    What's the fix for Audi Q7 with P0172 code? I have the same code according to Auto Zone but was told it could be ignition coils or spark plugs because the startup is tough, with a rattling sound like a chain or something, and then I have to give it gas to start it. Someone said it might be my oil pump going out, but not sure. Also easily burning 5 to 10 miles as soon as I crank it up and drive a mile down the street.

      If you watch the video you will understand that I am talking about the High Pressure Fuel Pump. I am giving you a guidance how to diagnose it. If you don't have the tools to do it then you would need to go to a professional shop for this diagnostic. Thanks and Good Luck! 🤞💪👍

      @@projectathos thanks for the response. I did watch it. I wasn't sure if it was an O2 sensor, and if so, the upstream or downstream, based on Auto Zone's scan, or if it is a fuel pump issue. The professional I hired gave me a scan using top dog but I couldn't comprehend the results, and he's not really available, as he's been in and out of the hospital.

    Hi yes I need help, sometimes the check engine light would come on and off and it would be the same code P2188. I drive an 09 Audi A4 Quattro. Should I just change the PCV and High pressure fuel pump?

      Yes, you can start with the PCV but I would blame first the HPFP. Also you need to check what is your degree on Ignition timing to see uf your Timing Chain is not stretched. These should be replaced at around 100k to 120k on these Audis per factory recommendation. You should have more than 18 to 20 Degree change. I always check the HPFP and the Timing Degree first. Let me know if you have other questions... Thanks and Good Luck!💪🤞👍

      @@projectathos Hi thank you for replying! 🙏 yes most definitely due to change the timing chain just reach 113k. Will inspect thoroughly. I did notice the fuel line that goes to the HPFP has some rubbing wear, could that maybe cause the HPFP to act up?

    Where were the numbers at after the repair ?

    • @projectathos
      @projectathos  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I didn't check because I repaired the car by changing the HPFP and this is the reason why I made this video. I have checked on other cars though and when you push the gas pedal the numbers should go up to 1200 to 1400 PSI. Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks 💪👍

      @@projectathos I’m getting the same codes on a 2016 Audi A4 but the pressure for HPFP don’t drop down that low like in the video. Any suggestions ?
