Thanks, man. Can confirm - perfect directions. Within 10 minutes, I have a lanyard to hang a BT mp3 player from the rearview mirror of my rental car. It would have been 5 minutes, but I misjudged the desired big loop length and started over.
    For everyone asking:
    - Just use any cord, maaaaan. Study up on their stats if you are after survival stuff.
    - His calculations were perfect. Used 80 inches, got a 10 inch long big loop, 3 inches of knoting, and 1.5 inch smaller loop. had about 10-12 inches left over. You will be knotting down the large loop, so take that into consideration. This loop actually started at around 13 inches, then.
    - Any time you are burning ends to finish, the answer will be "no, it's not strong enough for _______". But, it is plenty functional for light and medium weight tasks.
    - The knots will twist slighty and look like a mess, when short. Keep them tight, keep flipping, and keep going. You'll "see it" after about 5 knots.

Thanks for the video! Made lanyard for my work badge to go around my neck. Had 7 ft of cord. Lanyard ended up about 25 in with 2 in of knots and I still had about 20 in of cord left over

My son wanted to make this for around his neck to hold a whistle and a small flashlight for camping. He wanted an 17" lanyard. We used 135" of cord way to much. We had 74" of extra cord. We did 3" of nots. My other son wants to make one as well. I will update when we subtract the wasted material. Thanks for posting. If you have a better way to estimate cord, please share. We also used a jig to hold it. It made it easier for my son to keep track of where he was in the process. They are 7 and 9.

Thanks for posting man,I followed your demonstration and learned it to make a lanyard. But the end is easy to get loosened,so I remain it longer, is not perfect,do you have any idea to keep the end steady?

How much paracord if I want the total length to give me a lanyard of at least 2.5 feet? I am looking to carry a water proof zippered pouch around my neck while traveling, and of all the videos this one seems to be what I need.

I find the loops still "slip" smaller/larger, did I miss something or is it supposed to do this?

He has another video that doesn’t have his fingers in the way and shows off the loops and knots better. Use that as reference and then come back here. This video alone took me 5 attempts before trying another one
