Game 1 I'd have 100% summoned emperor with expedition when they allowed it to resolve. Especially since we already had summoner in hand.
Game 2 blast dragon can summon the emperor from hand so maybe it was worth it to make blast dragon as early as possible and maybe bait the trap that way before trance.
I was thinking the same thing. I haven't played Exosister but I figured a 2800 untargetable Emperor would get through the simplified gamestate.
