Amazing work! Glad to be a part of such an amazing team and phenomenal gym. Super excited to see part two!
Thanks, Gage! It was so fun filming with you guys on this one… an amazing team indeed! Stay tuned for part 2 😀👍🏻
Great to see behind the scenes... every time new routes go up at my wall I'm amazed at the inventiveness and skill of the route setters! Great video... looking forward to part two!
Thanks, I appreciate that! I am also looking forward to part 2: it will include things like the actual setting and the forerunning process... complete with a bunch of awesome insights from the Fargo Climbing crew. And I totally agree... there is a lot of creativity, skill, and hard work that route setters put in!
I'm jealous of those large volumes!
Lane has indeed crafted some super nice volumes! It makes for a lot of interesting routes, and the possibilities for where and how to position them are endless. Thanks for watching!
Dude, loved this video! I am so interested in route setting, it's so cool to see some behind the scenes. These seem like some great peeps setting great routes! Stoked for the next part!
Thanks so much, BigBoi! I learned so much when filming this… so much great content hence the multiple parts 😄 I am also looking forward to part 2 👍🏻 Thanks for watching!
And yes, the Fargo Climbing crew is awesome! If you’re ever in the Midwest definitely stop on by.
Man, route setting looks like a blast!! I definitely want to try it out
For sure!! You should definitely check with the route setters at your gym. Maybe you could do a video on it as well. I really enjoyed seeing the process and learned a lot.
I’m excited for part 2 which will include the actual setting and forerunning process 👍🏻 Thanks for watching, Jake!
love these guys
Me too!! Thanks so much for watching 👍🏻
Comment or reply to give some recognition to your friendly neighborhood route setters 👍😀
What hex bits are the setters using that are the 2 in 1? Has both the 5/16 hex bit with the screw bit at the tip.
Hey, Atlantic Bouldering! So, it’s called a 2 in 1 drill bit. If you Google “climbing route setting 2 in 1 drill bit” it should come up. The main manufacture is Escape Climbing. They call it the HexStar Speed Bit and they sell it on their website: escapeclimbing.com I hope this helps! I know the setters over at Fargo Climbing really love the time savings from it!
Im new to route setting in my own gym I was wonder what the hex bit they were using was called. If you're able to find that information that would be greatly appreciated
Hey! Absolutely, I will ask them and get back to you. You’re talking about the one that fits both the screw and bolt, right?
Where do you set at?
@@augustclimbing Yea the one that fits both screws and bolts and the gym I set at is The Gravity Vault on Radnor Pa currently.
@@jr_.6986 Great, I’m checking with the guys at Fargo Climbing and I’m going to find the details for you. And that’s a cool name for a gym 👍🏻
@@jr_.6986 So it’s called a 2 in 1 drill bit. If you Google “climbing route setting 2 in 1 drill bit” it should come up. The main manufacture I’m seeing is called Escape Climbing. They call it the HexStar Speed Bit. I’m confirming if this is the exact one that Fargo Climbing uses, but hopefully this is some info to get you started. I know it saves them a lot of time!!
@@augustclimbing thank you so much and this seems like a great piece to have. Especially my gym is hosting a comp soon we my love have this
Hey folks o/
Can someone help me out with these 2 in 1 drill bits? I can't find any in EEU

Hey there! So, it’s called a 2 in 1 drill bit. If you Google “climbing route setting 2 in 1 drill bit” it should come up. The main manufacture is Escape Climbing. They call it the HexStar Speed Bit and they sell it on their website: escapeclimbing.com ... I guess the main concern is what the shipping cost will be to get it to you. From their website it looks like they will calculate the international shipping rate and email you the details. I hope this helps! Let me know what you find out 👍🏻👍🏻
@@augustclimbing Awesome! Thanks man!!! The bit they make has somewhat negative reviews so I guess ill skip that but at least I know the exact name now.
@@predatorez77 for sure! Hopefully you can find one locally or even have one made. How long have you been setting?
@@augustclimbing I've been setting routes for about 1 year or so, but its nowhere near the level that I see on the net. And the funny thing is that setting became way more appealing than climbing.. It is truly an art form. Also the bonus abs workouts are nice lol
Cheers! o/
@@predatorez77 It's an art form for sure! I haven't done any setting myself... but from knowing and observing several setters, I can appreciate how much work goes into setting a nice route for all of us to climb! Keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻
