125 bike. I like the GSX S125 from suzuki but if I'm been honest I am really drawn to the cafe racer style. I have been looking at a list of bikes but I am not sure which one to go with. The bikes I'm considering are the Mondial HPS , Skyteam Ace, AJS Cadwell Clubman and the Bullit Spirit. To be honest the Spirit is by far the best looking of those 4 but I like the other 3 as well. I am concerned about the 9hp engine that the AJS and the ACE have, I am only 5'9 but I am a well built chap and weigh close to 16st. How well do you think those engines can cope with a larger person? and which bike would you recommend out of those 4?

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  Před 6 lety

      Hi, congratulations on entering the bike world. Personally I like the Mondial...as that is what I chose as it uses the Piaggio (Aprilia RS4) engine, looks stunning and is well built with 13.6HP and looks like a 400 sized biked. Bullit is also as stunning, but £1000 cheaper than the mondial and the Cadwell clubman is also stunning. The Skyteam Ace also looks great but is small for me and I feel you will think the same.If you can have a seat and ask someone to take a picture of you sitting on each bike you like; I find that really helps.

    • @angrybadgergaming5446
      @angrybadgergaming5446 Před 6 lety

      Hi thanks for the reply. I do travel 30-40 minutes to work and back on a daily basis and it seems as if the Ace would be less comfortable for long periods due to that sporty seating position. I think I am leaning towards the Spirit at the moment, the extra bit more power compared to the AJS and Ace makes me think it would be more suitable for someone of my weight. The mondial is also really nice but it's big price difference, thanks for your advice though, i'll try and find dealers for them in my local area so I can see them all in person.

  • @rogersgjuk2
    @rogersgjuk2 Před 6 lety +1

    Thanks for the video.. I'm staggered at how little choice the big 4 offer really.. you are doing a great service to the bikers of tomorrow.. my opinion, the Bullitt and your bike hit the nail on the head... but the others seem a little out of proportion. Good value for money... please, can you do a reassurance piece over reliability and after sales on these 125s.. because, if that's covered, and covered WELL, these should fly off the shelves.. I'm liking the Sunnis Adventure.

    I’m enjoying your bike videos. Well done on the content & effort.
    But I don’t get the 125cc thing. Surely if they built that Bullit Spirt in a decent size cc it would be the best selling bike out there, because it’s fantastic looking.

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  Před 6 lety +3

      Hi, With the UK having a huge learner legal market and with driving tests getting harder, car insurance getting ridiculous, many more are turning to the 125 motorbike range, hence the dramatic increase in variety.

    • @NezzaXJ
      @NezzaXJ Před 6 lety

      Motors for the Masses that makes sense. I thought it would be something along those lines.
      There’s some fantastic looking 125cc bikes you’ve featured, including the FB Mondial.
      But these brilliant looking bikes would surely cater for the bigger cc market, at a reasonable price. I think the Royal Enfield 650cc is a good example of catering to that demand.

    now if only that Bullit had a proper engine... wish someone would import these chinese bikes but engine swap them before putting them on sale, even something weak like a GS500 engine in them be cool. I suppose getting an engine supply from a major manufacturer is hard, Rotax 904 would be an amazing cafe racer engine.

      The Mighty Dash The only decent one of these Chinese 125s is the FB Mondial which has a genuine Aprilia engine, otherwise they ALL have that shitty garbage CG125/GN125 copy engine block.

    • @Dwainpipe21
      @Dwainpipe21 Před 5 lety

      @@ventisette. the bullets and mash have the old Suzuki gn125 engine as you state bit it's actually a pretty good motor and capable of 70 on a good day which is a good 5 mph better than an old honda CG and on par with most modern 125 motors if you exclude yzf, gsx , aprillia race reps that touch the maximum 14.5 ISH hp allowed by law but which are in general heavier and twice the cost of the Chinese produced stuff.

    Great video! I am considering buying the bullit spirit. But i am afraid that it might be to hard to ride. Is the seating position good? Would it be to hard for the back and harms? It would be my first motorcycle, should I consider something with a more upright seating position? Would the Bullit hunt or the Mash Black Seven be a better choice? Is a Cafe Racer that comfortable? If someone could share some thoughts on this it would be great!

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  Před 6 lety

      If you can, I would try and at least sit on one with your feet on the pedals. You want to be comfortable, but you also want to be happy with your choice. If you can ride, you will get used to anything you buy. It also depends on your height as that can affect your centre of gravity. I ALWAYS recommend trying before buying.

    • @JRVMurphy
      @JRVMurphy Před 6 lety

      Thanks for your reply! I have sat on the bullit spirit. Feels good. I am 173cm tall. I feel that it would be ok for my height, but i have never had a motorcycle so i am not really sure if it would be comfortable for the normal day to day distances and a few trips on the weekend. I live around 10km from work. On the weekends, from time to time I would say drive for a couple of hours, 100km at best. I will check it again and have a seat on it. My doubts are more about the long term. Thanks!

