Velliangiri hill has an altitude of 6000 ft and one has to trek a distance of 6 km to reach the Summit. The best season to undertake the trek is between February and May. The area of the foot of this hills velliangiri is called as Poondi. There is a beautiful temple at the place Poondi.
The Velliangiri andavar temple is located on the 7th hill of the Velliangiri hills. The lord of the Velliangiri is a naturally raised self made linga.
