The Alfa Romeo GT Electric by Totem Automobili is an absolute gem of a restomod. Hailing from Italy, Totem Automobili's young founder, Riccardo Quaggio, is an ex-Alfa Romeo employee who decided to leave and follow his passion for Alfa Romeo in another direction. With the Alfa GT Electric, Riccardo has created an all-electric, 518-hp, widebody beast! Starting from a donor Alfa Romeo Giulia Junior, this car has been custom built by hand, with even the battery and electric motor technology being made in-house by Totem Automobili. We're sad we didn't have a chance to drive it, but looking forward to meeting up with this car in the future for a proper test drive!

I work with the 105 series. Every single time I am around the coupé version I can not for the life of me not be impressed, almost overwhelmed, by the Giorgetto styling. Almost 60 years on and still it is mesmerising.
That said, I do feel the genius Italian styler all those years ago had no intention of including bumper bars, but legal requirements of various countries demanded that. And so, 4 small rectangular flat vertical blips were pressed into each corner.
I've always wondered what a 105 coupé would look like finished in Signore Giugiaro's finished vision.
In this all too quick 2 dimensional video Totem Automobili's 105 is gorgeous beyond my words. In 3 D it would bring tears. Many tears.

Drive it, drive it, drive it, drive it, pleeeeeeeeease drive it. This is truly an insane car. My first reaction was of horror that a piece of automobile history had been desecrated but after looking at the level of finish and the attention to detail but MOST OF ALL the sound, phenomenal. Can't wait to see the test drive. You guys are truly fortunate to see and touch this amazing car.

About 2 years ago at Sunset GT Cars and Coffee I saw a ratted out, patinaed 60's or 70's VW bug with a Tesla swapped drive. It was no where near this level but I liked the idea of showcasing old and new. This is very well appointed inside and out.

Always loved the GTV. I thought restmods would look bad after i saw the old dodge all those years ago. But these much closer restomods are tasteful. i particularly liked the Green one GTE i saw in the other video. even nicer

By todays standard, these cars were never all that fast , especially the 1300 or 1600s .Yet people still want them.
Why, because its not about horse power or speed, it never was.
What Alfa lovers want is the feel , the real noise (not fake) .
The fact that you know the poor little thing is revving its heart it's for you, its trying as hard as it can.
Then when the fuel is almost out , you spend 2 to 3 mins at the service station , fill up ... and then you do it all over again..
Sorry , but my old 105 Stepnose is is still the best .

Why do or car required if it's 100% carbon fibre body panels? Surely they would complete the job with their own chasis frames of equally lightweight and non rustable material?

I like how it looks but would take the original over it any day. This is too shiny, too powerful and probably ridiculously expensive. And as I understood they are slaughtering a classic one to produce it. It is a pass for me even if I was shitting money. Half a million and 3 year waiting time. So for that amount you could get a perfectly restored original with couple of Alfaholics mods for fun on the weekends, a modern day electric car with similar performance for commuting and you would probably be able to buy a small house or an apartment in a small italian town with the change.
Why do Europeans always make high profit low volume products? Any rich Chinese watching? Please make it affordable to the masses.
