One great aspect of this game is that, as a dad, I can play it with both my 12 yr old son and my 5 yr old daughter and have fun with both on their respective levels. That's priceless for a father.
My sons taught me how to play and I completely agree, the time spent with them is some of the most fun and memorable experiences I’ve ever had. It helped me relate to them and I still grin like a fool when they brag to their friends about how far I’ve come in my builds lol
Started around 2014 - 2015 when I was 3 years old on my phone and around 2016 - 2017 me and my brother actually played with our father, I remember my dad building a wooden tower and then we burned it down lol :D, those were some really good memories.... Around 2019 - 2020 started playing on my PS4 and it just didn't catch since Fortnite was really popular at the time, but at the start of 2021 when I got my PC, I instantly went to play Java edition and this game really is unreplaceble and fantastic, I wish I could just go back to 2017 and play Minecraft on our phones with my dad and my big brother.

Ive sunk so many hours into minecraft with my husband. We cannot WAIT until we can play minecraft with our son. We actually almost named him Ender 😅 (also because of Enders Game). But also as a mom, I love that I can hop on for a few hours and just do creative mode to relax. I tried my hardest to play Starfield when it came out, but I just don't have the time to dedicate like I use to.
The nether fortresses being practically impossible to find is very relatable

I ussauly just give up on finding them in my worlds, because after like 10 hours of no luck it feels like it’s just impossible.
The Nether fortress goes from one of the rarest structures in the whole game to being your portal's spawn platform
Honestly gets me to stop playing sometimes. I don’t like having to search for potential multiple hours and traveling thousand of blocks. This isn’t ever game but I’ve had plenty like that.
As a kid, playing this game on the Xbox 360 was an unparalleled experience. No other game has ever since captivated me as much as this one. Thanks for giving it another chance.

I've been playing this game since 2009 with no breaks over a few months. It's hard to get a fresh perspective - so thank you for this 40-minute love-letter to my favourite game of all time. To try to answer your question (I have made too many amazing memories and friendships in Minecraft to count - Minecraft's potential to build communities/"metaverses" is almost unparalleled) my FAVOURITE memory was only recently. A few years ago I convinced my then-girlfriend, now-wife to join some friends and I on a survival multiplayer server and after a slow start she became hooked. Last year we terraformed an entire island and turned the village in the middle of it into a giant bustling town full of functional farms and villagers. She made some incredible builds, and has pushed her creative boundaries SO much in the last few years playing the game. I've never been so happy or fulfilled to share a hobby with a partner - these days we find ourselves adventuring together and goofing around in-game regularly.
I always get bored because when we beat the game and get nether armor with prot 4 and max enchants and stuff but when I'm done i suck at building so I really get bored and have nothing to do. do you recommend anything to do after you beat the game

a week ago I started a server with 1 other friend where the first goal is to try and get a single chest of everything possible. we hope to finish this before the end of 2024.
But I am 100% that after its completed we set another super difficult challenge just to keep expending the server and keep us buzy working on insane projects
This comment really hit home for me because I just turned 30 and Ive been playing Monecraft since 2010 and have played it on and off, but usually more on then off for all those years.

@@hiddenguy67 CZcams is weird and is deleting my replies. It all boils down to community - make shops, events, minigames, just HANG OUT in Minecraft. Use other games to crush objectives, and just use Minecraft as an outlet for creativity.

Even "useless" resources at least serve decorative purposes. Copper blocks oxidize over time and slowly turn green, but you can wax them to prevent further oxidization, thus opening up lots more decorative potential with "shades" of copper.
Copper went from my most hated block to my most favorite. I avoided it at all costs unless absolutely needed. Now, the new copper blocks make it my FAVORITE. They’re awesome.
I mean, the Statue of Liberty does look better when it’s green.

I'm 38 and when minecraft came out it seemed to be marketed as a little kid's game so I ignored it until about 1.15 when I decided on a whim to actually give it a go and i've been hooked since. I run my own java server and put together my own personal modpacks now lol
I also used to think Minecraft was a weird looking children's game for a long time. I was busy playing Skyrim when it launched. A couple of years later I started playing it with my little brother when I visited my parents, I thought it was pretty fun, but never bought it for myself. Then finally the pandemic hit, and I thought of dedicating space in my home to play legos to pass time, but then decided to get Minecraft instead.
When I dedicated time into my own world, I realised how much more there was to do than just building simple houses and herding pigs. I've been playing almost daily since then and I don't even want to know how much hours I've put into it XD
I'm currently playing the old versions of the game (started back in indev), to learn what it was like back in the early versions that I missed. It was much more simple game back then, but the core mechanics are still a ton of fun!

