It's patients like that who makes me love nursing in an emergency department.
That couple at the end was the sweetest thing ever. To have gone through all of the challenges life brings and still be so madly in love 50+ years later is incredible. I hope we are all lucky enough to experience that kind of love and devotion in our lifetimes.

My parents have had 46 years of this kind of love. Beautiful way to grow up. Mum always said “marry a man like your dad” & I did. Loving, steady, nurturing, funny, dependable, kind. I found him at age 15. We’re now 38 & still as in love as ever. I wish every human on earth knew this kind of love. I do not take for granted how blessed I am. The couple at the end really got to me... They remind me of my great grandparents and my grandparents, both on my moms side. Both couples loved each other so much, when ggrampa passed, ggramma was gone a few months later. When grandma passed, grampa went a few months later. It was eerie the way that both generations did nearly the same thing. They all had their faults and foibles, who doesn't, but the love they had for each other was so deep they couldn't bear to go on without the other...heart breaking but beautiful. I miss them all every day and hope where ever they are, they're together.

I believe where there is TRUE love, there is no seperation only at death. I was driving through town the other day and I caught sight of an elderly married couple walking together holding hands. It brought a wonderful feeling to me just like the couple at the end of the program.

At approx 12 seconds in I had to pause & rewind a few times to see if what I thought I heard was correct... I heard right, it was correct- she's 84 years old, wow!!! I'm 61 & look much younger than my age but because of being an Aussie & spending too much of my life being a sun goddess (before the invention of sunblock creams, where we put oil on our face to make it burn then tan, even doing it in our lunch break at school, smh!), growing up on the beach & sunbaking in the scorching Aussie sun my skin is sun damaged. So I have more lines than this lucky young woman 😉

The thing I have noticed about Docter’s and nurses in the uk 🇬🇧 is they are more compassionate caring than American doctors and nurses the uk seems so genuine wanting to help they actually make you feel comfortable where Americans seem more interested in getting a pay check and wondering what insurance you have
