I am considering trading my RS660 Extrema for this bike, the RR to be exact. I am somewhat of a new rider so for myself, this bike seems to be a healthy step up BUT Where I live doesn't have an MV dealership ANYWHERE NEARBY. How difficult would maintenance be in my situation? How impossible would Maintenace be for any dealer who doesn't sell or connect with MV?

The clutch lockout is a new development. My 21 brutale 1k did not have that with the original mapping, but after updated mapping, i now have to pull in the clutch. Thus far, the complaints i have would have to be after installing the race ecu that came with the arrow slip on, my cruise control wont work anymore, the factory auto blipper is spotty, good for road use but i wouldnt trust it on track, and for the way i like to ride the spring rates in the shock and fork made the bike literally unridable for me. All that being said it is by far my favorite and i hope to add more mv's to my garage

By the way... if you are having issues with your F3 starting I can tell you with almost 100% certainty that it is the "Sprag Clutch" aka Starter Clutch starting to fail.
I just got my bike back from the dealer after a few weeks of waiting for a replacement Sprag Clutch to come in, luckily this was completely covered under warranty. From what I understand this has been an on going issue over many generations of three cylinder MV bikes. Hope this helps!

@The Moto Seoul I enjoy your videos so thank you for posting them. My brother has just bought a new 2022 F3 800 Rosso. He was told the clutch sprag issues were sorted, but I guess not? How many miles before the problem shows up? You've had overheating issues too?

To answer your question, I made it to about 3500 miles before my sprag clutch was completely shot (meaning the bike would not start and actually left me stranded). The symptoms of the sprag going bad started far before that though, you will notice when the bike starts having trouble starting up. At that point I recommend calling your local dealer to have them look at replacing the part under warranty!
The overheating I was having was only on the hottest days during the summer months here in Texas (110+ degrees), however once I swapped to Engine Ice Coolant the heat problems never arose again even on hot days.

I was also advised by some of my viewers who are MV owners that I will need to upgrade to a higher voltage battery at some point to avoid future issues. I owned a 2017 F4RR. Too many mechanical and electrical issues. I was expecting a reliable motorcycle but very disappointed. My dealer dropped the MV brand from the show room. Issues I had with the motorcycle: electrical wiring issue which was fully replaced under warranty, oil leak from the crank where the sprocket is (even after dealer servicing it), gas tank deformation due to ethanol content in the US gasoline (replaced under warranty), engine overheating issue even with a better water impeller installed, vibrating mirror that was replaced under warranty, LCD dash that becomes dark & unreadable when the bike is parked under the sunlight for too longer. Issues with dealership: untrained mechanics due to high turnover, careless work (missing screws, missing fasteners, overtorquing causing damage to engine crankcase, missing clips, did not put the fairing back correctly after service), misdiagnosed problems causing even more expensive service. I’ve seen two other customers with Brutale 800 (MY 2017) whose engine was broken and replaced under warranty. The F4 or any MV bikes are motorcycle art for the living room literally. My F4 is the most expensive living room decor there is. I’m still holding onto it for my project bike and learning to service it myself. The F4 is a great motorcycle when it is working but my ownership has been plagued with too many unscheduled visit to the dealer. I will forever never consider buying another MV Agusta again.
My Ducati is surprisingly a much more reliable bike from electrical and mechanical perspectives. Aftermarket parts are plentiful. Dealership experience has been very positive so far. Service work has been great also.
Sorry MV Agusta, you are extremely beautiful to ride and to look at but I have no patience in dealing with many negative ownership experiences. YMMV.

