I would LOVE for you guys to react to Fury (2014), starring Brad Pitt, Jon Berthnal, Shia Labeouf, Michael Peña and Logan Lerman. Not realistic in terms of WW2 battle sequences, but the chemistry between the actors is off the charts, think you guys might like it.

When Gary said "they told me when to sleep" I immediately started crying. The humiliation, frustration, anger, desperation in Simon peggs voice and face just hit me so hard
Hot Fuzz is still my favourite, but this doesn't get given enough credit in my opinion. Rick was right that he'd like it more on a rewatch. Basically everything is foreshadowing (a lot of people's favourites is the relevance of the pub names to what happens there), and you only catch the obvious ones first time around. There is sooo much to unpack and pick up on with a rewatch, and it'll take a bunch of viewings to catch most of them
Fully on board with Rick in all regards, both in terms of enjoying all of them just about equally, as well as his point about the slow burn being a good thing. Hell no I'd never skip the first minutes, if anything, knowing what's going to go down just elevates the setup and really, really enhances my overall enjoyment. Really like this movie and I think it's underrated in comparison, couldn't agree less with people bluntly dismissing it or ranking it the worst of the series. I just really love the vibe, and boy is the choreography stealing the show throughout.
I agree 100% with this because I believe all of the Cornetto movies are better after rewatch, but this one is almost made for rewatch. It’s so much more fun.
I mean Worlds End was alright in my opinion but the weakest of the Cornetto trilogy. They dates these were made are how they are ranked from 1st to 3rd in that order for me. I think they should do one other and have it based on star wars parody or something else.
Pegg and his buddy are great together.

This one has the most emotional depth of the trilogy, often overlooked and not given enough credit, especially on rewatches when you catch more of the depth it really shines
And especially when you factor in the off-screen emotional depth, since it was super personal to Pegg and helped him reckon with his past alcoholism.

I was only 13 when this came out. Me and my mate were huge fans of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. And of course we loved this movie too. But we never realised how deep it was as a kids. I never really paid attention to Gary's really sad life, that he had been self harming and maybe even intended to kill himself by the end. Now I still love it as a comedy but the emotional depth is really moving.
Yeah, this one seems to be considered the black sheep of the trilogy but I think it's the most emotional and darkest. Really like that it's something a little different but still has that same kind of energy and humour.
This was the best one in the trilogy by far. The other two were great but closer to parodies.
Oh man. I guess I'm one of the few that think that this is my favorite film out of the Cornetto trilogy. I also love that the names of the pubs already tell you the whole story.
Trust me, there are many more who consider this their favorite. I do, by far.

It's weird because I can objectively say that Hot Fuzz is the best and made me laugh a lot more than any other of the Cornetto trilogy. And yet, despite that, The World's End is my favorite.
I love the symbolism with all the pub names which explains their journey:
The First Post: starting pub
The Old Familiar: Exactly the same as the first pub
The Famous Cock: Gary (the cock) is famous in the pub and is barred
The Cross Hands: When the guys fight they cross hands with the robots in the same way as on the sign
The Good Companions: The friends are reunited and start to bond again
The Trusty Servant: Rev. Green is a servant of the robots
The Two-Headed Dog: The twins
The Mermaid: The siren imagery with the marmalade sandwich
The Beehive: All the robots swarm the pub like bees with Mr Shepherd acting as the queen
The King's Head: Gary King loses his head (metaphorically)
The Hole in the Wall: The car crashes through the wall
The World's End: The world literally ends
I always thought the Kings Head referred to the head on the beer since Gary is the only one still drinking at that point
A few correction/alternative interpretations:
The Good Companions also has a logo of 1 happy mask and 4 miserable ones, like King and company
The Trusty Servant could also refer to O-man, as this is the pub where he gets replaced
Gary is carried into The Kings Head after Andy punches him in the head. It's also right after he knocks his own head into a wooden post.

You forgot the last pub at the very, very end "The Rising Sun". Dawn of a new day?
The crawl wasn't just the only thing he had left. It was the last hoorah before he kills himself for good.
The end of the world literally saved King's life.
The Three Musketeers explanation foreshadowed Andy, Gary and Steven being the only surviving group left.
Pete and Oliver wore blue, foreshadowing them to become blanks.

The difference from this one and the others is that this film makes me genuinely emotional with the Gary reveal. The pub crawl being all he has was obvious but the reveal just breaks me. That's why I love this one a bit more than the others
It's a testament to how good of an actor Simon Pegg is, that he can spend the entire movie playing this douchebag character who, while funny, is a consistently awful person... then at his lowest moment, physically hurting his best friend just so he can have another beer, he can make you pull a total 180 and feel so bad for the poor bastard.

Yeah I only just noticed in this rewatch that Gary had likely been in and out of a mental hospital close to since the first golden mile
One thing that's really fun about this movie on a rewatch is the opening just spoils the entire movie without you realizing it. Them running into the Reverend Green in pub 5, O-Man going out in pub 6, his sister going along but Gary having to let her go, Pete going out after pub 9 and then at the end they sit on the hill seeing the orange glow of a new dawn break.
And at the end of the opening scene, if you look closely, you can briefly see a shooting star flying across the sky, which is later revealed to be the Network arriving on Earth
They do a similar thing in Shaun of the Dead too
Just wanted to add, the fight choreographer for The World's End was the fantastic Brad Allen. He worked with Edgar previously on Scott Pilgrim, and went on to coordinate/choreograph the stunts/fight sequences in the Kingsman films. He was truly a master of his craft.

I've always said this one might be the weakest of the three but that is a huge compliment to the trilogy as a whole because I absolutely love this movie
i love how at the end, the alien intelligence subtley changes how he refers to gary over the course of the conversation.

Hot Fuzz is my faviorite and I consider it a genuinely perfect film. I liked The Worlds End the first time i saw it but didn't realise how genuinely brilliant it is until the 2nd or 3rd watch. It's such a relatable story and has a lot more to actually say about people than Edgar's other films. Gary King may genuinely be the most tragically sad character in any comedy film I have ever seen. The line "What happened Gary" from Sam when he takes her into the toilets is absolutely heartbreaking.
I love that Martin Freeman's roles got progressively bigger in this films as he became more famous 🤣. The second he came out of that bathroom i was like HE AIN'T RIGHT
I love this movie! Actually a great exploration of nostalgia for youth, human nature as rebellion, Gary’s depression, and the commodification of British towns
The main characters' surnames all have royalty or court connections: (Gary) King, (Andy) Knightley, (Peter) Page, (Steven) Prince, and (Oliver) Chamberlain.
Seeing this movie for the first time was a special one for me - Me, my brother and a few friends went to a Cornetto Trilogy marathon night, timed to start The World's End at midnight on its release day. They served Cornettos between each film and each film had an intro from Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost to hype us up. I don't remember all of the intros, but I do remember that in the intro for Shaun of the Dead, Simon Pegg said "Shaun of the Dead contains 77 uses of the F Word, and we want you to applaud every time you hear it."

Been years in the making but finally Aarons "This is the End" mix up saga has come to an end.
So glad Eric liked this one, it's my personal favourite and more proof that everything Edgar Wright writes or directs is absolute gold. Would absolutely love to see to guys react to Last Night in Soho as it's a completely different vibe. Loved the reaction lads
This one's my favourite of the three. They absolutely perfected the foreshadowing in this one. Even though it had fewer laugh-out-loud moments, it's the only one of the trilogy where I care about the characters. It also has the best action; as good as Hot Fuzz is, there's a lot of shaky cam during the action scenes.
When you get the guy who shot the Matrix films and the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films to do the cinematography, it's inevitable you're in for some great action scenes
I think that's part of the humour, the shaky cams follow the typical action movie trope that they had going in Hot Fuzz
This was filmed where I went to school, in Letchworth Garden City. Most of the pubs in the film are actually real pubs, although the train station was dressed as 'the worlds end' - in 6th form, a group of us did actually go on a pub crawl of the town in 1999.
Yeah, it was surprising to see. I like they made the Broadway cinema to a night club.
The Cornetto trilogy has such a great selection of British actors, some who'll only be known in Britain properly. The bartender at 20:20 is played by Mark Heap who, IMO, is an underrated actor. He was in a sitcom called Friday Night Dinner and played a character called Jim who might be one of the best characters in any sitcom. Of course there's Reece Shearsmith from Inside No 9 but you guys will know him as Patrick Troughton in An Adventure in Space and Time and in Doctor Who Series 9 episode 'Sleep No More'. A fantastic versatile actor.
Mark Heap also was in the sketch show Big Train with Simon Pegg and later in the sitcom The Green Wing.
One to add to Mr Heaps list Jam ... highly recommend Mr lizard as one of his more weird and creepy sketches

