  • Test to see if the Pacer 2" pump can power two large 1.5" rain gun sprinklers. Then we'll see how much precipitation the sprinkler can drop in 1 hour. This is a big improvement for the irrigation on our small farm.

    That's such a great sprinkler!

    Thanks for the video. Sorry your pump didn’t handle two of the sprinklers but you saved me some money. I was going to use steel pipe to run mine till I saw you were using pvc. I had all the pvc I needed, just had to get a couple fittings. $8.56 later the rain gun was up and running. I’m reaching about 72 feet with the 2” pump from harbor freight with the predator 212cc engine. Pumps about 110 gal a minute.

    Sime makes some interesting sprinklers. I do not have any from them but I like their end gun impacts which is what u have. I seen 3 pivots with one of those rain guns at the end

    How did you attach the quick connect to the PVC pipe? Thanks

    You may have figured this out by now.....but if you have the smaller nozzles for each of those sprinklers, you could probably get the pressure back up by running the smaller nozzle in both sprinklers and regain that larger diameter you wanted. Then you could be watering with both sprinklers covering more ground.....and just run the pump a bit longer to get the amount of rainfall you need. OK...you mentioned that at the end......curious if that helped. LOL

      Hi thanks for the comment. I've found the best result is with one head on the pacer pump which puts out about 50psi it'll shoot over 80ft radius consistently and put out a better rain curtain over that distance.

      @@FlatCreekOutdoors .ive been researching which pump i want to get with my Big Sprinkler as well. Currently thinking I will spend the money on the Northstar model with the honda engine. I think its rated around 90 PSI on the top end. That would be enough to run two (I think) if I ever wanted to run two simultaneously.

    You should make a video of how you made the sprinkler.

    Would the old pump have gotten u more pressure with the same 2” suction hose…..but maybe a 1 1/2” or 1” discharge hose to the sprinkler(s)?

    You can not use two different containers to measure water fall consistency.

    Hi there. It’s been over a year but I just ran across your video. One thing that’s hurting the sprinklers is the main line your feeding them with. You need bigger main line for those sprinklers and a minimum of 80 PSI. Go to a 3 inch main line and tee off to the two sprinklers. That should pick your throw up. Good luck.

      Thanks for the info. My pumps have 2"output and the better one only goes about 60psi, so this is the best I can do for now without investing in a bigger setup.

    Can you use your old pump to power one of the sprinklers so you would have two going, but needing to use two pumps?

    • @FlatCreekOutdoors
      @FlatCreekOutdoors  Před 3 lety

      Definitely could do that. Just need to get a 2nd suction hose, or build one w/ PVC.

    Do u have a 480v electrical run by your pond ? Or do u have a engine with a pto output ? You could get a bigger pump like a pto pump I've seen farmers run 200 nelson big guns with them and they get some amazing range. Maybe invest in a bigger pump and a nelson SR100 or SR150. If you have a bigger pump you could run 2 SR150s and get maybe about 100 150 feet possibly