2022 MV Agusta F3 800 from sunny Florida checking in…
Well, let’s just say that I have been on quite a journey with my F3 800 especially considering she’s only had 1100 miles on her since I purchased her about a year and a half ago the bike had to go down south to the Miami dealer about four different times they could never fix the Main issue bogging the motor down so hopefully I get my bike back from Tampa here within the next few weeks and she will be running the way she should have whenever I first purchased her not only did my oil cap blow off during my break in mile. But my sprag clutch also went out within the first 500 miles, the bike has had a strange hesitation/bogging problem between 4000, 5,000 1/2 thousand RPMs It’s been to the Miami dealer about four times, etc. etc. lol yes such as the life of a owner of the Ferrari of motorcycles yes I have dreamed of having one of these bikes since I was 18 and started started riding but now that I finally have one. I understand that you mostly look at these bikes, rather than ride them, it would seem.
I did get the QD slip on exhaust. I’m still trying to figure out if I want to go with the full system on this bike or drop a tune on it with the hiccups I’ve had so far but I’ll load up whenever I get it back from Tampa. She’ll have some new carbon and a few extra goodies , plus you’ll be rideable again so that will be a big plus hopefully I can get over 5000 miles lol MV AGusta dealer network and their customer service team pretty much left me hanging for about a year.. hopefully they allow me to extend my warranty since the bike hasn’t been in operation for over a year which fingers crossed but we’ll see what happens personally, the rear break going out because of the recall is a little more concerning than the silly bogging problem but hey, I mostly stop on the front break anyways thank God I’m an experienced rider. I would never want to put a rider of less than two years on this type of motorcycle especially because the brakes can randomly go out not only that, but if you’re sitting in traffic for longer than five minutes, the screen will turn bright red and start flashing at you which will make you immediately want to merge into incoming traffic to cool your motorcycle down. It’s even more fun when this happens on the Miami downtown highway and you have to immediately merge into the express lane where people are flying 100 miles an hour behind you to try and cool your bike down. Yes I’ve done it. No it’s not fun. I’m still alive to talk about it. Call me what you want. I still love the Bike, I’ve always loved this bike ever since I first saw it at my very first bike night when I was 18 years old. It sounds amazing it rides like no other that is one thing I will say.
to hell with all those people that tell you don’t sleep with that girl she’s no good for you or don’t buy that car. It’s too much power for you. Listen if you’re not buying shit that isn’t gonna kill you you’re not a friend of mine, secondly, all your friends, especially the ones that Ride are going to want to be sitting next to you at bike night and at events you’re going to get a lot of good attention, and most of all the way this bike rides is very very different than any other 600 or 750 or 900 or liter bike… I mean, maybe it’s the reverse crank, but this thing sucks you into every corner and I will say this for the money in the headache and all of the heartache you’re gonna go through with this bike. Every time you do hit that ignition and she starts… eventually, you are going to have a blast each and every ride.
Even though it has a lot of rider aids and updates it still feels like the early 2000s analog bikes and like some of the 90s bikes it still has some raw emotion to it. It still feels special and it’s definitely worth the experience. Yes if you are going to waste your money on a rare stupidly font Motorcycle this is the one to do it. I highly advise you to do it and take it to the race track because that’s really worth these things excel but hey if you catch me there just make sure you get my better side 😏
Also replace the LED headlight bulb with aftermarket lose the weather cap YOLO🎉
Funny sidenote, I was gonna have it shipped to Monkey Moto Texas whenever Miami couldn’t deliver, but MV wouldn’t cover the tow lol!!

Bro, I'm not trying to chastise you, but quite a few of these issue can be solved. Obviously the solutions are outside of the manufacturer's guidelines so guys at the dealership will not tell you about options which are non-standard and they do not want to support.
I run an F3 800 2014, and that clutch lockout could be bypassed via several options, you may* be able to find that check in the ECU on your model and disable it in a software like ECU studio, or if it is a hard switch that won't signal the starter relay without the clutch in you could just tweak your wiring. Alternatively and I recognize this is less approachable, you could introduce signal logic (the clutch lever literally just grounds a connection via a small switch) with a microcontroller like arduino nano. This way when the microcontroller detects the engine is off (just have it read a tach signal or something, I think this can be done on newer models from the CAN bus) it automatically grounds the clutch sensor line, and then as soon as the engine is running your code will release the ground and your clutch sensor works as normal.
I don't know if they drastically changed the headlight for 2022, but you should just be able to swap your halogen bulb for a LED array. Sometimes these need additional resistors to ensure you don't over current them so take note of that and I would measure the resistance of your factory hallogen.
Another thing to remember is that our bikes are just that, bikes. So long as it is tastefully and skillfully done, you can MAKE any part for your MV. The factory headers are just stainless on most models, so you can make whatever exhaust config you want out of 316 tube, etc. Guys discard the factory headers frequently, but a spare on ebay and cut it to use for the flange, then fab up whatever you want.
These bikes are more of a platform to build off of, and if you purchase modifications based on part measurements rather than a note explicitly approving said part for your model you can save a ton of time waiting for mail from San Marino
I will give up the ghost in respect to the wiring. It could be tucked better, but for me it is already difficult to get to various connectors without a fair amount of disassembly. Fortunately the ECU programming port is under your passenger seat and easy to get to.
On the note of your ECU the really awesome thing is that it is factory unlocked so you can edit everything and flash whatever map you want. Check out ECU Studio
    www.ecustudio.com/bikes/MV/mv.html
Look at some build threads for the guys who race our bikes. They get into machining parts that don't exist and doing really deep modding.

