  • This is a cool one! The Resurrection Plant can remain entirely dry and dormant, then “come back to life” when you soak it! Check it out!

    Bought three from a store in my local mall that caters to practitioners of wicca and other new age religions. Because these plants are used in various rituals. I know I'm two years too late, but you can't leave these plants in water they could get moldy. Letting them dry out to their tumble weed like form is a must.

    To clarify: you have the false rose of jericho, sometimes just called rose of jericho, which is also called the resurrection plant. The other plant you’re talking about that is also called “rose of jericho” is NOT a resurrection plant and while they are also sold they will NOT unfurl or green up because they are dead when sold.

    The plant in this video is the "false" rose of Jericho. It's one of two types of ROJ. The "true" ROJ is a different species called Anastatica hierochuntica.

    Were you able to keep this plant alive after the fact? I’m interested in selaginellas and was thinking of putting one in my terrarium if it seems like they’re sold with enough roots to survive.

    • @bennetriley1988
      @bennetriley1988  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi! I haven’t been taking the best care of it actually lol. I let it dry out and go dormant, then I soak it and revive it. Then it dries out and happens all over again. Lol. I probably should have potted it properly. Maybe then it would grow consistently. I still just have it in a dish of pebbles. There’s are selaginellas that are more hardy and vigorous, maybe give one of them a try.
