    I'm a disabled Vet, and my hands can't handle using heavy tools for more than a few minutes at a time. This tool is lightweight, and I can tell the design will be much easier for me to use. I believe this tool is a must for every home enthusiast! I haven't had the chance to use on yet, and I can't wait... I'm really looking forward to using this tool!

    Oh.... For crying out loud Matt.... You have the handle on the machine backwards. It is suppose to arch forward, over the drum... your working too hard with it the way you have it because you lost the leverage the curve was intended to provide! Great tool by the way. Absolutely LOVE this thing

  • @andrewwilson8317

    I have just purchased one and impressed with it. One thing I would add is that it is hard work to use and after an hour of use you know you been working! I bought a wire brush drum for it from a seller on eBay and to see it in action is amazing. The SCT is not scared of hard work! You can really work it as hard as you can and it just shrugs it off. You don't need a gym subscription when you using this tool,cancel gym and but one with the money!?. One of the best tools to come onto the market in years.

    The only problem with the SCT is getting it back from friends who have borrowed it to see what it is like to use! So far everyone has been very reluctant to give it back,they love it! Owning one makes you very popular with your car owning friends.

    As an asides I also clip my dust extractor to the handle to extract the dust.works very well. I have used a light spritz of water to stop sanding belts clogging up and have a lump of what looks like latex that cleans clogged belts by rubbing them when it's running. Not sure who makes it as picked it up after a demonstration at a restoration show a couple of years ago.

    First off I bought the Contour SCT when it first came out with Eastwood. Love it!
    I think Matt could have talked less and more time demontrating the SCT. I would share but dont think my friends could sit for 33 minutes watching him drum about 2 square feet of fender. He would have run the SCT up and down the fender this way keeping the drum a lot more flatter. He was going left to right on the top of the fender which has more contour there, I thought he was going to switch in that direction when he talked about the edges going off the fender. You definetly can tell when he showed the drum with the sand paper only the center used. Matt needs to carry spare shirts as he had a hole on the bottom. Not good for a live feed
    Best to use the SCT in the direction that is the most flattest. Still can do contour areas as Matt deminstrated.
    Buy one you. Well worth the cost.

      I disagree that it is limited to large pieces of metal. I turn mine over and use it as a stationary tool to do small parts (just be aware, if you use the wire drum, it bites like hell). Has done a great job on smaller pieces and really cut the time down

    question... if im doin a section at a time, & im gonna let it sit in the garage for a week or two till i get back at it, what type of primer would u recommend to keep the naked metal from flash rusting while its sittin dormant?

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  Před 4 lety

      If you want to use primer, put Epoxy Primer on the bare metal. If you're just looking to keep an area flash rusting until you can cover the entire project in epoxy primer, use After Blast - www.eastwood.com/ew-after-blast.html

    i have some rust on the roof of my toyota truck would you recommend those black disks over a wire wheel and if so after you get it down to bare metal is the next step primer or is there something else before primer?This is factory paint on my truck by the way,thank you

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  Před 7 lety

      The Contour SCT is great, especially with the black stripping discs. When it's down to bare metal, prep with Pre Paint Prep than apply Epoxy Primer. If you can't get it down to bare metal, you could try using the Eastwood Small Job Blast System to remove the remaining rust or apply Rust Encapsulator to those areas.