@@themotoseoul I like to encourage people to navigate beyond their current limitations. I recognize that your dislikes were more of annoyances based on your tonality and statements in the video. Surely you could understand how the audience might misinterpret your affection with the video as titled.
Like I said, I'm not trying to beat you up man, clearly you are testing things out trying to navigate the youtube formula. Perhaps consider this, you could offer value to your audience by documenting your journey of fixing the dislikes you have mentioned. Imagine that content, it would be detailed and unique as you could share information about how you maneuvered around the dealer limitations to genuinely and in a truly innovative way. By sharing intricate and uncommon information that you learn on your journey you would be releasing high-value content that enthusiasts would share naturally, thus leveraging a more effective mechanism than video title to spread your content.
Further you would likely appeal to a broader audience addressing one of the common difficulties that afflict niche channels. For example if you built, or participated in the creation of an add-in logic controller to safely address the 'clutch to start' procedure that you dislike many gearheads in general would have an interest regardless of vehicle because you are showing them that if a solution is not available for purchase it does not mean that they are stuck with what they have, only that they need to broaden the methods they use to solve the problem. I get that it may not be yourself who designs the controller or writes the code, but given the simple circuit required and how little logic is needed you may be surprised by the talent that could be recruited to help with such a project.
You could even start with the LED array, as this is quite approachable. Years ago in my late teens I HATED anything electrical because I couldn't fully comprehend how things were working and was terrified to burn something up. I looked into driving an LED headlight with the factory circuit to avoid modifying anything. I figured if I could replicate the same electrical conditions as the factory bulb with whatever I connected to the halogen plug then there was no way I would kill anything.
Actually I just pulled myself from engineering/design land for a moment and remembered that we aren't working on some old 70's bike here and that for a headlight you need not cook up a solution yourself.
The bulbs our bikes use are common H4 automotive bulbs, you can get an LED array that fits the H4 socket and form factor I'll link below. If you want to be absolutely certain there will be no issue electrically just measure the resistance value of the stock bulb with a $10 multi-meter when you are doing the replacement. There are 3 terminals on an H4 bulb one for high-beam, one for low-beam, and one for ground. On the stock bulb measure the resistance from high-beam to ground, and from low beam to ground. If the resistance values (will be displayed in Ohms) are close then you can be 100% certain you will not have any issues. I cannot imagine that the manufactures of H4 LED arrays/bulbs wouldn't have ensured this but if you need that extra verification that is how to do it.
I get that this is not supposed to be a forum post, but I suppose MV is a brand I feel a duty to maintain and uplift. Having been started by Count Domenico Agusta and having deep history I feel these machines are misunderstood. They are Sammarinese artwork first, a race machine second, and are sold as street bikes.
As you said San Marino is already struggling to fill orders, and if those who know cloister the knowledge of how to deal with these machines inevitably these bikes will fall to the proletariat, and that is a knee we cannot bend.
I am user "R.Martin" on mvagusta.net, feel free to reach out to me and I'll share how you can approach your MV in a way where you will do right by the Count and make some properly deep content for your viewers along the way.
If any of this has been insightful perhaps this video could be renamed something like "Things to address on my Mv Agusta F3" and server as the start to an engaging modification series.

I believe that most of the issues I have had with the bike stem from low quality batteries being used. From what I understand the battery the bike comes with lacks the power necessary to reliably start the bike. This causes the starter clutch issues these bikes are know for.
My factory battery was replaced with lithium under warranty in June of last year. No issues since then.

I would change the battery right now and the sprag will hold up a lot longer it's not a fun job, it is also warranty for the life of the bike because MV Agusta knew about it. the original sprag lasted about 500 miles, dealer replaced it for free with the upgraded sprag although it still cost me money to get it there 70 miles and return... the updated sprag started to make noise at around 7,000 miles so I added the lithium battery, and this calmed it down a lot... at 15,000 miles it took a shit and it cost me a $600.00 towing bill from the Berkley Marina back to Empire about 100 miles away...I don't blame the bike because I knew it had the problem my bad!
