I was ashamed for my country. I am French and a former hostess in tourism as well as a practicing Christian. You haven't seen everything. I didn't understand why at the beginning of the opening ceremony they showed skulls (the children in the boat visiting the Paris catacombs passed in front), the severed and bloodied head of Marie-Antoinette when there were also many children watching the show, the couple of 3, the presentation of the statue of Simone Veil and what she brought to the country (she was the bearer of the law on abortion permission). It was hurtful and shocking to see such pictures. I was really ashamed, like many French Christians, of the image that France gave to the world. I believe that we were not the only ones who disagreed with this show; It was raining heavily this Friday night (in 2 days it rained the equivalent of a month of rain). Sorry for this awful and distressing spectacle. A bad example not to follow for the next opening ceremonies.