@@davidarvingumazon5024 None, I play vanilla :P Stuff like Optifine / Iris +shaders is nice to have though. Now that I'm playing the old versions I don't have anything, except Betacraft launcher to support the versions, skins and sounds.
I’m playing Direwolf20s modpack right now its fun to play alomg with his lets play but also doing my own things too
mine was ATM8 and 9 currently and some of snaller create modpacks
and no, i dont recomend modpack like FTB or All The Mods series if you have 8gb of ram and quad core processors, its always a suffering experiences based on my 1st hand experiences on the past

What I always loved about Minecraft is if you watch 100 Youtbers playing Minecraft everyone does it completely different. Even the same things. There is no right or wrong. Just do whatever the f you want and enjoy yourself.
Yeah absolutely. A few months ago i saw a video on how minecraft is practically impossible to beat without wikis/walkthroughs/help from friends and i saw people in the comments mention "PiroPito's first playthrough of minecraft". Turns out a japanese guy has been playing minecraft intentionally blind for 5 years, no outside help at all. I can't believe that series is as unknown as it is
I'm a dad who has been playing the game for years and I've never went to the end to beat the dragon. The first few years I only played in creative mode because that's what I liked but these last few years I've been playing in survival to build epic villages. Watching all these youtubers create extravagant things in survival mode made me want to try it out myself.
I’m a mom who plays with my 17 y.o. daughter. I’ve beat the dragon twice.
I take out all the beacons at the top of the towers with an infinity bow. The towers regenerate the dragon. Try to avoid her attacks, she attacks in a pattern. Time yourself to move from tower to tower building up with blocks you’ve brought from the overworld. When all the towers are disabled run to the exit portal thing that looks like a well.
Just clobber her in the head with a maxed out diamond sword while hiding in exit portal (I can’t think of the name). She perches on top of it and swoops her wings. That’s when you bash her! Continuously!
Watch her health drop. Scoop up her dragon’s breath with bottles you’ve brought with you. Carefully steal her egg and jump in the portal to go home. Usually my daughter coaches me a little. Then you can read the story at the end which is Minecraft Lore. Minecraft is so much fun no matter how you play.
@@LilyoftheValeyrising back in HS me and my friends would play the UHC - (Ultra Hardcore Mod) which was a modification to ... well, to *make* it ultra hardcore. For instance, you wouldn't regenerate health with digesting food but by either using a potion or; a golden apple. ordinarily, you would create it via gold nuggets, but in this mod it's with *-golden blocks.-*

we'd have to use and find new tricks in order to survive such harsh conditions and one of the few things we'd approach the dragon (you would spawn on a bedrock plate further away from the island) by utilizing snowballs and pumpkins, to stop the endermans from attacking you by accidentally looking at them and snowballs to throw at the regeneration crystals which would result in them going *kaaaputt.*
in normal mc it's popular to place beds and wait for the dragon come close to it and then just right-click it to make it explode, its a cheap TNT essentially
I’m also a mom who plays! I won’t play without elytra so we do the dragon in the first week of a new world, max. You can beat the dragon in iron. I only play on hard and it’s honestly not a big deal, you can do it!!

If you’re intimidated losing all your stuff, there’s no shame trying with keep-inventory on first! Play in a way that makes it fun for you!! Also, I highly recommend bringing a water bucket to either block clutch if you want to build that skill, or get up the towers faster by swimming up rather than building.
@@teddiesilver9613 Agree. I don’t like playing with it on b it honestly, I don’t even mine, I cheese villagers and can have fully enchanted gear back in short order. It’s literally just a time investment, it’s not skill. It’s a sandbox game and it should be played how people enjoy it.
Minecraft is a game you really need to experience solo at first. In my childhood I played the demo and got hooked fast. I loved it
Strangely enough I think one of my favorite memories of playing this game is draining an ocean monument on a server with some friends. It's not something I thought I would like at all, usually such a task is so tedious that I just move on to something else, but to do it with a friend - first of all tackling the building, then gridding the spawning space with sand, draining it square by square until there's only the water inside of the temple itself, and so it turns into a scramble of punching guardians and placing sponges before breaking it down layer by layer - all of it was so incredibly satisfying to do while talking to my friend and strategizing which part of it to take care of next.
Another favorite is going through a trail ruin on my singleplayer world. Instead of just breaking it all in order to get to the sus gravel, I "respected" the ruins and roleplayed as if I was an actual archeologist trying to unearth an ancient culture, even going as far as to place each item in seperate chests depending on which of the buildings it came from. I very much recomend doing this yourself, it's incredible how immersed you get when you allow yourself to slow down.
I hadn’t played until 2022. I always avoided it because I thought it was “stupid”. Boy was I wrong! I started playing with the kid of a family friend because she asked me to play with her. As I realized how massive, in depth, and how many play styles there were… it took over my life lol. I love it.

