Mexico really did a great job taking this music and making a version of it part of them, something of their own. Music is awesome
it's a worldwide language :)

As a Mexican here.....i didn't know how similar Polka is to Mexican music...has me curious as to what came first
@@yournamehere9282 Emporer Maximilian I had a lot to do with Mexico's polka roots
This is some under-appreciated music. Weird Al said it best: "You can't be depressed with polka."
Agreed!
What?!
Wish I had appreciated it more as a young lad when my grandmother would take me to the polkas every weekend.
Been to Oktoberfest, a combination of polka, German beer, meats and bread and of course…. Pretty girls everywhere can certainly brighten your mood
And polkka.
Dammmm I straight up thought I was listening to a corrido but in English and from its original roots , the influence is crazy 🇲🇽🇩🇪🇸🇰🔥❤️
Where is Czech flag?
I am from India and my mom sang this song for me in the 50s when I was about nine years. I am now 72. Loved listening to this and brought back so many lovely memories.
Thank you for sharing a wonderful memory!
I love the Beer Barrel Polka. When I was around 10 or 11, there was a polka night at a nearby park, and there were many of older couples there dancing along to the music. The park's custodian, a lovely lady, sang along with the song while I clapped along. It was a lovely night to remember!
Hey thanks for the lovely memory!
You were luckey to had such memorable happy moments .

Nejkrásnější Česká polka, Škoda lásky od pana Vejvody ❤🍀👍👍👍

No wonder us mexicans love germans ....we have the best drinking music and we both love beer ...i have a german friend we drink so much beer and listen to eachothers music....great guy
The origin of this song is not from Germany, but from Czech republic. I live 13km away, where this song was born
Notice how this song is popular world-wide. No matter who you are, this song is awesome. Thank you buddy!
Skoda
I ll never get sick of this , it reminds me of old weddings back in the day , you won't see this at many weddings today
Weddings today are really boring ,no sweet music ,only young crowd dominate the wedding ,elders are not recognized ,dances are not rhythmic .
Back when people danced at weddings instead of fighting at them. 🤣✝️❓👩⚖️
This is one of the best renditions I’ve heard. Very old time.
Ladies and gentlemen, Steve Rogers on the Saxophone!

Interesting, the credits say Brian Clancy.

My father was in a polka band here in Detroit for many, many years. You guys sound very authentic, which is a hard thing to fake. My mother just died last week, so this is bringing back memories.
sorry for your loss, but thank you for sharing a great memory
Gpd bless you and your mom. Thanks for sharing your history.
Super super
Is it safe?
Sorry for your loss
You can definitely hear the inspiration for the Mexican Norteño and Tex-Mex music
bruh this is polka
@@THeEthan13100 correct and Mexico has various polkas and even traditional attire inspired by its European counter part. El Cerro de la Silla, El Chotis, Polka Idalia are all good examples of more traditional European Polkas
@@EdgarLopez-pv8co I did not know it was inspired by European polka. Thank you for telling that :). They definitely always sounded related to me, but now I know that they actually are :)

My grandparents had an old 7” of this and it was my favorite. Happy to say I still own it. Memories with music are the best
I don't know where this came from, But i'm glad I got it ! Happy ,Feel good music.
I thought it was Sinaloa Banda 🇲🇽🇩🇪 🇨🇿❤️👍🤩🫶🏻😭
No mames
Si de hecho de ahí se origino la banda... Luego los hermanos melcher la trajeron a Sinaloa
Parece
Germans 🇩🇪 brought Polka music to Mexico 🇲🇽 which we transformed into Rancheras. People often forget about the German influence in Larin America since its overlooked by Spanish.
Well that’s basically what banda, norteñas and corridos derive from … the german part thy colonized Mexico .. even our beers are German influenced lol
#history 😂 🤪😎
Many thanks for the memory of Jaromir Vejvoda
Ha. I knew it! A bit crazy that a kids movie would have the beer polka in it.
Wow Saxophone!!!!!!!!🌹🐝
What a Great Band!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very good sound thank u im 56 it feels nice to here this ❤
Im surprised to read comments from people whom do not know this is a German Instrument. Tejano music was created when German immigrants arrived to Texas.. 😮
En México la tocan las bandas musicales en casi toda ocasión.
Yah yah yah!!

