I love how, since this isn't a Smash montage, he can now freely use voice clips from Smash characters for jokes. I love this whole change of roles since you would normally hear these Dragon Ball FighterZ voice clips, and voice clips from other games, for jokes in Smash montages.

I don't play smash and I also think this. I'm actually curious to know what was wrong with the other free roam format that they had to change it to the side view one. To be fair though, this looks infinitely more fun and fluid. It seems like you can actually do combos without having to clunkily chain together pre made combos like in the other side fighting games like street fighte

I see UI Goku is still ending people's lives despite his "nerfs", even on his own wakeup. Hell, *especially* on his own wakeup.

@@atles300 That's...rather arguable. If the counter super weren't a legitimately excellent wakeup option, then I would agree. People *should* get punished for playing recklessly in most instances. But it punishes people simply for trying to keep momentum if he has at least 1 bar, which is usually the case since gaining meter is super easy and barely an inconvenience in Arcsys games.
I don't play this game for various reasons, so this isn't a personal complaint from me. I actually even tend to like characters with counters, especially counter supers. That said, while the counter super totally fits UI Goku, it just seems like a weird design choice to give such a high damaging one that is both unblockable *and* tracks to a character that already has the most wake-up options in a game so highly dedicated to offense. It just seems like his counter super should either have its damage decreased a bit or made into a Level 2 super like _Skullgirls_ did with Valentine's similar counter super.

@@MusicoftheDamned hes no that big of a problem. Hes hard to block for people because of how impatient people are. His wake up options mean nothing when they can all be baited and stopped with an empty jump or something. And he no longer has a way to make himself safe from it because of the nerfs. If you dont play the game then don't talk about it like you know it inside and out. The fact is, ui goku isnt even the bets anymore because of his nerfs. And multiple pro players agree with that. That's why they moved him below z broly in their tier lists.
@@Codyiguess Sigh. I was never attempting to explain things "inside and out", which is part of the reason I even admitted I have yet to get hands on with the game in the first place. Similarly, I never said he was the best (especially post-nerf, though it's not like he's suddenly horrible) or that the counter super was unbeatable (since then it would be *actually* broken, which I already agreed it wasn't) or that it couldn't be baited (because of course it can). I just explained why I was skeptical that the persistent negative perception of the character was solely from people being "impatient" against him. Basically any character can punish impatience. UI Goku just seems to punish it harder than most in this game and have more opportunities to take his turn back even if all of his reversal options can be baited.
Noted though. I still find it very odd how the counter super acts in general even if you can duck it and of course bait it, but again, that's looking at it *solely* from a design perspective rather than an attempt at a dismissive "lol, you're wrong and this is obviously broken". I apologize if it came off as that since that wasn't my intent, especially since seeing people get hit by it is still hilarious.

Yeah... "Combos" in Ultimate are barely even equivalent in damage and duration to autocombos in every other fighting game, haha. When the game is built around them, though, it's not so bad.

@@mitrimind1027 Nah in reality most people only use the first couple buttons in an Auto Combo unless they are going for Shenron. Even in that case you can just use Gogeta's DP to get all 7 and use his finish sign to get to 7 bars so you can summon him. Though at that point you'd probably already be styling with Level 7 Instant Kill so it's kinda just a flex move. Even Bardock only uses the first couple of hits usually. Against a normal player people generally find going for custom combos way better anyways.
Gotta say, as someone who doesn't play other fighting games, and also doesn't watch dragon ball, this game looks fucking gorgeous

I recommend you check up a vegito combo video online, iirc Kuwanger KRT and TinyTorgue have good Vegito combo videos which show you the most useful vegito combos for almost every situation.