@@DavidN16792 no its not. its extremely buggy, you cant even put the same curcit next to itself, even if they dont influence each other and work on their own, next to each other they just dont work anymore. especially annyoing for big piston doors, if you dont want to make them extremely complicated with quadruple piston extenders. and flying machines dont work if you put multiple next to each other
i remember as a kid running to my room to grab one of the official Minecraft books to look up a crafting recipe... before the recipes were just given to you we really had to just hope and prayed that we knew it by heart (especially if you didnt have a computer or phone as a kid) heck, i still craft everything from memory 10 years later

Yes this game is the first game that my mom bought in play store!And I was just a small kid at that time,me and mom used to play Minecraft in xbox,its one of the greatest bonding moment for us,building our very own city and mining together and even killing mobs!
The best part of Minecraft is how much of a deterrent and lure it is. Sometimes playing it feels like a complete chore, a drag, a pain almost. Other times its the exact experience I am looking for. It almost sits there on my desktop calling my name, or mocking me for buying it.
Playing Minecraft now for the first time in 2023 is something I'd love to experience, due to me playing for 10 years I know a ton about the game and new features have to grow on me like I'm some old man, I'd just love discovering everything again
If you get frame drops increase the amount of ram allocated to Minecraft by going to the launcher → installations → [the installation you are using] → 3 dots → edit → more options → in JVM arguments near the beginning change 2g for 4g or 8g depending on the amount of ram in you computer
Also try to make sure the allocation doesn't exceed the size of one stick or ram because Minecraft can stutter when changing ram slots

Minecraft has no control over changing ram slots. Thats going to be controlled by the cpu memory controller and the OS might get some input.....

I've recently been seeing a lot of resentment for minecraft/mojang in the community (especially when it comes to updates and the mob vote), so it's really refreshing seeing a newer player give their perspective on the game lol
Failing is part of process. It feels nice to break the cycle of death and respawn to simply thriving. My first introduction of Minecraft was at a party in 2012 with the xbox 360 eversince then many games have come and gone with Minecraft being the only one with serious replay value. It has to be the longest running updating game. Its constantly find new challenges. Seriously why dont more people put their base on mushroom islands and make a challenge to terrform some trees there and plus monsters dont really spawn. there. You could just try to survive underground if you want
Mushroom biome kinda disadvantage of making farms, but good for mushroom farms.
The quality, narration and structure of the video is simply impeccable.

Minecraft is so special to me. It’s hard to choose just one favorite memory. I’ve played since 2012 Pocket Edition and have had countless worlds and experiences. I play mostly survival, but some creative mode, too, and consider myself an accomplished builder. I haven’t “finished” the game, but I’m changing that this year and have been planning to defeat the Ender Dragon before the end of the year. Wish me luck (I’ll need it)!

If you haven't tried hardcore mode, I can't recommend it enough. It makes the experience all the more meaningful. Definitely requires a bit of practice and strategy, but it's cool when you do finally learn how to conquer death.

Minecraft was called Minecraft before crafting was a thing. I think the "craft" was originally meant to be like how it is in witchcraft, basically meaning "skill."

Honestly I switched to minecraft for hobby time instead of "crafting" painting / sewing when I had kids, because there was no mess to clean up. Now that they are older I do both.