The good old days when people were civilized 🇩🇪💯👍🍻
vielen dank Risteard!
In 1974, my father and I went to a Strassenfest. The music was quite enjoyable, especially with performers dressed in German attire, dancing and having a good time. I was 10.
Hey thanks for sharing the memory!

Reminds me of my parents generation 1920s through 1970s

Beer Barrel Polka ( Śkoda lasky ) is one of the most popular Czech hits of the 20th century 😀
Indeed! It's just škoda (a pity) that so many people in the world don't know this is Czech song.
My good ol dad loved polka every Sunday on the way to Grandma's for the family gathering driving in the ford truck smoking his cigars and listening to polka so much better back then in the 70"s miss you pop im playing some polka for you today on Father's day
I love this music!!❤❤❤
This song was in my head all day and I just had to hear a live version...good job fellas!
Hell yes! Glad you found it 👍🏼
Absolutely same here,, if you really want to see true action, and need to Google Steve Urkel roll out the barrel my tears are still dripping
Amazing music
In this is where Mexican Polkas get their inspiration from and consequently Música Norteña.
My Grandparents had us sing this song when we were little. Used to dance around their kitchen in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Good times!
🎉❤Super bravo bravo bravo bravo bravo bravo bravo
When I worked at a nursing home, one night I was helping a lady go to bed, I started singing this because I knew she liked Polkas. It was funny because this was the only polka I knew, but she had never heard of it!
what a great story. bless you ✌🏼
Ah, this good old song. Thank you West Coast Proust! Thank you Jason Fabus!
¡ Genial!!....además de recordar la música que escuchaba mi papá, me levanta el ánimo.
Buttery smooth voice.
Exzellent , saludos desde GUATEMALA .
hola y gracias por escuchar!
Beautiful sound and beautifully played. Thanks
Lovely tone.
Only needs a good German beer and some grilled chicken with pretzel.
Greets from Bavaria.
Grandiosa versión!!! 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶♥️♥️♥️
I often seriously rue the musical age into which I have been born; how wonderful it must have been for this to be the popular music of the time. I would have loved to have a beer in the garden with a local group playing, or go out dancing, where the music was live and lively, and everyone danced the dances they all knew. It just sounds so freeing. One day, when I’m looking back at my young years, I would love to be able to have the memories of going dancing and hearing music like this; it’s nostalgic and it’s not even my era!
Wow very well said. At the end of the day it's my job as a musician to keep this music and the spirit of it alive. I'm glad to be alive today, but understand that one of my goals in life is to keep some of these traditions going.
our local radio station at 5 pm plays polka music of an hour.. i love it
Jason, your music is always a joy to listen to. Much gratitude for your superb professionalism and commitment to excellence as an artist. All the best to you!

Just like the weddings we went to as a kid in Wi
I've heard it at weddings in Wisco as well! 👍🏼

We had an accordion player play it at our wedding in 1980. Married Polish and German ancestry. Thanks for the video. Hell we even got the priest plastered... giggle giggle.
I remember this song well as a kid in MN.
For me, it was in Wisconsin... But we played it all the time in Minneapolis. I went to the U of M

Brian, those socks are YOU! My grandmother would have loved you guys. Hard to put together the Jason Fabus I saw at the Lighthouse with the golden throated crooner pictured here rolling out the barrel! I'll be there tomorrow!
The way I had an ever expanding smile on my face the whole time. God this is catchy and so, BOUNCY. Bravo!!
I'm glad to hear it, thank you ✌🏼
Love this rendition of the Beer Barrel song! You guys did a great job maintaining the traditional music while incorporated your personal vocals and instrumentation. My maiden heritage hails from Germany (great grandparents immigrated from Germany to Russia, and then to North Dakota). I can remember in the 90s, my mom had a polka CD album with this song. She would play this song in the kitchen while she prepared supper, and would sing and dance to it while she cooked. She passed in 2020 at the age of 68. Thanks for bringing back the memories!
Choice, I used to play this, great stuff
nice music...from Czech to and for whole world/....!!!!!!
