We never go 7-eleven when a mall have supermarket at basement floor.. supermarket same thing/item at least 30%-50% cheaper than 7-eleven store..
The biggest one at Puchong not far from Puchong Industrial Park LRT station
U make your plans and send out the antennary before u leave and get everyone's opinion before u go, then u make the arrangements when everyone is in agreement.

There are 2 types of 7-11 in Malaysia. The normal one which is the one you visited here and there is another up scale version with more ready to eat food which is called 7 Cafe by 7-11. But the up scale version of 7-11 called 7 Cafe is new (just launched end of 2022 if i am not mistaken and expanding soon) and only a few locations available. Better google to check the nearest branch. I think it is better to visit Family mart or CU mart when you come and visit Malaysia because they have more branches and easier to locate

Sorry to hear that the family trip was stressful. Being in charge of organising a trip for 10 people must be a lot! Even with a few people, I find people want to do their own thing sometimes so I can't imagine how it would be with 10 people. I used to love butter and sugar on bread too xD

The rice grains were first cooked and then dehydrated. So when it gets rehydrated it gets fluffy. It's not cooking raw rice.

You should visit 7eleven Cafe where there are more foods selection(idk whether they are in Penang but KL has a lot).Nonetheless ,it’s undeniable that Malaysia 7eleven sucks(pricey and lack of selection)comparing to Thailand,Taiwan and Japan.

Actually there are different 7-elevens in Malaysia that are trying to compete with Family Mart in terms of the fried snacks/chicken/hot foods and such but I still think Family Mart reigns supreme
There are few spots you will need to go next time when you are back Melaka, Langkawi, Redang ,Port Dickson , Ipoh and there is so much more !!!Glad you both enjoy my hometown!!!!

Even travelling with friends you have the same problems with people wanting to "change the plan". I never had a problem travelling with family, at least my family, because we are all easy going. The worst thing that ever happened was while visiting my parents in Florida my sister in law once wanted to go to the beach. Her kids really didn't and she got upset. I talked everyone into going even though ten minutes at a beach starts to give me a sunburn with spf 50+ keeping me "safe". It was worth it!

You should have gone to 7 eleven cafe instead of the normal 7 eleven in malaysia. In malaysia 7 eleven cafe is the one where the hot food like fried chicken, hot meals,oden, and sandwiches are at. Normal 7 eleven is just the typical 7 eleven that you find in America.

As a second generation chinese living in America, i really feel that stress about being the buffer between family and their needs when we travel together. One part translator, one part tech support, one part travel agent, one part hotel concierge.. but you're also their child so you're to be grateful to cater to their needs and you cant get mad or inconvenienced otherwise youre a bad son.

on the topic on US cost, it also didn't help that the US was of the currencies most resistant to inflation, so market value conversions were bad for everyone else buying in. That and going to basically the two most populous regions in California, and Vegas doesnt help making it cheap. Currency conversions as of the moment favor U.S people traveling abroad then the reverse.
