      Read the rules yesterday for the first time and they are confusing to me. You can be seen, then you can be shot. When you are behind cover you get a bonus.
      Why am I obscured when I am further away from a large terrain piece? Shouldn't I be more visible out in the open? I get the part with "attacker peaks through a window or around the corner at 1 inch. That is okay but being out in the open should take away any kind of cover ???

    Great stuff. Only thing I'd add is using cover provided by friendlies and when that doesn't apply.

    I know you were just giving some examples for negating conceal, just wanted to add that Auspex Scan from the Phobox Infiltrator Voxbreaker for 1 AP, and Intercession Auspex for 2EP / 1AP

    I get the cover/LOS rules, I use them, got it.
    But as someone who teaches this game a lot to new players I have to say they're terribly unfriendly to new players.
    "I want to shoot that guy!"
    "Actually, you can't"
    "Why not?! My guys eyes and gun can clearly see basically this whole body?!"
    "because the make believe black disk your guy is floating on can't see all of the make believe black disk my guys is floating around on"
    "......"
    So, mostly I do t enforce this in new players, but their frustration is legitimate. This Killteam is so much better than the first, but the only real thing I would change is using bases seeing all of other bases to decide LOS. It's not a fun system. It's not a good system. And it's not even plausibly realistic or immersive.

      Yeah the cover rules are really...not simple but they do make more sense the longer you play/get more familiar with the game. Still not great for new players tho

      Cover and concealment rules are most unintuitive thing in the whole KT ruleset. I remember my own frustration, your comment is on point

      @@CanYouRollaCrit If they're not good for new players, they're not good for players. Yes, you get them with time, but a better system would not require that.
      It's a cop out to just say "you'll get it eventually". That applies to everything, but it doesn't make it good game design.

      I think the bases are supposed to represent the entire possible range of positions the unit could be taking. So if you can't trace to both sides of the base, that means that in the real world of the fight, that unit could be crouched or hugging a wall.
      I also disagree that all systems should be new player friendly. Intuitive rules are nice, but sometimes there has to be abstractions.

      I think its amazing work to show people how to play like a pro. Great footages. Really nice work and explenation. :)
      Best part is the last one for me because when i play i use everything what you showed and its really hard to explain to someone who doesnt know it, that i have a cover because my base is under the heavy terrain and these details and than you look like cheating some times. So next time I just play them this video 😂 and now i am going to study new FAQ and Our favourite Vantage point problem 😂😂

    Hello Crit! Thanks for your videos as always.
    I have a question: When determining obscuring, is it enough if even one of the cover lines is obscured? More specifically, if there is Heavy ruins with windows, and the closes point of the model would-be-getting shot is within 2" of the ruins, but the left-and-right points of the base are more than 2" from the ruins via fire lines?

    How does the "tuck in"-rule works? You need to be 2" away from the heavy terrain to be obscured.... or not?

      You still need to be more than white away for obscuring, tucking helps make it harder for your opponent to negate your conceal order behind cover

    second example: does it matter if you're concealed? The cover line crosses that terrain feature more than 2" from the operative. Or am I missing sth?

      It's just to show how, if the heavy terrain wasn't in the way, your conceal order would be negated

      @@CanYouRollaCrit I actually didn’t know that vantage points don’t take cover away when it’s provided by heavy terrain. I always thought the only difference between light and heavy would be the obscuring rule 😱

    I never understood why being further away from heavy terrain obscures you but being right next to it doesn't?

      Yeah it's odd at first. I guess it's to represent the shot(s) more likely to hit the heavy terrain than when you're close to it?

      If you're right behind a window you're an easy target.
      If you're a bit away while moving you're far more difficult to target.

    GW always can be relied on to make bad rules, rules unecessary complicated and write them unclear. I am amazed.
    Can we please make this less beginner friendly, I think some might actually get this after just longer than a match takes to play or three.
