Hello, I've been in HR for over 19 years as a Generalist. I recently interviewed for a new Generalist role, but I have to do a 5-minute presentation (high level) on a business case (SHRM case) to show why HR should be a strategic partner. I'm so nervous because I've never done this before. Any videos on how to begin?

Hi Stayce, thank you for your message and congratulations on your interview. Super exciting!
I suggest that you book a call with me, link below (option preparation for a specific interview). I have helped someone recently in a similar situation who had to work on a presentation. It worked well for them and they did get a job. www.focusyourself.co.uk/book-online
Also, I launched yesterday an HR Business Partner course that you may useful too. It will be a live/cohort based so plenty of chances to discuss all sorts of questions. More information and detail in the link below - www.focusyourself.co.uk/challenge-page/7051dbcb-4c91-4730-8a92-ab97b57c1b5a
It is a very technical course with models, toolkits and with behavioural aspects too.

Hello how do you know the predicted figure of those who are likely to resign in the next 12 months?

    • @SanjaWilliams

Hi Cassie. The best way is to look at your resignation rate (or attrition) over the last 12 months or so to see what it may mean for the next 12 months. Also look at exit interview data/narrative if shared, to look at previous reasons as they may happen again. The only way to control resignations is to understand why it happens and see if you can change it by acting on feedback and implementing best practice employee practices together with the whole of organisation/departments.
In my experience people tend to resign due to lack of progression (lateral or promotion), limited projects, or interesting/variety work offered. Plus these days it will be inflexible working practices, old fashioned working practices etc so all this needs to be taken to another level to keep people.
