    Thanks for all this information, how about the Saladmaster skillet?

      We haven't done actual testing on any Saladmaster skillet. But from our understanding, it seems to be a good choice. A pure stainless steel skillet means durability and you won't have to worry about the coating getting chipped as you use. Just remember to get the pan hot enough so that food won't stick.

    They are great in the hot 🥵 summertime when I don’t want to use a hot open flame on a stove 🔥.

    I have issues with my Presto foldaway holding heat during cooking, so i have no clue if i just got a bad one or what

    • @shouldit.official
      @shouldit.official  Před 8 dny

      Can you describe the problem for us? If the skillet cycles on and off around 6 or 8 minutes, then it's normal. But if it keeps going in and out of power every minute or so then there's a problem.

      @shouldit.official I let it reach the operating temp of 400, but the moment I add meat or anything, the temp immediately drops to around 100 and takes upward of 10 minutes to get back up to 200. I don't know if I got a lemon or what, but it just doesn't look well. I'm think of trying another brand here soon.

      @@Reallytallsocks Yes, sounds like you got a faulty one. Have you tried calling customer service for warranty? Of course, you can choose something else like the Hamilton Beach or Elite Gourmet, two of the more popular brands.

      @@shouldit.official there is a Presto that's ceramic coated that I'm looking at right now. But the Hamilton beach looked pretty nice too

    It is important to me that I can easily transfer hot food to a separate container and pour off extra liquid while cooking by myself, without extra help.
    That is the reason I'm shopping around. I wish you would have included this important factor.

      You're right. We should have mentioned ease of handling. All of these skillets can be easy to transfer hot food from, especially the Presto and the Hamilton Beach where you can remove them from the base to decrease the weight you have to hold onto. For pouring excess liquid, the Presto and the Elite Gourmet has a pouring spout for that. So, the best choice for your needs would be the Presto. Hope this help!

      @@shouldit.official ah thanks. I had a mini crisis the other day when I was trying to transfer food from my ancient 12" square e-skillet. The food wouldn't pour out and I couldn't hold it with one hand in order to scrape it out and I had to call out for help. When I was younger it wasn't an issue.
      Luckily I wasn't home alone. Now I just want a safer one.

      Plus I burn myself on the edges. The smallest touch leaves a painful burn that needs bandages. I have two bandaged burn areas from it right now. Its partly because I have a tiny apartment and a super small amount of counter space. But I love cooking in the electric skillet better than gas fire stove.

      @@techshabby0001 That's unfortunate. Sorry to hear that. Hope the burns heal nicely and such mishap won't happen to you again. The Presto has a pretty tall base so you can just tilt the skillet to pour food onto the plate without lifting all the way up which should make it easier.