Watching this video really put Minecraft in a new perspective for me (since I have been playing since 1.8). It really showed me how different Minecraft is versus how it was
ye it makes you appreciate the full scale of the game yk. Instead of players complaining about updates. I thought this for a while but realistically its just a really well put together game with little to no issues and runs relatively smoothly. Made me appreciate my childhood game a far lot more than I have done previously.
Your comments on the deep dark and underwater temple had me thinking
If you’re a player who’s goal is to reach the end credits, to get there you have to reach the end, which require ender pearls and blaze rods

Actually, I sort of love this idea. I've never heard anyone bring something like this up and I think it creates different route possibilities.
It can also work as post-game type challenges! The wither and the warden are much more difficult than the ender dragon imo. The wither opens up beacons to the player and while the warden doesn’t drop anything, the deep dark has plenty of great resources, books, and skulk for redstone players!
This is a REALLY interesting video in a landscape where everyone has already experienced Minecraft to the max, and I really relate to your initial experience with the game!! I only really got into the game when my own family played it with me during mid 2021. Again, great video.

Seeing as you said "glide" when talking about the elytra, I'm assuming nobody told you. You can FLY using the elytra, not just glide.
If you craft rockets using paper and gunpowder, you can set one off while gliding to have it propel you forward. Making it not only one of the best modes of transportation, but a tool to view your buildings and landscapes in ways and angles you've never thought you could before.

Nice experience video! I think this is the typical experience with the game, which is a great by default and brought me and many more years of entertainment.
But to broaden your scope I really recomment you to watch some of those redstone creators. It is insane what is possible!
From incredible redstone struktures like auto miners with tnt, automated tree farms, giant super efficient farms to push amount of items farmed to the millions, basically turning survival into semi creative, and even A COMPUTER THAT RUNS A SMALL VERSION OF MINECRAFT ITSELF! Like... you have Minecraft in Minecraft!
I design my own farms, I find that fun, like a puzzle where the pieces are the mechanics of the game. If you want to learn about redstone or technical minecraft the community will help, and we are always glad to teach newcomers
I can't really say what my favorite memory of playing minecraft is. Honestly any time I played with my mom or uncle. Like this one time on creative mode when my uncle was building a tower in the woods and I snuck over there and made a heart out of roses (it was back when the small red flowers were roses and not poppys) or the entire survival world with my mom right around when worlds became infinite and we got completely lost since we didn't know. I've made so many memories with family and friends playing minecraft there's no way I could pick just one favorite

Never forget when servers like mineplex existed was my first server I ever played on then moved to hypixel. I don’t play Minecraft much anymore but I still go on to play some modded. Going to the twilight forest or to space is always fun. Showing my friends these mods as well it’s always jsut so fun. Hearing them gasp when they throw a diamond in a water surrounding by flowers then a portal opens up is always so adorable.
In 2015, I started playing Minecraft on the Xbox 360. This would last for several years as I not only got better at the game, but also watched other people play this Minecraft version called "Java Edition." I wasn't able to experience the fullest of the game at the time until I got bedrock edition on a phone when 1.15 hit. Eventually I got my first laptop and bought another bedrock edition, where I got increasingly better at survival while also making my creativity just insane. Later on I got Java Edition and that was a huge thing to me. I got to (nearly) experience everything the gamers I would watch would see and do. Now in 2024, I can say that Minecraft has not only made me nearly an expert in the game (no redstone or coding please nooo) but also made me much more creative in the game and in real life. My story telling for the game also skyrocketed and working on a massive private trilogy which will be a great accomplishment to me once it is done.
It's interesting to see Minecraft properly treated as a game to me, as I have kind of always thought of it like digital Legos. There's something kind of funny and intriguing to me about it, it's like seeing a gaming review of Microsoft Excel.

Been playing modded for a bit. The modpack basically makes you progress through multiple stages. (Pre Vanilla, no iron and stuff), (Vanilla), (Basic Automation, Create), and it just keeps going. It has a well detailed quests too that let you experience all forms of the game. It is really fun.
What I love most about minecraft is the permanence with your creations. Building houses, exploring ruins, all are permanently there. The longer you play, the more history you see in your world..
Im so happy that I picked up minecraft back in Alpha. The greatest game there ever was. Sometime I dont play it for months - sometimes nochting else for weeks.
The redstone and the wither are the only two things I’d change about bedrock. They are massive differences, but then again the wither being a true boss is kind of nice