I feel Rick needs to watch his own reaction back, because he seemed to forget just how much he laughed & enjoyed it. (And not for the first time). His reviews often belie his genuine reaction. I mean, in this one he even did the excitable, involuntary clap (like an ex-member used to) at one stage.😊
Tbf to Rick it's not that he didn't enjoy it, it's he knew the twist was coming due to the trailer he watched. A problem with trailers nowadays is they give too much away. It was the same with The World's End Trailer. Unfortunately unlike the others he just knew it. If he never saw the trailer he would of probably liked it a lot more

What I love about this movie is that each pubs name has to do with what happens at each pub it’s so great. Such great writing
Eric is my spirit animal. I really can't compare the 3 films to each other. Each is great for its own reason. Also, I just can't wrap my brain around the idea of skipping through a film. I sit down and watch a movie from start to finish, even on rewatches. And slow parts of all the films I love are so important to the overall whole.
I HIGHLY recommend watching Cinema Win's videos on the cornetto trilogy, they're very entertaining and you learn so much more about the foreshadowing, camera tricks and jokes in all three of the movies
And I recommend you watch the Critical Drinker podcast with his friends about Hot Fuzz, its really cool

This is my favourite of the Cornetto Trilogy. This is fantastic. I love Edgar Wright's style of symetrical stories(the titles of the bars in this one foreshadow the encounters they have)and the story was so funny and heartwrenching as well. Gary peaking in high school and trying to recapture the old magic is sad.

I think the extra beat before the crazy starts is an artistic choice to purposefully make the audience guess if there actually is a crazy. I think it’s a nice touch.

This is undoubtedly my favourite of the trilogy. I was genuinely surprised to hear it was a lot of people's least favourite.
I can see logically how Hot Fuzz is just... a better complete package.
But, to me, this has basically everything the first two had and more. Better characters, more heart, amazing fight scenes and funnier comedy. I'm not seeing a downside.

Hot Fuzz, The Worlds End and Shaun of the Dead are the order I like these movies in. But all three are really smartly written films with lots of set-up, foreshadowing and pay-off. The Cornetto Trilogy is a classic gem.

YES! This is my favorite of the Cornetto trilogy because of how unique it is compared to the others. I've watched it like 3-4 times and every time I see something new that just makes me awe at Edgar Wright's genius.
That was the first film I watched in English without subtitles or context AND in England because me and my friends were walking around York and suddenly decided to go to the cinema (I'm not a native speaker). I've had no idea what I'm getting myself into with this movie and when you have no clue that film will have aliens, this plot twist is surprising as hell haha
Edgar Wright is damn good at doing match-cuts, foreshadowing, having a character literally spell out the entire movie in an early scene without you realizing they did it and incredibly well choreographed action sequences. It makes re-watches of the Cornetto trilogy so rewarding without ever detracting from how fun those films are.
I love this entry in the Cornetto Trilogy. The characters feel more relatable then in Hot Fuzz or Shawn of the Dead. And I love when the thing that sets humanity apart is how much of a bunch of fuckups we are
No one can combine comedy and tragedy like Edgar Wright does. Plus, his whole filming style is super unique. I'd say he's the master of visual comedy at the moment.

This one's def my favorite. I love the character arcs I this and the action is awesome and fun
This one is my favourite by far. The best fight scenes, best subtle and intelligent humour, and the most emotional, especially if you understand that Gary is cutting himself and that he's wasted years of his life with depression.
If you watch Spaced it makes it better. It's a sitcom they did together back in the 90s. All the characters make an appearance in the corenetto trilogy! It's on Prime. Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost! It's sooo good!
This one grows on you the more you watch it, especially as im older now than when I first watched it.

The reason Andy is so brutal is because it’s shown that he’s a beast in rugby. I’ve seen knees broken, legs snapped, ears torn and teeth smashed just in highschool rugby

First of all, thank you guys for all you do. I loved this film and have been trying to get my buddies to do a safe pub crawl years ago. Sometimes this film is hard to watch because I literally had a friend who had the personality of Gary King. He unfortunately passed away rip. Brings back good memories. Cheers 🍻
The stunts/action was aided by the late Brad Allan who choreographed many of Jackie Chan’s fights.

In the intro you can see andy playing sports, maybe rugby? So that explains why he's so good at kicking ass and outrunning the blanks.

