- The Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson has been placed under conservatorship after his health deteriorated following the death of his beloved wife last month.
The “In My Room” singer’s loved ones confirmed that two family representatives will serve as the 81-year-old’s co-conservators.
Wilson’s family said the decision was prompted by the death of Wilson’s wife, Melinda Ledbetter, who died at the age of 77 last month, according to a statement on Instagram.

This news broke my heart. I really don't want Brian to suffer any longer, I hope somehow, someway he can find peace in his day to day life, even without Melinda. I don't imagine it's easy without her, and I'm sure the grieving process is taking a toll on him. I hope he has loved ones around him, taking actual care of him, instead of someone controlling him for financial gain. Brian is my hero and his music has changed my life.
Astonishing how Brian has outlived so many people. He has lots of friends and family that could look after him.
Amazingly creative, heart and soul of a true composer and musician. His songs are like angels singing!
A genius songwriter that wrote the right music at the right time...The Beach Boy's gave a concert in our town in 1965...Brian Wilson had some issues that prevented him from performing that night..so The Beach Boys filled in for Brian with a young studio musician named Glen Campbell...They did all their popular songs..exactly like they were heard on their albums..and they brought the house down..I'll never forget that night..
Brian - so sorry for your loss and so grateful for the decades of gorgeous music you gave us. I'm sure your children love you deeply and will make sure that the conservatorship never becomes a repeat of the Landy nightmare. Sail On, Sailor!

Make all decisions My uncle took my whole inheritance cause he got her to sign not knowing really what she was signing.. changed the whole will. It sounds like the manager and housekeeper . Did just that. ( Every thing should be his children decision. . ( It happens every day people taken advantage of of opportunity)

My heart goes out to Brian Wilson, because he was clearly yet another creative deep heart that was targeted by sadistic/evil forces. My gut feeling is that Brian was being targeted by more than just the father ad Psychologist. I have one big question; were the "voices in his head" caused by a natural "illness" or were they caused by the V2K that some Targeted Individuals experience? The truth is important for the sake of the safety and freedom of ALL of humanity. ❤

Grief doesn't "cause" dementia... 🤦♂️ Brian Wilson is gone since the 80s. He can't perform or record albums without his band covering for him.

@@dlewis9760I'd bet this is the result of not only the drugs he took and abused, but also the over medicating he experienced with Landy, which caused him to experience lifelong brain damage. It's not a pretty sight to see. It breaks my heart to think about it, he's such a pure soul.

That was Dennis Wilson who lived with Manson.
Brian liked doing drugs, playing piano and eating ridiculous amounts of food by himself. A brilliant, tortured artist.