Yes, Minecraft is the best game ever made! I've been playing it since 2011 and still have never gotten bored of the excitement you get once your plans come to life in a virtual blocky game.
90% of my life is minecraft so I know alot about the game I used to share your opinion on farms but then I started to learn the mechanics behind them and stopped searching up tutorials and now I love them so they are a experienced players thing
Really love this. I always tell people who are on the fence about getting into Minecraft that there really is something in this game for everyone; that you don't need to play any Specific Way. If you're not having fun with it, there's probably another approach that works out better, and everyone has their own unique play style that sometimes just takes some time to figure out!
I started with Java back when some friends got me the game as a gift and invited me to their modded server, it was a really fun experience but over time I learned that I don't particularly like playing by strict survival rules. Using cheats like "keep inventory" and being able to jump in and out of Creative Mode on a whim to build whatever I want is so much more fun imo, but I had to play for a few years to figure out that's how I enjoyed the game the most! Modded Java is still my go-to since it's what I'm used to, but I can see how both vanilla Java and Bedrock have their own appeal for a lot of players, too.
So glad you gave this game another chance - it's always nice to hear people talk about how fun Minecraft is, because it's definitely one of my favorite games of all time and really does deserve the amount of praise it's gotten over the years! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

This was quite enjoyable, a video essay followed by a brief first playthrough of the game in question is a format I haven’t seen before.
I would say that my favourite part of experiencing Minecraft was discovering my love for animation and 3d modelling after joining the Pixelmon development team. I probably wouldn't be in this line of work without that experience.

Yeah makes sense. For what it's worth, i'd rather have more things than less. People who enjoy strip mining and building minecart roller-coasters will still be able to do it if the game can do more things.
Or on the flip, stop all development of the game except mod support and let modders makes the gameplay add-ons they want to make without needing to catch up with core development.
It’s so interesting seeing someone else’s new perspective on the game. Everyone else has seen/played the game before so you never really see someone who genuinely has a new grasp of it and getting to see it in video essay form is fun to see so thank you for taking us through this experience

29:37 if you don't want to use cheats, you can do /seed (can be used without turning cheats on) and plug the seed in chunkbase for all the structures/biomes you might need

I grew up with Minecraft and I could say that it really depends on what your goals for the game are. I tend to be such a huge builder that gathering blocks and making structures is what I loved to do. Survival only enhanced the experience. To say, I think adding shaders and mods into the game made me keep playing it to this day. Especially one of my favorite minecraft mod: pixelmon and plenty of biomes.

1. id like to start off saying: i happy to have stumbled upon your channel. i tough it was a big youtuber before i seen the rest of the channel and i will be watching what came before and after this video.
2nd. in general minecraft is a great game that is held back my microsoft, thankfully tho modding is a huge thing in java and bedrock and is getting easier than ever with new modloaders like neoforge and quilt, and mojang is roadmapping more addon(mods for bedrock) features.
singleplayer is calm game that lets you do everything at your own pace.
and multiplayer is blast, broken up with small singleplayer-like segments. as you said its pretty cool to build something, gather resources or explore then come back to a whole ass mansion, complete with the most efficient farm ever(and a random creeper hole), all built by your friends, then making your own massive structure while they go do their own thing.
Heck yeah dude, grab a quest book modpack, a nice texture pack and shaders and enjoy how insane and complex (or chill and easy) minecraft can be! I tend to take a 2 year break from minecraft then come back and get obsessed for 3/6 months till I need a new break. It's a great cycle.

Second, minecraft has always been one of my favorite games with so many memories that no other game has really been able to match. I am so glad that you are able to have that same experience and enjoy the game.
P.S. Really fun and dangerous thing to do do while looking for fortresses. Try riding a strider (the little two leg walking things in the lava). You need a saddle and a warped mushroom on a fishing rod.

My favourite memory of Minecraft was my 3 cousins, my 2 siblings and I all sharing 1 computer and taking turns playing, back when beds didn't exist so we would call each other cowards if we hid in a wall all night because it was boring to watch. We died A LOT but we also had so much fun just running around trying to each build/collect/play in our own ways.
I started playing Minecraft in 2018 and i have quite literally never gotten bored or burnt out on it.