Yes, that is a sword at the end. But I don't think it's just *a* sword, I think it's *the* sword. Because legend says that in its time of great need, The King will return to save the kingdom, leading his Knights on a great quest.
Gary at the end is Arthur reborn. The (Once and Future) King, wielding Excalibur.
Andy going absolutely BEAST mode halfway through is why this is my favorite of the Cornetto trilogy.
This is one of my favorite movies. As someone from a very small town. going back and feeling things never changed there, but everything feels strange, comparing yourself to friends from that town and thinking back to the hopes and dreams you had at highschool and thinking what happened to you since then. Never saw another film that captured that better.
I was very fortunate enough to watch the filming of this movie in person seeing the likes of Simon Peg , Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, and Paddy Constantine doing their scenes , all taken place during late 2012 due to the fact i live in the same north Hertfordshire area where this film was mostly being made.
World's end is my favorite of the trilogy. An absolute masterpiece.
YES! FINALLY! I've been waiting so long for this reaction, hands down my favorite of the Cornetto Trilogy, I like that this one is brave enough to have more 'real' moments than the other ones. Blew my mind when I watched this as a kid.
So much of what makes me excited whenever I see this is the soundtrack...it fit the theme so well...just song after song from the "young" era...

I had no idea this was people's least favorite!! This and Hot Fuzz flip as my fav depending on which one I'm watching!!!
The thing these movies do best is that moment of extreme pain and catharsis amongst the highjinks. Shaun's mum, Danny learning the truth, and Gary's suicide attempt reveal. I think this one is the best of the three, that scene in the World's End is so fucking tragic, and so wonderfully played by Simon and Nick.
The music is great in this, in the end when he is shouting to the Bill Nighy voice he quotes “loaded” by Primal Scream which plays at the beginning when he is smiling thinking of doing the golden mile again. The end song is called “happy hour again” I’m sure they are all strategically placed
Love the toilet & pub fight scenes in this, choreographed by Brad Allen (RIP) who worked with Jackie Chan a lot.
I thought I’d have to wait ages for this. Can’t wait to watch it with you guys!
My favourite of the three, I think. I totally love all of them, but there is just so much to see in this one. I could write an essay on all the visual gags in this - like the fight with the twins taking place in the Two Headed Dog, and the car crashing into the building in the Hole in the Wall. Every re-watch I'll see something new. And the soundtrack is awesome!

My favourite details about this film is that every pub is foreshadowing the events that happen within. And they all have a poster, board or sign in the pub with the number it is out of 12. Edgar Wright is my favourite director and everything he does is great! Last Night in Soho should be on the watchlist for you guys!
This movie was one of the most significant 180s i ever saw. It started out depressing with this dude clearly being an alcoholic addict stuck in the past and just as it hit peak , it was like boom fuckin tommyknockers but with insane robot fights.
It also has the best acting of the three and the best effects and choreography. Edgar Wright is a treasure and his other movies are excellent too.
The Peter Fonda quote is more of a reference to the song “Loaded” by Primal Scream, which sampled the lines. It was released in 1990 when they would have attempted the pub crawl for the first time - it was a massive anthem back in the day, especially for people around that age. Great reaction as always, I love all three, and anything Edgar Wright has a hand in I go in with high expectations - I would really recommend Spaced, a TV series from the late 90s/early 2000s written by Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes and directed by Edgar Wright. Loads of familiar faces, including Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, as well as others you’ll recognise as background characters from the Cornetto trilogy.

Hot Fuzz is my favourite and is the best movie of the three.
World's End, however, is the best written of the three.
My favourite bit of foreshadowing about their fate is about the Three Musketeers: "If you had Five, two could have died, and you would have three left."
Now I know why King Viserys Targaryen a.k.a. Paddy Considine a.k.a. Steve is what he is - he's secretly a drunkard.
I got the chance to see this blind, and I'm so glad I did. That reveal was so amazing. and overall I just love this film.
This is, by far, the most mature film out of the 'Cornetto Trilogy'. It often gets overlooked due to the others being more popular but it's still a really great film.

I love this movie so much, people laugh because I say this is better than Shaun of the dead... But one thing I will say is wtf Hollywood, nick frost is doing more action and fighting than Simon Peggy and yet nick has never been asked to do a Hollywood action movie
I'd totally watch a movie based on the ending of this one...
The most tragic thing i find is how you can tell Martin Short's character got replaced with a Robot when he went into the restroom at The Trusty Servant. You can tell by how clean and Proper he is in comparison to when they all went into the bar and they were all equally as Plastered.

This is my favourite out of the 3,they are all really good but Gary's character resonates with me. Great music as well.
