and don't forget "La Stupenda" who was in her prime .I spoke to her many years ago and she said that two of her very favourite tenors were Franco Corelli and Alfredo Kraus,two completely different but equally magnificent singers.
That's very interesting because as far as I can tell, from listening to recordings , Corelli Kraus, and Gedda( all great artists) are the three tenors who could always be heard as well as Joan, on an aria 's last note . She often wiped tenors out at that point. But Joan goes all in with them and they meet the challenge! She made great music with all three. Not surprised she favored them. Thank you for that antidote.