I am 25 and when Minecraft released I was at the start of high school, MW2 and black ops were the games out at the time and apart from some of my gamer friends debating about whether terraria or minecraft would outshine the other, my access to minecraft was limited to the java demo.
I played that a few times.
Years later, I downloaded the demo on my PS3 and would play with my (much younger) brother as I thought of it as a simple and introductory game.
We would try to achieve as much as we could in the 30 minute demo time.
I appreciated the game from a distance saying "it's cheap, I should buy it some day" but didn't feel any urge or real investment into the game.
It has always been around since then. I remember in 2016 there was talk about how people were playing minecraft ironically. It was spoken about like fortnite but I was moving past cod and looking into other games and heard that minecraft had a thriving player-base and was receiving regular and high quality support and updates.
Now, maybe 6 months ago, I was hanging out with my younger brother who had a few games on his PS4, including minecraft.
I thought it would be nice, seeing how I introduced him to it via the demo on ps3, to see what he could teach me about it.
Caves and cliffs made the world seem so vibrant and expansive. There were new features and items that I didn't know about. I felt like a complete novice again but with a deep familiarity and respect for the game.
I like the games I play to fulfill their own unique purposes for mental fortitude. I have games for strategy, reaction times, creativity, accuracy, mind games, teamwork, etc...
Minecraft really proved itself to me to go far and beyond any of the other games I have for expressing creativity but also for a sense of calm.
I bought bedrock edition and poured hours into it. I'm currently working on a 144x144x144 block superbase.
I then bought Java edition and downloaded curseforge and am exploring Alex's mobs and caves on it.
Minecraft actually reignited my love for gaming and I intend to spend my new year break delving into it.
I hope the development continues to be as inspired and authentic as it has been.
Developers can make or break a game and I believe that Minecraft is an odd rarity that could become a cultural cornerstone of human play, surpassing lego. I always felt/knew that it could but now I'm on board and loving it.
Would also love to see it somehow coexist with Dwarf Fortress but I think that's a job for the modders.

I started playing Minecraft back in 2013 around with 1.5.2 if I remember correctly. I fell in love with this game over the coming months and have played it regularly ever since, and it has remained my favourite game to this day. There have been periods of time where I played the game for hours ever day for weeks or months on end, at the end of which I'd get burned out and drop the game for a few months before getting back in. It's a repetetive cycle but whenever I come back to the game it's such a fresh breath of air.
Singleplayer, Creative Mode, and Multiplayer all changed my life at different points in time, and I genuinely would not be the same had I never discovered this game through a few Minecraft roleplay series's a bunch of Russian kids/teens did on CZcams back in the early 2010's.
I met so many amazing people through this game and it genuinely helped me whenever my life would hit a heavy low point. It wasn't all nice and cosy of course, there are plenty of annoying or straight up dangerous people you can and probably will meet through Multiplayer and I had my fair share of encounters, but overall my experience with the game and community has been largely positive.
Also I love complaining with my friends whenever the Minecraft Mob Votes happen, thank you Mojang for giving me quality friend time where we debate and laugh our asses off at the choices and announced winners
it's really interesting seing how someone that never had a deep conection with the game can start feeling about it, I literally grew up with this game since i was a little kid when the first version released for pc, and it was always interconnected with my life somehow, so yeah, it's fun to see how you feel about all this world that i as born into hahah
I’ve played this game since Dec 2011 and I have been obsessed ever since. I’ve always been an artsy kid so this game just provides another outlet for me. I’ve met so many wonderful people on servers and have met some friends that I hope to be life long and I even met some in person. I don’t have any intention of ever stopping although sometimes I feel a little old on servers w people. The minecraft community has so many creative people in it and I can never get bored of it.
Yeah, although the new updates offer some beautiful new biomes like Lush Caves, etc., they also made the early game much too easy.
My recommendation is to start with Java (that means on a PC, like an adult, not a gaming console) v1.16.5. Play Survival on Normal. Spawn a green, habitable biome that is nowhere near a village, and you will likely get absorbed for months.
The key is to not start with everything you need on day one. That ruins the experience.
Building some shelter, trying to find some sheep for wool, having to figure out how you're going to feed yourself, those are some of the best early game challenges and experiences that Minecraft has to offer.
If you start with a village, which has a bed, food, shelter, even iron, armor and other supplies - then you've just missed an enormous amount of content that is so fun, because it was literally given to you right at the start.
This is what has happened with v1.20 and even v1.18. You almost always spawn next to a village. Or somewhere that you wouldn't want to be anyway, like in a thick jungle where you literally can't even walk, or in an Ice biome.
1.16 has most of the modern features, but doesn't hand everything to you on a silver platter. Solving those problems at the start - some of the most fun I've ever had in a game. And I have tons of games. Certainly nearly every major title.
So get it, include Optifine, add some visual upgrade mods if you can, and you're family will have to check on you to see if you're still alive since no one has seen you in months.... :)
I've played Minecraft since I was a kid, but up until 2020 only ever in creative, because I had the same worries about survival that you did about the game in general. I'm so glad that you found so much joy in it. My favorite part is definitely that sandbox element. As for finding structures, I simply don't. I use seedmaps unless I'm on a server that doesn't allow them.
As an old veteran of the game I can say your point of view is refreshing. I know this game like the back of my pocket if u havent heard about command blocks check out what people can do with them. The game truly has no limit.
Love this video! I have been playing this game since I was 5 years old. (I'm 16 now) Minecraft was a huge part of my childhood and I still play it today. It's been a while since I played survival as I spend most of my time on Hypixel Skyblock
There are two types of people in this world. People who love minecraft and people who havent played it. Thanks for giving this game another chance.
I almost missed out on this game too back in day. I pretty much only played FPS like CoD and Halo, but also did play some FIFA Pro Clubs with a couple buddies. And it was 1 of those guys who got a couple of us to try out Minecraft, and then the rest of us eventually joined in. Without him getting us going on it, I probably never even gave it a shot. We played it for 3-4 years solely on XBox, but have gone back later now to play mainly on PC.
Recently I've also started playing a bit with a 5yo nephew. He has played a bit with his brothers but never enough to learn the mechanics of the game, they all just slap around at each other and they give him any tools or weapons he might need etc. So I've actually been walking him through how to build wooden tools, and then use those to get stone tools, build your first base in a cave, make some torches and a stairstep mineshaft, hunt down a few sheep to make a bed etc.
On the total flip side, I also have another buddy that WILL NOT ever try the game no matter how much the rest of us try to convince him.
I played RLCraft for a bit, took some time off from the game entirely for a while. It's astounding how much they've added to the vanilla version in the last few years since I REALLY played the game.

