    CCM across the board! I think you meant Adidas true authentics made in Canada jerseys are hard to come by. Reebok authentics are everywhere.

    K1 might be it for me. they fit like premier reeboks and from the one i have, it has every patch stitched on. the shoulders arent the vinyl material reebok or fanatics use either.

      Is K1 anywhere outside of college hockey?

    The current AHL CCM stuff is really nice, I'd have to go with them/Koho as my favorite NHL jersey manufacturer. I always try to find Koho when I can because it feels like a bit more of a unique brand to have, even though it's the same as a ccm.

    • @uglythirds
      @uglythirds  Před 6 měsíci

      Yeah, and NHL Uniforms does a nice job letting you know which jerseys were CCM and which were KOHO in this time period. For example, Leafs home jerseys were KOHO while their away blues were CCM.

      I have to agree.. I've collected vintage jerseys from the last 30 years, and KOHO always stands up...they're the opposite of Starter.

    Mid 90s center ice CCM . The fit and quality. Especially the collar material the blues used in 96 and penguins used . Adidas mic are great quality but fit really big due to being made to fit over more larger shoulder and elbow pads used in todays game .

      Yeah, those are very much a close second for us, and very much for the same reason Pro Player was our number one: they look and feel like a jersey, not a glorified Reebok t-shirt.

    I really wanted an Edmonton Oil Kings third jersey for their current set and they are only sold in versions made by Kobe Sportswear, a manufacturer I had only ever seen make jerseys for like minor hockey teams, so I gave it a shot. It is actually made from a jersey meant to be worn on ice as they mostly make jerseys for recreational teams and stuff. It's honestly not too bad, though the price wasn't great with it only being available in one place.

    I will definitely say the original CCM jerseys were hands down the best. High quality and we fans could get the identical on-ice jerseys. I know only some AHL teams sell the authentic jerseys for the public, others just replicas. Not happy with the thinner material on most jerseys today, NHL and AHL.
    As for Starter, I do own a pair of authentic original New York Rangers "Lady Liberty" jerseys, one navy and one white directly from the late 1990s. They were the heavier material worn by the players. High quality, too. Will never part with them for as long as I exist on this planet. I acquired a year ago a pair of authentic original Phoenix Coyotes jerseys and the full body "Kachina" crest logos are a bit bubbly, but in good shape. I prefer to get the crest logos on those Coyotes jerseys eventually replaced.
    Again, I really fear what is in store for the Fanatics jerseys for next season.

    Proplayer did make a good jersey...it's kind of a shame they didn't produce for more than 1 year.

    My pick would be Nike from 96-99 for the few teams who used Nike. Im glad the Blackhawks never used Starter. I have a Blackhawks on ice authentic in Pro Player but I perfer my nike over Pro Play. But my favorite on ice authentic is a Reebok Egde 2.0

    • @uglythirds
      @uglythirds  Před 6 měsíci

      Those Nike jerseys were great. Cut great and felt great. That being said, today's Nikes are a dumpster fire. They fit terribly and the sleeves are embarrassingly short. They've tried to get too cutting edge and it detracts from the wearing experience.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that older jersey crests had great detailed elements. People assumed it was a Primegreen only thing. I have the USA '98 Olympics jerseys and those have a really nice zigzag stitching pattern throughout the entire crest. It's something you really only noticed when you have the jersey up close.
    In terms of favorite manufacturers, Pro Player like you guys mention in the video are really super nice. Those jerseys are just comfy to wear. The only issue is that like Starter the logos can be hit or miss when it comes to bubbling up over the years. The current CCM jerseys are great too. I'm having fun collecting for the AHL at the moment. The replicas and authentic are pretty close in build and quality which is a plus. Late '90s Nike are superb too.

      The AHL CCMs right now are pretty good. A little better than Reeboks in terms of weight and quality. I was hoping they would have bid on the NHL jersey contract, however come to find out, only Fanatics submitted a bid.

    • @rambling-along93
      @rambling-along93 Před 6 měsíci

      Same, having them make the NHL jerseys going forward would have been great, alas. They're like a nice cross between the Reebok Edge and the Adidas jerseys.

  • @adamthomson6884
    @adamthomson6884 Před 6 měsíci

    I’m unsure of this is the case for the AHL, but in the OHL consumers can buy the exact style/quality of jerseys worn by the players on the ice. They are very nice quality; however owning some jerseys from before CCM changed their patches (front crest, shoulders, etc) those were nicer given that the patches were all embroidered.
    Kind of a lazy answer for most unique manufacturer, but my vote is for Projoy because of it being only sublimation and thus not limited to a singular design template.

    • @uglythirds
      @uglythirds  Před 6 měsíci

      I think I speak for all three of us when I say, what on Earth is a Projoy jersey?

    • @adamthomson6884
      @adamthomson6884 Před 6 měsíci

      They are a company that specializes in event game jerseys for the OHL. The majority of the jersey is sublimated including all logos. Some instances may have included separately layered logos.

    That penguins jersey with the crest. Same thing happened to my adidas leafs jersey it came out of the dryer and separated with a crease like it was folded in half. It not fake it's an official got from an adidas store. I don't think it can be fixed.

    • @ssmith87
      @ssmith87 Před 6 měsíci

      I’d never put jerseys in dryers even if the crests are stitched. The tackle twill can still melt or get warped.
      A lot of people seem to think that only the crests with the adhesive/glue like the reebok and CCM replicas are the only ones to not put in a dryer. Always Let jerseys air dry.

    CCM / KOHO will always be number 1 for me by a LONG LONG way. Sorry, never rated Pro Player, they always looked cheap and a bit knock-off ish to me, only slightly better than Starter. 2nd place goes to Reebok authentic, sadly I only have a few of them, 3rd goes to Adidas MIC (but only have 2 of them cos they are SOOOO expensive), then Adidas 'replica' (prime green is great apart from the stupid sizing issues), then Reebok replica.

    • @uglythirds
      @uglythirds  Před 6 měsíci

      If you have the means, scoop up a Pro Player and give it a try. The weight and feel make you feel like you invested in a hockey jersey and not a glorified Reebok t-shirt.

    I think the NHL has a big problem with jerseys. Other than collectors and die hard fans, I don’t think they are selling very well. It’s evident when the NHL shop puts clickbait ads on Facebook constantly for $60 jerseys which turn out to be youth jerseys. That said, CCM is the best out of the companies still make large scale amounts of jerseys. The AHL jerseys are excellent.

  • @illiniguy34

    CCM of course is always on top, but what about Koho?

    • @uglythirds
      @uglythirds  Před 6 měsíci

      CCM/Koho are the same brand. The away jerseys of the time would be branded Koho and the home CCM, so they're the same quality.