    Have to ask about warranties, 'bout the Co.'s that make them IE how long have they been around so I can locate spares if needed, What japanese Co are they clones of & what model engine exactly. Where can i check out a review of each from a source thats ridden one continously for 3K miles. Admittedly I like the skyteam, not only for the price but because I can work on carburettors & tune it for preformance inexpensivley, I'd change the tank, seat & handlebars though. Reliability is the most important thing IMO

    • @dentistguba
      @dentistguba Před 7 lety +1

      One thing to note with the ace is tuning seems to be a requirement to actually get anywhere near the quoted 9hp, heard it gets 5bhp with the stock exhaust etc.

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi, the Skyteam I believe comes with a 1 year warranty and the 2 Bullit bikes come with a 2 year warranty. Spares are actually quite readily available from the dealers but I don't think there are any reviews of a 3,000 mile ownership; especially the Bullit spirit as that is too new. The Skyteam is good for around 60 but probably not much more without a tune. I understand reliability is important and to be fair I have not heard any horror stories as yet on these.

      I had a skyteam ace . It ran really lean and took ages to warm up. I believe this is because it has to be Euro compliant. You can get a kit to make it faster and run better.

  • @manfacilitymetalworks1296

    What are they like for reliability and spares availability though? I've been told to steer away from chinese copies of engines but I really like this style of bike

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  Před 4 lety

      The layman often advise 'steer clear of Chinese engines' but very few people have understanding.A lot of people go but old technologies and designs and base their opinions on old.....the same used to be said for Japanese bikes. What a lot of people don't realise is that small capacity Yamaha, Suzuki are Chinese built. Honda, Thailand. The engines are not usually an issue, they USED to be mild steel instead of stainless and poor electrics. The game has changed a lot; but a lot of it is down to maintenance. Cheaper bikes are usually bought by people who either don't want to spend stupid money on Japanese branded 125's or cannot afford to, and often what comes with that is no desire to maintain it properly. We have seen some horrendous CBR's and YZF's due to poor upkeep, and some amazing looking and running Chinese bikes due to how people look after them.

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  Před 7 lety

      There were issues with previous bike makes and models re: parts availability and that is why this dealer only deals in certain ones so parts availability is pretty good.

      Icansee u These China crap bikes are all pretty much the same. Honda CG or Suzuki GN licensed engines sold under at least 15 different brand names. Quality might not be the best but parts availability is generally good as...they’re all the same.

    Mash 125cc looks quiet nice. Considering buying one of them myself however I have been advised that bike made in China are not very reliable for longer period of time and spares are difficult to get a hold of due to these bikes not being very popular in UK... I am keen to ask if this is a case that bikes from China are unreliable and that parts for these bikes are difficult to get? I am new to the bikes therefore my knowledge is limited about them.

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  Před 5 lety

      Sadly, older reputations tar ALL Chinese bikes and where that was once true, there are so many great Chinese bikes now. Some of the companies are huge and have come on leaps and bounds, example Keeway, who own Benelli. There can be a few small issues but afterall they are often half the price of Japanese bikes (a lot of which Japanese such as Yamaha and Honda outsource their smaller cc bike manufacturing to China now anyway). Mash are a French/China company and are huge in France. My dad and my brother both ride Mash bikes and love them. All that happened with my brothers' 125 was a bar end weight came loose, and we replaced it; and an EMLight came on which we reset...that is it.

    • @motorsforthemasses
      @motorsforthemasses  Před 5 lety

      Ih, as for parts, most importers in the UK hold a huge spare parts stock of the popular parts anyway which is a 1-2 day turnaround. Everything has issues at some point. A friend had a New Ducatti at £11k which needed to go back after a week and took 2 weeks to fix.

      @@motorsforthemasses Thank you for the prompt reply, information has been useful. It did crossed my mind that most off the issues may apply more for the older bikes compared to the new ones as most of the reviews and videos that I seen were from 2015 to 2017. As long as the issues are not very expensive and major I do not mind DIY on the bikes. It doesn't put me off from buying one, in fact it is another reason why I wish to buy a bike, so not only I could use it for cruising around counties but also put my hands on the engines it self.
      Anyways, thank you for sharing your experience on these kind of bikes, this definitely encouraged me on getting one for sure. Who knows, if I am in the area I may pop in into your shop to have a browse and hopefully leave with one of your bikes.

    because of legal restrictions in the EU all engines must & will be castrated! On big bikes this problem is not as great as on such small bikes. So you must take an old bike and build your own cafe racer.