My favorite update will always be the 2020 Infinite Dimensions update. Such a fun use of the world generator of Minecraft, I love exploring the various different dimensions and seeing what chaos I can find. Also, the Easter Egg dimensions are really useful at times, especially the Skygrid and the Gallery dimensions, which enable you access to every block in the game, including diamond and netherite blocks.
I watch youtubers play this game since over ten years ago. I have only played a fraction of that time myself, but it still adds up to the most hours in any game I played myself.
The aspect I like most about that game is how people share their creativity. I guess the guy I watch the longest without any break is a good representation of what I love about this game. Docm77 is a highly thechnical minecrafter who is at the forefront of new ingame vanilla glitches and features. But he brings those things together in a community server with beautiful builds. He does some level of roleplaying, but usually he doesn't go overboard.
When I play myself it is just singleplayer survival and it is to enjoy the atmosphere and build some stuff with some level of automating stuff.
I have tons of memories for this game, since I started playing when Minecraft was still in beta, but i think my favourite is when I started a server on Bedrock over 3 years ago only with my closest friends (We need the crossplay). We created multiple worlds to choose an interesting seed with lots of different biomes near spawn. We started out by building a large base at the spawn area with a park area and lots of farms together. Some time later we would start building our own outposts and connect them all via rails in the nether to travel between them easily. When Caves and Cliffs part 2 was out, we even started to build a second shared base almost 5000 blocks away from spawn into newly generated chunks.
We keep playing on this same world to expand it, no matter if updates release. It's always fun to look back and see how much we have already built and I'm looking forward to build upon it even more.
Nothing beats playing Minecraft on the Xbox 360 with my siblings. It was one of the only times we got along. I remember we built a prison out of cobblestone and we would play cops and robbers. I still play minecraft to this day and even though there are endless new mechanics, it still holds a very nostalgic place in my heart
The way you talk about Minecraft like its some obscure indie game not many people know of and isn’t the most popular game on earth as well as the fact that you don’t know much about it despite appearing to be in the gaming sphere for awhile is pretty interesting and funny
Minecraft has been a huge part of my life! Ever since I discovered the game and all the cool and different mods from Yogscast, to finally getting Java on my laptop, my experiences playing it with my friends on my Switch and discovering Hermitcraft and how many more endless game changing updates over the years have really cemented the game to be my favorite and one I’ll never forget
My favorite experince with minecraft was playing it back in the older versions of the game when I was very young and new to it! why... Because it was hard to survive!! I remember building murder holes because the amount of mobs that were near your base at night made survival and building a house up fun and rewarding!!
