I'm not going to lie...I doubted your ability to convey the amount of emotion in this song. I thought it was just going to be your intense, power vocals with little emotion (like almost every other cover here on CZcams) The most important part of this song is the raw emotion in it.

I shouldn't have doubted you, and I am deeply sorry. I think that I lost a bit of hope for covers of this song; But you brought a powerful voice AND deep emotion into this song and it is now my favorite version.

The Disney version brought only mild emotion-sort of a "huh, possessive much?" feeling than true sympathy.

The first time I can honestly say I prefer a cover over the original song, though I think that can be attributed to the lack of autotuning.

To be far the had to autotune fans voice in the movie voice to add the beastly aspect to the voice

Funnily enough not a big fan of Caleb unless he's duoing with Jonathan. Speaking as someone who was once long ago in a band, Jonathan establishes more power and presence than Caleb. Not to mark anything against Caleb. That said I'm not looking for the mob song, was talking about "No one _____ like Gaston" which is a hilariously catchy tune, even more so if Jonathan and Caleb duo it like they did Hellfire.
That all said, I'm biased as it is my favorite Disney movie, and my favorite youtube singer.

Amazing! Simply amazing. I love this darker take on such a beautiful and already haunting song. And the growls add a primal, animalistic feel that the original, ironically, doesn't have. The only thing that would make this better is if those tennis shoes you're wearing with that dapper suit were converse. Everything else is just beautiful!

Oh my... shivers ran down my spine hearing this cover just once! Jonathan, your voice and range were PERFECTLY matched for the Dan Stevens version of the song. My only complaint for listening only once so far is that at times the instruments were too loud and drowned out your beautiful voice at certain parts (mainly the "Wasting in my lonely tower" part to about half way through the chorus). Of course this is just my first impression and I'm in a noisy room without access to my earbuds (through which things tend to sound better), so I may either revise this comment or write a new one after I listen many more times.

I am not a singer but I do play piano and teach music. It's great to be able to hear a different version of Disney songs such as this one which is one of my top favorite Disney songs...because of you! Ha! Don't stop doing this! You are very talented.
I have no idea how you took one of the most beautiful, soul-gripping songs I've ever had the pleasure to be haunted by and not only did it justice but elevated it to epic heights, but you definitely did! I wouldn't consider it better than the original, but different and equally gripping.
I still struggle to believe that such an earth shaking voice comes out of just one person! It feels like an ancient god leaning down to do a bit of karaoke.
