    My Grandmother was a millinery in Canada before coming to the States in the 1920's.... I wish I would've asked her for her expertise when I was younger....thank you for the Vid !

    Never understood what buckram exactly is and I look for it also for corset making.Here in Italy I cannot explain to the fabric shops what it is 😂😂 maybe a fabric or a sort of hard adhesive canvas

    how do these hats stay on the head? How did women do it from the 40s through 60s?

      Women would often use a hat pin which was a long, stiff pin with a decorative head that would be pushed through the hat, under the hair, and back out of the other side of the hat. Similar to how you would pin two fabrics together. In this video she appears to attach some elastic which would be worn hidden under the hair around the back of the head, rather than under the chin. My grandmother used to attach her hats with both these methods, hope this helps!
